We couldn't be happier with this purchase. This Maytag has a lot of features that the more expensive dish washers have, such as SS tub, steam clean, auto clean with sensor and food grinder. Not to mention, this dishwasher only has a 50db level which you can only find in the most expensive dishwashers. I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to a long relationship with my Maytag dishwasher.

We needed a new dishwasher ASAP as ours had stopped working two days prior to having a party at our house. Our last one was LOUD so we wanted a very quiet unit this time. I am happy to say that we can now run it and watch TV in the other room without hearing it. We ran it a few times and it does seem to clean very well.My only real complaint is that it holds about 2/3 the amount of stuff as our old one. The bottom rack is really set up only for plates. Its near impossible to put medium to large pots or bowls in there without having them face down and take up the entire rack. ...aside for the interior size issue it does work well and looks nice. We've only run the normal cycle, so I can't say how great the other options are. I just wish we would have gone to see it before ordering it. I really home Maytag comes out with a different bottom rack. All could be cleared up if they allow for some of the separators to be folded down.

Comments about Maytag Stainless Jetclean Plus Dishwasher:
Worked fine for a year. Just after going out of warranty electrical problems started. Intermittently it would not take commands. Called a serviceman and it worked great while he was here. Now the control panel is lighting up by itself. This is not right for a product costing over $600. It should last much longer than this before problems occur. We are very disappointed in Maytag at this time.

Great for a while, but control panel problems.
from New York, NY
We bought this dishwasher almost 3 years ago, and were very happy with the operation. It is whisper quiet and makes clean dishes. Then just out of warrantee the control panel began acting funny. We are unable to use certain options, or unable to press Start at all. After opening the back of the door (I'm handy), we could see corrosion on the ribbon cable leading to the control panel. This corrosion is inside the plastic ribbon on the copper contacts.I know from chat boards that other customers have this problem in exactly the same spot. I also know that after parts and labor, it will cost nearly what we paid for the unit to repair. Sadly I can't recommend this product.
bad design, should be recalled
from Grand Junction, CO
I bought Maytag because of the quality I thought I would be getting. Instead, after a year, the control panel on my dishwasher broke. The repair man said that the heat and moisture from the machine rusted out the wiring. The whole panel had to be replaced for a couple hundred dollars. The repain man said he has replaced many of the same parts and didn't understand why Maytag has not recalled the bad part due to faulty design. Same with my refrig. After a year, the ice maker quit and the whole thing had to be replaced. I don't think they should advertise amazing quality when it does NOT exsist. I will never buy another appliance from Maytag and tell all my friends the same.
Don't buy this dishwasher
from Salmon, Idaho
We bought this dishwasher about 18 months ago for our new home, based primarily on other good reviews we read. However, just about 1 month after the 1 year warranty ran out, the control panel started freaking out. The control lock feature would turn on and not be able to be turned off for days at a time...then suddenly it would begin working again. This went on for several months, until finally the dishwasher stopped working entirely. Googled the problem to find MANY other people with the exact same issue as we had with their Maytag dishwashers. Conveniently all beginning right about the time the warranty was out. The part..whenever I eventually find it on Maytag's terrible website, I've been told runs about $150. What a waste of money...to purchase a part that will likely fail again. I'll never buy Maytag brand anything again.
Board Fails After 2 Years - Known Issue, No Recall
from Nashville, TN
This dishwasher's front panel fails within 12 to 36 months. This is a known issue - just do a google search. Mine lasted 25 months before breaking. The issue is so widespread that when I called for a warranty repair, they were unable to fix the dishwasher because the part that is required to fix this panel issue is on national backorder.Maytag knows this is an issue, but has not addressed it by recalling the defective products. Save your money and the headaches - don't buy this dishwasher. After this experience, I'll never by Maytag again.

Though we haven't had the dishwasher long, we are very pleased with the performance and how quiet it is.

Touch pad is bad again
By Unhappy Brian
from Syracuse ny
I have a long history now with this machine and company, but I will make this short. The touch pad went out again last night and I cannot use my 21 month old dish washer. The company changed it out under warranty once and I tried to fix it myself a second time. Many many posts about the touch pad corrosion issue but Maytag won't resolve or even admitt a problem. After SEVERAL calls and surveys with them still no better now. They will send a part free of charge to an authorized repair center but I have to pay for the service charges. That will be about $200 out of my pocket for a 21 month old machine. That is NOT how you keep customers happy and want to buy more of your products.
Bought this to replace a dinosaur dishwasher we had. Washes great, definately can get hot water for cleaning.
Has Design Issue with control panel
from Livonia, MI
The control panel has an design issue with the flex ribbon wiring which burns up the wiring. I have had to replace one control panel a year age and now have to do it again. This makes two control panels failure before the dish washer is ever two year old and they cost about $150 each. Do not walk away from the product, RUN.

NEVER again buying a whirlpool family brand
By disappointed customer
from chicago, il
The control panel failed at 14 months. I did product research and read reviews prior to purchase, but of course there were not reviews about this issues because they change the models so quickly and it takes awhile for this malfunction to arise. Customer service offered a scripted response and will not back up it's product. I requested a new machine that did not have this design flaw, and maytag only offered to remind me that it is past its warranty and I would need to have it serviced independently.
