I was in the hunt to replace my 8 y/o 42" plasma and had been looking for several months. This TV came out at a perfect time and had 90% of what I was looking for...which didn't include SmartTV nor 3D.This TV has an absolutely fantastic picture and is what you would expect from a Samsung plasma these days. Deep, rich blacks, and vibrant colors. Out of the box, as always, the colors are a unrealistic in some settings and need to be adjusted. I'm not sure there is a lot more to write about, after all, this is all that this TV is supposed to do - it doesn't have any other selling feature aside from the picture itself. So my advice is that if you are looking for a superb picture - look no further. This is absolutely the TV to purchase. The price itself really prices out any competition from it's competition. The features that annoyed me a bit are that there are only 2 HDMI ports...especially since the exact same SmartTV version has 3. Do not expect to be wow'd by the sound. I never expect good sound from a TV, so this was no surprise. It does fine for normal TV watching I suppose, but it certainly isn't going to impress anyone. I bought a sound bar to accompany it before I even got the TV.This was installed onto the wall with a slim-mount, and it looks fantastic. The set is very very slim, and looks extremely sleek and does NOT seem to "hover" from the wall. The bezel is thin so it makes for a very attractive look on the wall that it seems to be a part of the room. The weight, at around 60lbs I believe, makes it for a risk free install. The 42" it replaced was well over 100 lbs.I feel it's necessary to mention ABT customer service. We had noticed there was a sale on this TV (on ABT) a few weeks after it was purchased. It took a 30 second conversation and we had the price adjustment back on our credit card...amazing!

I bought a Plasma TV as my research proved that they have better picture quality than LEDs. I myself confirmed this with a couple of my friends who own a plasma and the picture was visibly better. However, Samsung is not the best when it comes to plasma technology. The picture is average at best, and there is too much reflection on the screen, further degrading the viewing expereince. Add to it the subpar sound quality, and this product does not even come close to meeting expectations. The highest volume setting was at times not audible enough. It comes with only 2 HDMI ports, which is an impediment in connecting with add on devices such as video games and streaming devices.Overall, a below average product and definitely not worth the money.

After doing some research, I felt this was the best TV for the money - just under $800 for a 60 inch plasma. The plasma offers a slightly better picture than the LED Tvs, so I was looking for the best plasma for my money. It was easy to setup. At first, I thought it wasn't bright enough. There are 3 standard settings (Standard, Movie, and Dynamic), and it comes set to Standard. Standard is too dim for most environments. We found that Movie was brighter and the best for our room. Dynamic, the color was a little too intense for watching sports. We are very happy with the picture quality. The only criticism I have of the TV is what I knew before I got it: that if we have a bright lamp on in the room, that it reflects on the TV. There is another Samsung Plasma that is much more expensive that has better anti-glare protection (PN60F8500). This was noticeable in the store, with the two TVs side by side, but I couldn't justify spending over $2,200 for just that one feature. The other features that are included in the higher end model were not iimportant to me. This TV does not have Wi-fi, but we didn't need it as we have a Blue-Ray with Wi-fi. This model has just two HDMI inputs whereas the higher end model has 4, but we run all of our components through a receiver that has 5 HDMI inputs, so all we need is the one input that goes from the receiver to the TV. Bottom line, it's a great TV for the price.

This is my 3rd Samsung Plasma TV. I really like this TV and the picture quality is hard to beat at this price point. This is great if you like watching Sports or playing video games.

3rd Plasma in 6 years and really enjoy the Samsung Plasma TVs. Just wish they would come out with a mid-level priced Plasma.

Samsung said temperature and humidity was in acceptable range for outdoor use. Thus far it looks and works fantastic.
Very nice picture at an awesome price

This television is easy to setup and works very well. The only negative is that once it is mounted on the stand, it is not very rigid and can be moved front to back easily. Side to side movement seems to be much more rigid but front to back movement feels that the mounting bracket could break if very much pressure is applied in either direction. A wall mount would solve this issue.
I love plasma TVs!

This TV replaced our "old" Samsung 58 inch TV. Colors are awesome with no blurring from games or movies. Biggest complaints would be the stand and that there is no ARC support for this TV (what year is this again?) Other than that, picture looks fantastic. I didn't need all the web tv, network connectivity, blah blah blah. I have a ps4 with all the apps I need. I can't say anything for the sound since I use a receiver. I run HDMI into the receiver HDMI out to the TV then run Optical out from the TV into the receiver. Hope this helps :) I went TV hunting and none of the LEDs compared to this plasma (with the exception of the UHD) oh man those look beautiful.
Great picture & price! Long live plasma

We're using this as our main family TV. It gets about an hour of usage a day. So far, we are very happy with the picture and audio quality. It does get a little warm, so it's probably using a lot more energy than the old DLP that it replaced (and that we loved!). It also has a faint hum/buzz, noticeable when the TV is muted. But I think that's a plasma thing.
