KitchenAid Proline Bowl Lift Candy Apple Red Stand Mixer, Model KSM7586PCA

KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series 7-Qt Bowl Lift Stand Mixer with 1.3 HP Motor1. Motor horsepower for our mixer motors was measured using a dynamometer, a machine laboratories routinely use to measure the mechanical power of motors. Our 1.3 horsepower (HP) motor reference reflects the horsepower rating of the motor itself and not the mixer’s horsepower output to the mixer bowl. This robust motor, the backbone of our new mixer, delivers .44 HP to the bowl enabling your mixer to deliver consistent power to small and large loads with less heat build-up; resulting in years of dependable mixing. When combined with and guided by our new advanced motor control board, this is our longest lasting and most efficient motor yet. Simply put, our new, highly efficient, special purpose motor delivers the power you need when you need it.

Features:

  • Professional bowl-lift design
    Raises bowl into mixing position
  • 7-Qt. Stainless Steel Bowl
The 7-Qt stainless steel bowl offers our largest capacity residential KitchenAid® Stand Mixer—enough to efficiently mix dough for up to 14 dozen cookies. The stainless steel bowl is dishwasher-safe for effortless cleanup.

Since retiring, I have become a large scale baker and quasi-gourmet chef. Bought this mixer because of its bowl size and power. It easily and quietly mixes & kneads large batches of bread dough (6-8 loaves) and biscotti (8 doz). Come Thanksgiving it will get a workout mashing 8-10# of potatoes.

We will keep our KA Artisan tilt head mixer for the smaller jobs or when making two types of icing for one cake. The Artisan is a great machine also, ours being used extensively since 2000.

I purchased this mixer February 2016 as a replacement for the 6 quart mixer I burned up making cookie dough. I love my mixer but have had an enormous problems getting a non-defective bowl. I ordered an extra stainless steel bowl at the time I ordered my mixer but received a glass bowl. It was packaged improperly with no padding and in a flimsy box. Needless to say, it was broken when I opened the box. I called customer service, and they sent out a metal bowl that was RUSTED around the inside top of the bowl. Called customer service, and received another defective, rusted bowl. I now have four defective bowls, and only one that is ok. I should have only 2 good bowls. I have given up trying to receive a well made bowl, it just isn't possible using kitchenaid's quality control procedures. I asked if they could at least inspect the bowl before sending and was told it wasn't possible. Don't they have humans working in the warehouse??? My rating would be 5 stars, but my negative experience receiving a food safe bowl cancels out the good.

Americas Test Kitchen with Chris Kimball rated Proline 7

By

from Lancaster, Pa

On ATK, Chris Kimball and an associate tested 12 pro stand mixers. They found that the Kitchen Aid 7 Quart Proline stand mixer with a "22" wire whisk was the top choice. Next was the Kitchen Aid 4.5 quart Kitchen Aid stand mixer. My question is, will the Kitchen Aid Proline 6 quart stand mixer adapt to the 22 wire whisk that is used on the Proline 7?

I love my Kitchaid

By

from Spokane, WA

I have RA and can't work with my hands very good and this mixer saves me so much time and pain in the kitchen and for making bread it's wonderful. I make my own hamburger with the meat grinder. I put 5%fat in and have great burgers for 3.99 a pound.

Dissapointed

By

from Ga

I received my mixer last night and was so excited. I got it set out on the counter and looked it over. There is a chunk missing off the arm of the bowl lift, a chunk missing off the beater, and burrs inside the bowl from the welds of the handle.

Easy To Use

By

from Middle River Md

The ease to use this mixer you don't have anything dropping off the beaters. Because the bowl is lifted up with a handle. And when you remove the bowl the beater is removed with the bowl so that nothing is dripping from the beater's onto your unit like the tilt head sometimes does.

Very disappointed

By

from Houston, TX

I purchased this mixer in January. It was a big splurge to upgrade from the standard size. I bake a lot, and often in large batches, so I was so excited about the quiet, stronger motor, and the large bowl.
Almost immediately the machine started clicking when I used it, particularly when using the dough hook. In addition, the small metal piece on the neck started producing metal shavings, which I thankfully noticed before it fell into my food and seriously injured somebody.
Also, the wisk and blades don't completely reach the bottom, so the there a small layer of whatever I'm making that doesn't ever get mixed in.
I'm extremely frustrated and disappointed.

Severely flawed manufacturing and quality control!

By

from New Jersey

First, I upgraded to this mixer to replace a KP26MIX 6 quart mixer that malfunctioned after only 4 months of use. The 7 qt mixer arrived in two days but Kitchenaid omitted FedEx return label needed to return defective machine. Now after packing up old machine, I apparently need to wait 3 business days for Kitchenaid to send label. Now, onto the REAL PROBLEM...I JUST ALMOST BROKE MY PINKY FINGER BECAUSE FACTORY NEGLECTED TO INSTALL CAP THAT COVERS HOLE ON END OF BOWL LIFT KNOB! Mixer also had sharp prickly fiber strands stuck to edges of bowl lift glides and glops of excess grease all over! Dough hook and flat beater coating is also defective with pitting and various rough spots too! HOW ON EARTH HAS KITCHENAID QUALITY FALLEN SOOOOO LOW? Now, the icing on the cake...Kitchenaid will not process exchange of 7qt mixer that is missing a part until they receive defective 6 qt mixer which I can't ship without the label they neglected to send me! Jeff Fettig, Kenneth Hossler, and Corby Schroeder should all be ashamed of the lack of quality and inferior manufacturing that is now standard for Kitchenaid brand.

Older models are better

By

from Vermont

Sadly, my review is similar to the others. I had my old artisan mixer for over 25 years- works like a charm - but wanted a larger unit but as with the other folks- it started clicking, the paddle gets stuck and vibrates even if nothing is in the bowl. Totally bummed:(

Disappointing

By

from Oklahoma City

I've had my Kitchenaid Proline 7 qt mixer for a little over one year. Every time I use it and it starts to struggle a little bit with cookie dough or other substance, it trips the GFCI. My house is only fourteen years old so I don't know if it's the wiring or the mixer, but it's quite a nuisance. A smaller mixer might have been a better choice

New 7 qt Pro Mixer, click click click

By

from Washington, DC

I have a new 7 qt Kitchenaid mixer, and just made bread dough with 4 cups of flour. The mixer makes a clicking sound, like the metal gears are not working together properly. I have read that these mixers are prone to gear failure. This is a very troubling clicking sound.
