I love my new KitchenAid mixer and really appreciate the larger bowl. I usually make double recipes of cookies, muffins, and breads. I was using my old KitchenAid with the 5 quart bowl to mix up the "liquids" (butter, sugar, eggs) with the extras like bran, oatmeal, etc., and then would add it to a large bowl of the dry ingredients to finish mixing by hand. "By hand" is getting harder all the time with age and arthritis. So I finally talked myself into the bigger, more powerful mixer. But...the beater just isn't big enough, so I am constantly having to scrape down the sides and trying to get what's dry and loose in the bottom of the bowl to mix with the rest of the batter. So I'm still mixing by hand a bit and still getting an uneven mix. But... the "better beater" to make my batters better is another $50! I am refusing to spend more than I have already. I would have thought that a small appliance that cost as much as some of my large appliances would have come complete with everything it needed to work right. I knew when I ordered it that the better beater wasn't included, but what I didn't know was how poorly the regular beater would work (not as well as my old, smaller one). If fact, I'm not sure the new one is any bigger than my old one (which I gave away to a very happy recipient) that fit the smaller bowl better. There is at least a 1/2 inch gap from the new beater edge to the big bowl edge. I think with a better beater, my new red mixer would be PERFECT!

I received my 7-Qt bowl mixer for Christmas 2013. I requested it and was excited to use it. I have my original Kitchen-Aid 5Qt. mixer that I received as a shower gift back in 1979. It still works and has worked like a horse all these years. I was hesitant about getting a new mixer for fear that the quality would not be as good as my old machine, and only did so because I really needed a larger capacity bowl. I am a bit disappointed, but not really surprised that the quality, in my opinion, is not the same. The first time I used the machine the tab behind the bowl that snaps the bowl in place vibrated loose, so much so that the bowl wobbles if you don't tighten it. This happens on a fairly regular basis. There are also times when I turn the machine on that it doesn't start immediately and need to turn it on and off a few times before it starts. What's up with that? There have also been times when the mixer is running that it will raise and lower the speed by itself almost like a power surge. My last comment is about the splash guard. Compared to my old machine it is very flimsy and I feel it will crack if it is not handled gently. All in all, the mixer does the job. I am very happy with the bowl capacity, it fits my needs better than anything else on the market. I will say though that taking it back to exchange for another one is on my to-do list, I feel this one is faulty. I guess that's what disappoints me. I really didn't expect the quality to be the same as my old machine, but for $600+ dollars I was hopeful. Just in case, I am not getting rid of my trusty old machine any time soon, unless it dies. Thanks for the opportunity to speak my piece. Sincerely Donna Benetatos

Comments about KitchenAid Proline Bowl Lift Frosted Pearl Stand Mixer:
I bought thus to replace smaller/older unit I gave my Mom. It survived this year's Xmas cookie siege (we make 50 batches) and performed splendidly. I really like the bowl attachment feature.

Don't know why I waited so long, this mixer works great and not all that loud, this one does make that clicking noise that a few have complained about but it doesn't bother me, I just use it, with all the power I need for double batches of cookies and related goodies I have no problem with it and whipped goodies, wow! It does it better and faster than any mixer I've owned.
Dream come true.

I've had an Artisan for ten years and was very happy with it. Recently, I've been making more bread and after reading reviews decided to get the Pro Line Mixer. The bowl ws a little tricky to get on and off on the first attempt but once I figured it out it was easy. I've made multiple batches of bread and cookies and I am very satisfied. The large bowl and more powerful motor make a difference for larger dough volumes. I like the curved lame more than my old hook and the pouring shield is much easier to use. My Artisan has been passed on to my daughter.

Finally retired my 28 year old 4qt Kitchenaid - still works great but needed a larger capacity. Easily double recipes and triple in some cases.
Worked exactly as I hoped it would.

I bought my mixer in time to make 26 kinds of Chritmas cookies; triple batches of most. I love that I could mix this much at one time. I did not have a mixer like this before, but it took no time at all to get used to how to place the bowl and insert the blade. I am extremely happy with how well and easily is mixes the batter. I did buy the scraper blade as an extra and rarely did any scraping. I am not sure if much more scraping would have been necessary or not if I had used the regular blade.

I received this mixer as a gift after my Kitchen Aid of 14 year died. I debated long and hard about whether a 6 qt or 7 qt would fit my needs. Thankfully my husband ignored the higher price tag and purchased the 7 qt. I can comfortably single or double batches of cookies or cakes. The only down side of this machine is that it started making a clicking noise. it's hard to tell if it needs an adjustment or if the bowl it's self is somehow moving.

About Me Avid Cook
This is the strongest of the Kitchenaid mixers that I own. I needed a mixer to make batches of Bavarian Pretzels without overheating the unit. The dough tends to be very thick and heavy. This mixer handles it with ease. The pearl finish is perfect and pleasing to the eye. With proper maintenance this mixer will outlast me!
Always wanted the "big" mixer, and this one is beautiful! I love how quiet it is, my old one (also a kitchen aid) always whined and sounded like it was going to explode:( The lift handle and speed control are big enough to easily grab and adjust, much better for older hands, and it's so solid-feeling - well worth it!

My old mixer life was about over when I read about the new Kitchenmaid Pro 7 qt stand mixer. After turning it on, I was so impressed by the smooth sound of the motor. It sounded like the expensive sound of a fine automobile. The sound that indicates luxury. In using it, I really like the way that it slow kneads the dough thereby avoiding oxidation and retaining the real flavor of the wheat. It produces a superior loaf of bread.
