First, the sound of these headphones is quite good, but the FR is more U-shaped ("fun") than flat/neutral, although (thankfully) apparently not as much as the Monster Beats. The sound is best when the NC is not needed (NC on, but in a quiet setting), and flatter when NC is off. (With NC on and in a quiet location, however, the bass can be overwhelming on some bass-heavy tracks.) But as a travel headphones, the Bose QC15s sound better in a noisy environment because the ANC is more aggressive and, as a result, you hear more bass. (The QC15s are lighter, more compact, and more comfortable, to boot.) With the Inspirations, you bass tends to get washed out in the low frequency background noise that doesn't get silenced, although I've noticed this with just about every other noise-cancelling headphone other than Bose. On the other hand, in a quiet setting, the Inspirations sound a lot better than the Bose QC15s (which, frankly, sound somewhat mediocre in that setting). At MSRP, I couldn't recommend these. I got mine at a very substantial discount, so I'm more neutral, but they are not my first choice for travel.

Yes, got it as gift, but no strings attached. Don't buy... Just try it... Then you'll know what I am talking about.

Omg!!!! These are the best headphones ever!!... I was originally going to buy the beats by dre but these have a better bass and good highs.. Also even though it looks like they are big they are light as a feather on your head... I know they cost an arm but to tell you the truth ... I would give an arm for these headphones...

The head phones have great sound quality and are easy to use and transport. However, I experience inner-ear pressure after a few minutes of having them on. The head phones provide a great seal around your ear for limiting background noise, but it causes pressure to build up internally, which leads to a minor headache. Unfortunately, due to the pressure, I have not used them very much.

I purchased the Inspiration headphones for my husband as a Christmas gift and we both LOVE them. The sound is so crisp and the noise cancellation feature is awesome.

Great set of Headphones. Only wish the cable headphone jack was longer and higher quality to reflect the upscale headphones themselves. Com'on Monster designers get with the total package OK?. And the interchangable headphone bands might be a savy idea for some but it didn't really do anything for me. Why not offer multiple color choice options of the entire headphone itself. The silver headphones with the black headband was satisfactory for me.
