This TV is excellent. The light weight makes it easy to handle and install. I was able to do it by myself, the TV that this replaced was 3x as heavy and it was an LCD from 2006. The only design issues I have is from the silver base and from the lack of older plug/connection types. I feel a mat black stand would be better universally instead of the metallic chrome looking stand. The daylight does reflect off the stand at time and I am researching some ways to black out the stand without making it look tacky. The next design area was the lack of connection types. I have an older Xbox360 and would have enjoyed a VGA connection, as well as a DVI connection for a computer. Although newer connections are mostly HDMI, there are still a lot of components out there with VGA/DVI. I had to do some research as well about the "Soap Opera Effect". When I pulled the TV from the box, I watched a movie on Netflix. I noticed instantly that the actors looked "weird". Like it was filmed with some cheap camera or that the movie was not the final cut... something was just off. The Soap Opera Effect or SOE is caused by the Auto Motion Plus setting. AMP is best used for Sports events, nature documentaries, disney animation or other cartoons. AMP is horrid for Feature Films and other Cinematic viewings. Once I learned about 240 hz, AMP and SOE, I was able to configure the TV to its best setup based on what I was watching. Once I got this fixed, then all my negative opinions went away with the fantastic picture and sound quality from the TV. I hope this TV lasts as long as my old Samsung LCD (whic is still running fine). Very happy with this purchase.

The viewing angle is limited in a sense that you can still see the image, but the color becomes distorted. In other words, the picture setting is seen differently at an angle (horizontal) compared to looking at the TV directly in front. For example, from 45 degrees of center, the picture looks more washed out than if you were sitting directly in front of it. Glare is also a problem if you have this TV in rooms with lots of windows.

A nice TV with some caveats.

Comments about Samsung 65" Silver LED 1080P 3D HDTV:
Nice picture, great size, reasonable number of inputs. The dual core processor / apps seem to be very sluggish for a lot of functions. Apps like Netflix and Amazon instant video are a little clunky. Web surfing is nearly impossible with the responsiveness. (This is running on an extremely fast Google fiber connection.) The smart app interface is very poor, hardly customizable at all - nice selection of apps - but you are forced to view all of the apps they recommend. If you want to customize it to say only show the 2 or 4 that you actually use, you're out of luck - you have to waste time constantly scrolling through all the junk you have no use for. You can add some additional apps, but you're forced to use a base interface which has little to no customization. Likewise the pages you slide through are not particularly customizable. The remote. Cool, in that it is very simple - touch interface eliminates 90% of buttons. Leaving just a few. The buttons - such as the power button seem to need repeated pushes to activate (may be a deliberate power saving feature.) The track pad interface is a little slow / quarky, but generally simplifies things. Once you figure out bringing up the virtual remote on the screen and flipping between interfaces on the virtual remote that helps with accessing additional features. All in all a great basic TV, as for the Smart TV features, I would suggest people buy a higher end one - or use a third party streaming media player / media PC. Although those features are nice to have in a pinch. The TV chassis itself is very slim, love the super slim bezel, and it's pretty light weight.

I looked for a 3D tv for quite awhile. This tv is everything I could ask for. The picture quality is excellent, bright colors and deep blacks. The active 3D is more emersive than passive 3D. The depth of the 3D picture us better than going to a theater. The included 3D glasses work very well, I recommend investing in rechargeable glasses (they're more sturdy). I highly recommend this set of you are looking for a good 3D tv.
It's what I always wanted in a TV!
It's always stunning when I come home. I love it!!

I looked at several brands before deciding on this Samsung model. My friend has already purchased a similar model and was very happy with it. I also checked on Consumer Reports and reviewed their buying guide for TVs. I'm very pleased with my purchase and my Samsung experience.

I absolutely love my Samsung TV. Me personally will only buy Samsung products. I still have my very 1st TV from Samsung a little 12 inch I bought with my paper route money in 1998 that still works flawlessly!

After much thought and research we settled on this T.V. I had sworn for years that I wouldn't buy a 3d t.v. until we no longer had to wear those horrible glasses to watch. We had been looking for a new t.v. because our 60in big screen had to have a lamp changed about every 1.5yr because I have it on almost 24/7. We knew we wanted Led, and larger than what we had. I wanted 70- 80 inch, which I could find plenty of for the price we wanted but after comparing many I settled with 65 Samsung. It's refresh rate is the highest, the color and sound are great. But so many now have 3D so we tried that on 3 diff models and then this one with the powered glass surpassed them all and changed my mind. We also do not have cable/ Sat, instead we get all tv off Antenna and record through our computer which it makes that picture even more beautiful, but now if I want to watch Netflix , Hulu etc, I dont have to have the pc on , I love having apps that I can access right off the tv. and access my phones photo"s, as a photographer I send my camera's photo's to my phone and now I can look for flaws on my big screen without any hassel so I don"t miss a thing. With the voice recognition I can do things on the tv without using my hands which helps my carpool tunnel syndrome I only wish this tv came with the motion control camera and a one time color tune up. also I recently put most of our dvds on a hard drive I can plug directly to the tv and watch my library I don't think you can go wrong with picking this t.v.
The picture quality is so impressive especially when using Netflix. You feel as if you are in the picture or sitting in the front row of a play. Although I didn't buy this model for 3D, I was super impressed when watching Aviator. The WOW factor is unbelievable. The only drawbacks are the navigation & remote. They are too complicated. There are so many features, I find it hard to get back to the main menu and just watch TV. At times when I turn the TV on, the home page is shown and I can't get out of it. It drives me crazy. The remote does so many things that it is not user friendly or intuitive. I love the picture and would buy this model again, but I would ask for better instructions on how to use the remote & nav. features.

I shopped around and looked at a lot of flat screens from plasma to led/lcd's and Samsung has more bang for the buck, loads of feature and tons of apps in app store. "Just love my 65" Led 7100 3D"
