This is my second LG LW8012ER AC unit. My first one lasted several years with heavy use. My room is 22 X 25' and upstairs, so it gets very hot in the summer despite central air. This unit keeps my room very comfortable even on the hottest days. The remote makes it convenient to change modes #fan/cool/energy saver# and temperature from across the room. The maintenance couldn't be easier. Every couple of months I just pull the front grill cover down, remove the filter, rinse it in the sink and replace it. I think the biggest selling point was the reliability. I tend to use the fan on this unit throughout the whole year, even when I am not using the AC. Even so, the first unit lasted several years, so when it came time to replace it I was happy to find the exact same model.

Purchased online, read reviews prior, found most reviews spot on after receipt and installation. Specs were just about exactly right, just a smidgin off in rough opening size required, had to enlarge, but not a big deal. Good construction, air flow directors could be better, but for the price, this was a very good buy.

when my central heat & air when out & I realized I could not afford to replace it at that time, I purchased two LG air conditioners. They do the job and are very economical to use. My monthly electric bill actually went down. I am very satisfied with both appliances. Thank you LG!

This unit is quiet, seems to work well for its rated capacity and the remote control makes it convenient to turn on and off or adjust for temperature setting. I live in Colorado, where the low humidity makes the summer temperatures bearable. But this past summer, days on end of highs in the 90's to 100+ were making our house uncomfortable, even with our ceiling fans. I installed this unit in a dining room window, and in spite of other rooms open to the main dining/living room, it made a significant difference in comfort.

My first LG product. I am surprised by it's efficiency. Nice to have the remote and also enjoy the timer feature. This unit will shut itself off at night if you wish. We have an old brick row house and it cools our entire top floor. I think it is more efficient and works harder than LG lets on.
