A full complement of decoding formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Pro-Logic IIz and DTS-HD Master Audio, give you genuine 5.1 surround sound with truly lossless audio. Every sound, from the softest whisper to loudest explosion, will sound exactly as it was intended when created. To ensure your system always sounds its best, the VSX-823 receiver features the Pioneer MCACC System, which can intelligently self-calibrate your speakers and optimize their sound for your specific room.
Connectivity Options Abound
A wealth of inputs allow you to link virtually any device to the Pioneer VSX-823, giving you high definition sound for all of your entertainment sources. Six HDMI inputs offer connectivity for a DVR, Blu-Ray Player, video game systems and more. The Pioneer VSX receiver line can pass through both 3D and 4K UHDTV signals, making the VSX-823 compatible with the most cutting-edge broadcast standards. Up front, a Made For iPhone Certified USB lets you plug in nearly any iOS device and play music through your Pioneer receiver. That same port will also accept any standard flash drive, with the receiver decoding most popular digital music formats.
Cut the Cord On Your Music
If you think that wires are a remnant of 20th Century technology, you'll be pleased at the wireless connection options that the Pioneer VSX-823 offers. Support for Apple Airplay lets you wirelessly stream music from your iPhone, iPod or iTunes right to the receiver. HTC Connect offers a similar functionality for the Android users with HTC smartphones. All other Android users can take advantage of the Pioneer ControlApp, which beams music from any smartphone to the receiver. As an added bonus, ControlApp also functions as a remote, letting you control all basic functions of the VSX-823. Built in Pandora® and vTuner® internet radio services round out the receiver's internet-connected bonus features.
