Handles all aspects of audio very well, clear vocals, deep sharp bass, and amazing instrumentals. These earphones offer high quality sound at an average price i feel they're as good or better then the Bose ie2 whatevers with no bass and all treble. They are very balanced and very crisp, the only thing I'm not a fan of is the new design i makes them slighty uncomfortable after extended wear. Which can be a problem when your wearing headphones for 10+ hours a day at work and what not. But over all these earphones offer high quality and a reasonable price I would recommend them to anyone who asked. Thrasher

I don't know if anyone from Sony actually reads these reviews, but these headphones were terribly made. I've never had a problem with any other headphones regarding their fit. These headphones do not stay in your ear, especially when you do anything athletic. If you run in these, they begin falling out immediately. In fact, any sort of bounce in your step will cause these headphones to fall out of your ear . Additionally, the extension to the ordinary cord makes the cord too long so if you actually do anything athletic (aren't these headphones made for that purpose?) the cord becomes tangled or hits your leg or arms, etc. A terrible made product and a complete let down. For $20 it isnt a huge deal, but what a joke when Sony is supposedly known for quality products.

Poor Material Quality
from Sandusky OH
Comments about Sony In-Ear White Headphones:
The heaphones sound great! Well designed and light in my ears. However, the plastic/rubber used in the cord is of low quality, the cord separated on one side and the wire inside broke. To get this repaired, Sony wants $12.50... at this price, why not just go out and buy new ones? And why would I buy Sony again?

Disappointed beyond belief
Pro: cheap price Con: almost no bass at all, I'm not sure if I got a defective pair, but the bass quality on these are extremely poor. You get what you pay for I suppose, but I would have expected more out of a pair of sony earbuds, even if they were $9.99. In summary, very disappointed with my purchase, I would return these if I could but can't because of hygienic reasons.

Outstanding performance and value
Outstanding sound quality and overall performance for the price. Excellent value for an all around use earbud.
Best Earbuds I've Ever Owned
from Salt Lake City, UT
They really do cancel out so much background noise! They don't go quite as loud as others, but it doesn't really matter due to the fact they cancel out other noises so well. These earbuds have tainted me against others. I lost them for a week and was forced to use lesser quality ones.... That was a very sad week. Along with their superior sound, they are also the only earphones that fit in my ears and don't give me a headache!
New smaller model with smaller sound
I still have my pair of MDR-E10LP earbuds and they still sound fantastic. This new model however doesn't even come close to the audio quality in the E10 models. I would greatly appreciate if Sony gave accurate specifications for this new model of earbud because they gave it identical specs to those of the E10 earbuds but do not sound anywhere near the level the E10's are at. The E10's were worth $20 or more and yet were priced at a generous $10. The E9's however are worth $5 and yet are priced at $10. They are a waste of money.

I have used older models of these Sony earbuds over the years and have always liked them until now. I rarely write reviews on products but wanted to on this one. I've always liked fhaving the remote access for adjusting volume. However, a new feature has been added that allows you to tap the middle of the remote to turn the audio play on/off (sort of like a pause button). I listen to audiobooks and frequently I start to listen to my audiobook and find that it is already playing and has been for hours. The remote is easily accidentally bumped when putting my iPod away, etc. So, I have lost my place in my book and my battery is drained. It's driving me crazy! I can't stand this new device and would not recommend this model. In addition, the volume adjustments intermittently stop working. I hope that Sony removes the start/stop play feature from the remote. Sometimes, improvements do not improve the model. The previous model was better.
Worst Purchase Ever
from Wichita, KS
I've had to buy 2 pairs in 2 1/2 months. Headphones are supposed to last around 6 months, and one pair of these didn't even make it 2 MONTHS before one side died. It'd be really nice if I could get the $30 that I spent on these stupid things back (AHEM). Don't waste your money on these headphones. I know I never will again.
Good all around Earphones
from Chicago, IL
I got these earphones just for average every day use like listening music on my phone, computer, and using it for movies and games from the PS3. The sound quality is the best for the price. Action movies sounded amazing, and playing BattleField 3 (War Game) has never been so frightning! I never expected so much from so little. It cancels off noise good. Every genre of music sounds good for these earphones. I had them for about 8 months now and they are holding up good, just a few scratches, and normal wear and tear. I have done a lot of abuse to these things, accidentally stepping on them, dropping it on carpet, in water, and snow, etc. Great Earphones!

I have had these earphones for about two months now. These earphones are very good. They sound great. I like these because they actually fit inside your ear unlike some that just sit in the middle of your outer ear, and these don't fall out as much as the ones that sit in the middle of your ear. If you put them in your ear and one or both don't play, take the cushions off and wipe the speakers off. This happened to me once. I highly recommend these to everyone.

just purchased, had the MDR-ED12LP and these fit better. feels to have very good sound blocking for in hear headphones with passive sound blocking. Wish the cord was a bit longer at maybe 60 in but is not too short. Has usable length. I also feel the right angle kink in the jack Hope unit keep up over time as I am a little hard on the cords of headphones over all a good buy for entry level in ear headphones.
