We live in a 35' motorhome. The old convection microwave that was in the motor home died leaving us with no oven at all, no hood vent, no light, no microwave. It was miserable, but we started researching to find the best quality Over The Range Convection Microwave we could find within our budge. We found this unit and compared it to others - hands down this was the absolute best deal. When my husband got it installed we were ecstatic! I've baked bread, used virtually every feature , and just have to say that this one does it all. Favorite feature - the steam/simmer; perfect rice, polenta, grits, veggies. I love the fact that it bakes evenly, and interior cleans easily. The vent fan is really amazing. I love the cooldown feature, the warm & hold, the melt/soften feature, and how beautiful it looks! My husband loves that I can now cook all of our favorite foods perfectly and that makes this passionate cook a very very happy camper! Oh - and it makes perfect pizza using a pizza stone on the round rack!

VERY DISAPPOINTED... COMPLETELY RUSTY

I bought this EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE appliance on August 2012, and after a month, it was completely RUSTY inside, around the fan. The technician had to come twice to get the approval to replace it. I thought Whirlpool was a good brand, and the GOLD SERIES its top of the line, but I am very disappointed now... I am having worse issues with my refrigerators... GOLD SERIES as well.

The microwave was a breeze to install with the supplied templates. Very easy to learn to operate it. Cooks well in standard and convection mode. Fan has an extra low speed for truly quiet operation. A good value, great price.

While in convection mode it suddenly quit. Under warranty the repairman came out and found a 20 amp bus fuse was blown. Has been doing okay since then which has been about three weeks. The plastic covering on the control panel has bubbled up. I will have that address if any other issues arise. The repair man suggest always get the extended warranty on these type of appliances. I do have a four-year extended warranty so I hope it will not go to the lemon stage.

This microwave is supposed to vent to the outside, however inside the microwave itself it does not vent to the outside. Only the hood vent for the stove vents to the outside.

This microwave has enhanced my ability to cook a family dinner. You can steam rice and vegetables in just a few minutes. I used convection to cook a skirt steak in half the time it would take to grill - it came out perfect (I really only pushed two buttons for that). Reheating casseroles provides just the right amount of reheat, so you aren't serving a blob of rubber to your family. I also like the four fan speeds - when on low, it's much quieter than my previous oven. All in all, I recommend this oven. It's versatile, well laid out, and so far does everything well.
