Overall we have been very satisfied with our washer. Our water bill has been cut in half because it uses so much less water. Our electric bill has also decreased because the washer is very efficient in spinning the water out of the laundry, reducing dry times. With the reduction of our energy costs this washer will pay for itself in a little over two years time. It also is large capacity, fitting our king size comforter without the fear of tearing up the washer or the comforter, and also increasing the size of regular laundry loads means i am not doing laundry as often.Dislikes that we have - that sometimes the washer does not fully dissolve the laundry detergent packs (have tried several brands, all for he machines) and -that the touch panel can be overly sensitive (just brushing against the washer can change the settings if I don't use the settings lock).Overall this has been a great investment for us. I would recommend to a friend.

I'm not sure where to start. So first I find out I need to leave the door open and get it open soon after washing. The first thing I think of is my $80 dollar coffee pot has more advanced technology than this $1200 washing machine. Why can't the door pop open when load is finished and a small "fan" dry out the seal around door???Next, holy cow this thing is loud, and it was supposed to be fairly quiet, but I guess that was a relative rating.I do believe it does a better job cleaning than our old HE top load, but not to the level of the old style washing machines.Next we find out about suds and drainage errors. Always use HE detergent and even tried different brands. Sunday it took 10 hours to do 1 load of laundry, as I tried to wash, took out, ran 2 clean washer cycles (1 afresh and 1 bleach), put load back in, took out, empty wash cycle, put back in and still took several attempts to get load through a complete cycle. How can there be any energy savings when the pump runs all the time, even though the washer is empty? I don't expect this machine to make it 1 year, as the pump will be burned out and hopefully it doesn't get hot and do more damage.I guess this probably won't get published, but you asked for the review and I'm just being honest.

We bought this machine based on the repairman's recommendation. Our LG was just under ten years old and it was starting to have issues about every other month. None of the repairs were major until this last one; the control board was shot and no longer available. The Whirlpool has been great. Much, much quieter than our old LG. It has yet to go unbalanced during the spin cycle and it doesn't vibrate the whole fist floor. The high spin cycle also gets the cloths very dry cutting down on dryer time. Multiple cycles for really dirty stuff if needed. We like the control on the front leaving us with a nice flat top. So far we are very pleased.
Whirlpoop never disappoints

I have owned Whirlpool washer/dryer combinations since 2001. I have never been disappointed; even after having trouble with the washer. Whirlpool stepped up to the plate and took care of everything. They couldn't repair my old one and gave me a new one. Yay Whirlpool!

This is the worst machine ever. If I had it to do all over again, I would buy any machine but this one.I have had it with this machine turning off mid cycle, even with the controls locked.how can you call it "control lock" if the light is on and all I have to do it lean against the machine for it to power off mid cycle? The last time this happened to me, the washing machine had 7 mins to go in the cycle. I was unloading the stacked drier when I leaned against the power button and it turned off. (?!!!!) I have even put plastic over the button to stop this but it is not a touch sensitive button. It is a pressure sensitive button. Nothing can stop the machine from powering off. I have to restart these loads over, from the beginning.
I love this washer! It has a lot of features so you can be choosy how you wash your clothes especially those special items! It takes longer on some cycles but clothes are clean. Noise is low especially lower than my previous LG. Not sure you can get a totally quite machine so don't focus on that but the features. I would buy this again.

Great Features & Cleans Clothes Excellently

I was a bit intimidated at first with all the features as this is my first HE washer but found it was very user friendly. Washes the great & was everything I expected. The only thing I don't like is it takes a long time to wash & you have to make sure that you clean it at least once a month. I also wipe down the seal, door, & soap dispenser after each use to avoid mold as I was told HE front loader washers are susceptible to getting & then your clothes will smell.
