I have owned the dryer 3 months now and I only like it more. I have its matching washer too. The dryer is so quiet and efficient. I am always happy to hear it's pretty song. The inside light is a brilliant innovation. The clothes are always dry, never needing a redo so the sensors work great. I just used the steam feature for my new napkins which I discovered are not permanent press. This crumpled mass of linen and cotton came out smooth and foldable. I was going to scream if I had to start ironing my daily use napkins but the dryer saved my voice. I love this dryer.

While I understand why companies have gone to digital with appliances it is the single biggest complaint I have about all of them. This one is no different. I don't want an appliance that thinks for itself. Case in point. If you set the dryer to dry a load and let it monitor itself for moisture(part of the energy efficiency programming) they often won't get dry. A dryer that won't dry clothes is an engineering and design fail. For the most part you have to set the dryer to a set time and by pass all of the energy efficiency settings for it to be a slam dunk. And I know what will be the first thing to fail on this unit...the circuit board or control unit that controls all functions. My last dryer lasted about 30 years, I expect this thing to last about 10 at the most. Digital sucks...analogue is king in appliances. This unit is in my business and will be used several times a day for towels only so it will be interesting to see how it last over the long haul. I bought it not because I had a choice but rather it was one of the only units at the store they had in stock, my choice would have been no frills. I would never recommend any appliance with digital or computer control functions, but try finding one in modern times without.

still waiting for perfection
By frustrated Mom
guess I wanted it to be perfect.. the sensor feature for dryness isn't accurate, clothes come out damp in spots. shouldn't have to use the bulky option for 6-7 tshirts. would like it to continue to tumble until I can get to the clothes, don't like that it stops and wrinkling sets in, hard to hear the signal when done, so don't always get there in time. maybe I'll come to like it as time goes on
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have had the matching washer/dryer for almost 2 years now and they are superb. No issues with the appliances, easy to use controls, and they are quite quiet. Also, you can fit a really big load to minimize the number of loads washed. I highly recommend.

This is the best product I've ever purchased for our home! The steam setting is my favorite and I use it every day!
Love my dryer!

I was uncertain of the purchase, as it was needed simply because our previous dryer didn't fit with new home. We weren't purchasing washer, wasn't sure about non matching, etc. But, oh so glad we did! Love the setting options an it's so quiet. The steam option is fabulous! Still learning some of the control settings, but so far great!

Christie's Appliances gave us a great deal. Electric dryers are like belly buttons, everybody has one. To find a good gas dryer is a lot harder. The Whirlpool Duet fills the bill - quiet & efficient. Don't forget the companion washer for the two units compliment each other.

We bought this to go with a front-load washer in order to stack them in our small laundry area. We have had it almost a month and could not be happier. The large drum holds everything, including comforters and dog beds. The wrinkle guard with steam is a nice added feature. It lost one star because you cannot completely customize all settings.

The dryer is three weeks old and working great, we haven't used the steam yet, but if it is like the rest of the machine I don't expect any problems
I never thought that I could love a dryer but I do!!

All the features and the large drum just blows me away! It made doing laundry so much more enjoyable. Thanks Whirlpool!
