Panasonic 60" Black 1080P Plasma HDTV - TC-P60S60

This is a big and inexpensive set. I love it because I don't need 3d or wifi built in. Great picture quality. The only thing I didn't like is it only had two hdmi inputs. Not a big deal but for right now my receiver doesn't have hdmi video switching. but the picture is perfect for movies, sports, and video games. Very film like and smooth.

This tv gets a 5 star rating because it is a great value for a large tv with excellent picture quality. As a plasma tv, this also has a very large viewing angle. With that being said, this tv is not perfect for everyone. The trade off for the large screen size and great picture at a budget price is that there are fewer additional features built in. This tv has wireless connectivity with a limited amount of applications to use (netflix is included, with a button on the remote for easy access). There is no 3d functionality. If expanded functionality including a large number of apps and 3d are important to you, look elsewhere. There are only 2 hdmi ports on this tv but I purchased a switcher for $15 that let me expand that to 4. There is only 1 optical audio output and no analog output. Finally, the biggest con to this tv may be the glare problem. I have this mounted on a wall in a room with overhead lighting. The overhead lights cause a fair amount of glare, forcing me to turn them off while viewing. Lamps on either side of the tv do not produce much glare, and can be left on while viewing. So in my case the glare problem is very simply corrected, though it may not be for everyone depending on the room layout and where windows are located. None of these cons were dealbreakers for me and at this price point the scale was was definitely tipped in favor of this tv. I listed these limitations so that other buyers will be aware. In conclusion, this is probably the best 60" tv with truly great image quality that can be found near this price point.

I researched many TVs and wanted to focus on picture quality and didn't want to pay for 3D as I already have a 55" Samsung with that. This TV has the best picture that I have ever seen. The contrast and colors are amazing. I see colors on this TV that simply aren't seen on other TVs. Even on TVs that cost much more.

Setup guys from ABT did a great job and were very knowledgable.

This TV replaced a 50" 1080p that was only 2 years old. Was lighter and more energy efficient so was able to use the same TV stand. Great sales experience with Abt sales and delivery guys. When it comes time to update my 3 other 50" and a 42" plasmas, I'll be using Abt.

I was looking for the best 60" picture I could get without all the extra features and this set fits the bill perfectly. I can get netflix and other Internet based apps on my DVD player or other devices so I didn't see the point in paying more for them on my TV as well. This TV has an amazing picture and is half the wieght of my previous plasma. Sound could be better but it works for me. ABT had the lowest price around on this set and had free shipping to boot. Totally satisfied with the TV and ABT.

I use the product in a 900 sq. foot apartment. We keep all our blinds closed because we are on the ground floor in front of the parking lot. We also mainly use it at night. Because of this, I wasn't very concerned with a little glare on the glossy panel.

I LOOOOOOVE the deep blacks on this TV. It's hard to tell any difference between the blacks on the TV and the black bezel around the TV. Really, they are almost perfectly black. The colors are also very, very accurate. And while the design of the TV isn't the absolute coolest on the market, it is still a very thin, sleek design, especially for a plasma.

Really the only disappointment I've had so far is the Amazon Instant Video app is extremely buggy. The interface is quite laggy, I couldn't get to my watchlist, and when I finally picked a video, I couldn't even get it to play. I haven't tried any of the other apps (Netflix, hulu, etc), so they could be better. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the "Smart TV" idea anyway. I'd rather have a really, really nice display, and get a separate box to do the "smart" things (apple TV was my choice).

For me, this TV fits that bill. It's the best looking TV I've ever had, and the apps would have been a nice cherry on top, but not a deal breaker at all in the mid-level price point.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt, and between ABT and the shipping company, they even allowed me to switch delivery addresses (I was in the middle of a move at the time). This allowed me to get the TV shipped directly to our new place on the day we moved in, instead of shipping it to my old place and having to move it myself. Nice!

Product arrived with no incidents. The only downside was the delivery man was a little perturbed that I wanted to unbox it and turn it on before he left so I could make sure it worked. I convinced him to stay, and luckily had it unboxed and powered on within 5 minutes. All was good, and he went on his way.
