Does your washer dance around while spinning a small load of laundry? Do you find strings and sometimes whole articles of clothing wrapped tightly around an agitator? Tired of wiping dirt and grime from the top lip of your washers drum? Are you irritated that your clothes are done washing but your dryer hasn't finished? Always buying laundry detergent? This one washer solves all that! I purchased it in August of 2013 and have four months of use out of it. It is without a doubt the best washer I have ever owned in my 41 years of existence. I can wash clothes quickly because of this washers large drum size. I like that the washer automatically adjust the the time it washes a load on the fly. Often the load is done in much less time then the digital display says it will take at the start of the cycle. We have the washer in our basement. The humming noise of the fast spinning drum is not even audible from upstairs. And speaking if fast spinning drums, even at a high speed the washer would barely cause a bowl of Jello to jiggle if set on top of it. The clothes come out dry enough that it takes longer to wash a load than dry it. Very impressive. It uses very little water and we only use one to two tablespoons of powder detergent per wash load. The clothes come out smelling fresh and clean. Speaking of smells one of the things we were concerned about from reading reviews about front loaders was that they developed a smell. We have not noticed any smell at all. The washer has a large rubber seal in front that a tiny bit of water collects in. We leave a rag sit on top of the washer and dab out the seal when we are done washing for the day. It takes about 5 seconds. We also leave the door ajar as recommend when not doing laundry. I'm convinced that anyone who says the washer developers an oder simply does not take care of their machine.

The design of this machine is impressive. It is beautiful to behold, the blue lights are gorgeous, and the musical tones of the buttons are lovely. The machine fails though to do the basic job of a washing machine. The detergent cup: this cup is used to add powder or liquid detergent, softener and bleach. the selector for powder or liquid detergent is awkward, but one can live with it. Never had a problem with detergent dispensing. Softener on the other hand is a problem. Rarely does the machine dispense all the softener. The dispenser cups also remain filled with water even after the wash cycle is complete. This causes moisture to remain in the area and leads to mold. We have to clean this frequently. The inside: good capacity, nice stainless steel inside, I like that anything that makes it into the machine (coins, pins, etc.) makes its way under the gasket instead of in the tubes/lines. Washing performance: horrible. I cant figure out why, but the machine does not wash well. I have tried many different settings, only to always find uneven soap or water distribution and uneven cleaning results. a few times I have had some items not even washed or wet at all. there's something in the design that prevents the detergent and water and cleaning from reaching all clothes equally. The Normal wash cycle just doesn't wash. We have had to settle on a bizarre combination of settings to get our clothes acceptably clean. The spin cycle is impressive, and when clothes do wash, they spin very well and leave little moisture, saving time and energy with our dryer. the inside does get moldy very quickly, so always leave the door open, and NEVER leave a washed load in there for more than 30 minutes. I also wish there would be a rinse-only cycle. In short, this machine was largely designed by a marketing team or amateur engineers since the washing performance is so poor.

Great capacity but loud
from Charlotte, NC, United States
This is the second purchase of a whirlpool duet I have made. I love the front load and energy efficiency. Honestly, the larger capacity was not necessary for me and I would have been just as happy with my old one (we moved). I really like the cold clothes feature where the spin time is great since I hand dry my cold wash. I also enjoy the towel feature. The machine is loud to start when it is taking the detergent in with water. I think it should be quiet throughout the cycle. I also do not think this model cleans as well as other duet models (consumer reports has an average rating for normal cycle cleanliness). For these reasons I rate it good instead of excellent for this model but continue to enjoy whirlpool duet machines both in design and usage.

I bought this 3 months ago, and have enjoyed using it. Pros of the machine include its high efficiency (and lower water use), washing quality, large capacity, and variety of settings (quick wash for an item or two, and washes customized for larger/bulky items like bedspreads). Cons of the machine include the fact that the door doesn't close as smoothly as it first did, and washing times can often run longer than the initial estimated duration depending on the weight of the load. Consumer Reports talks about what a great machine this is, and I agree. Worth the price and great for anyone from an individual to a larger family!
I bought this model in October and have been very pleased overall. This is my first experience with a front load model and am happy with the cleaning ability of the washer. There are two items that are a down side for me; you are not able to manually adjust the water temperature, you have to rely on the pre-selected, and the liquid detergent tends to leak out when you use the "add a garment" feature. settings.
Very pleased after 4 months....great machine

Purchased this washer about 4 months ago and we have been very pleased so far. Clothes come out clean and smelling very fresh. Our water bill has actually gone down a couple of dollars a month, but more importantly energy usage is down since the clothes come out nearly dry from the high-speed spin...drying time is drastically reduced. We are also able to wash larger loads than with our previous washer, which is great. Plenty of great features on this machine - 11 cycles, a steam option, tumble fresh, delay wash - and Whirlpool quality.

We are glad we chose Whirlpool. It's a great product and Miles Maytag is a good seller.

I live in California where the drought is extreme this year. This washer uses far less water then the previous washer I had. At this time, that is a great feature because we are being penalized if we use too much water on a monthly basis. However, the clothes come out clean and fresh.

We bought this 3 months ago and we love it. It has a lot of features for you to be able to do different things.
Good so far
We bought this washer a couple of months ago. Works really well thus far. Make sure you leave the door and detergent tray open a few minutes after each wash. Also recommend buying the product to clean the washer every 30 washes or so. Note that the spin cycle can be very fast, so that mighg concern you the first time you hear it. Recommended.
