Purchased this Blue Ray to add to the Samsung Smart 55 TV I recently bought. The Blue Ray was easy to install and the quality of the picture and sound is excellent. The unit automatically updated all apps and firmware upon start-up; thus the installation experience was painless. Only thing that might have helped is a reco in the installation process as to the ideal HDMI port to use; I used the one labeled ARC. As I experienced before with ordering direct from Samsung; their order process and delivery were flawless. I will continue to purchase Samsung products.

No a good product because its too slow
This product is too slow when loading movies that are streamed from the internet. Also, it constantly freezes during the course of the movie while it continues the download process. Would be better...Read complete review
This product is too slow when loading movies that are streamed from the internet. Also, it constantly freezes during the course of the movie while it continues the download process. Would be better if it could download the entire movie at one time so that the playback can be continuous without interruptions. Guess I'll have to upgrade to one with more memory.

The 3D Blu-Ray Player works great with my Samsung Smart TV

It was time for a new TV. So I bought a Samsung Smart TV and also upgraded to a 3D Blu-ray Player. It is fantastic! The 3D aspect can be seen from almost anywhere in my room! Plus all DVDs look great on the smart TV. And to my great surprise, Netflix works wonderfully over my wifi network. The only small issue I have is that the controls on the unit are black and cannot be seen in anything less than sunlight. It has taken me 3 months to get used to hitting the right position on the circle to eject and play my DVDs.
Works well, but often slow
This product is pretty good. The buttons are difficult to use and it is often slow to connect to the Internet.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The features are extremely impressive, much more than the competition offers. I do happen to have a defective unit that at times quit in the middle of a program. However, the unit is under warranty and the technical support team is second to none. You can allow their team control of your unit in order to have them analyze the problem. They verified that my unit had a glitch and arranged that I can return it for repair or replacement. I am very impressed with Samsung and the total dedication that they offer their customers. Really reliable product
Have had this unit in steady use for several months now with absolutely no issues. Don't use the 3D capability too much, but it works fine when I do. Plays 2D blu-ray disks flawlessly and upcoverts DVDs without stuttering or pixelating. Stays locked on to the WiFi network for uninterrupted streaming and background software updates. Streaming apps include Amazon Prime. Web browser and alphanumeric keyboard entry are awkward, but no more so than any similar unit without a motion sensitive remote control. All in all, the best BR player I've come across for the cost.
Release too early
I found that the blue ray player did not work when received, most blue ray disk would not play and the player stop playing blue ray disk and had to be returned, when the replacement was received there was a firm ware update that enabled the player to play blue ray disk, Samsung has always been the first choice for all entertainment products, this was released before the engineers had insured that it would work, their failure is not acceptable, an FMEA would have alerted them that there were problems.

Worked great until it stopped working

I bought this unit in January, 2014. It is now May 2014, not quite 4 months, and it refuses to recognize ANY discs. Not Blu-Ray, DVD, or CD. Everything I insert gives the message "No disc inserted". I tried the full, hard reset and that did nothing. I expect more than 4 months service out of a Blu-ray player. I am VERY disappointed.
