Great washer just loud on spin cycle

I love my Whirlpool front loading washer. It's efficient on detergent, water, and electricity. My clothes get really clean. It tells me if I am being energy conscious with my selections, has great features, lots of cycles. My only complaint is the loudness of the spin cycle. It's in the basement and I still hear it loud and clear. Otherwise it's fantastic.

Bought the washer on 5/10/11 its now 8/15/11. Had been very pleased with the product up to a week or two ago when during the spin cycle (no matter the setting) the washer is so loud you can't even hear a person talking next to you, even in a different room. . It sounds like a jet engine is on. Up to this problem the spin cycle has been quiet. Scheduled a service call in 4 days so I will update this post as to how well the service dept is and does. Product is under warranty.

My wife can't stop telling me how much she loves her new Duet set. Scored major brownie points by getting the Duet instead of replacing ours with a conventional set. I'm no laundry guru, but it does seem like the laundry piles from our family of five are dissipated quicker with the new set.

I suggest that you purchase the extended warranty. Our first machine did not last a year before it began to make a horrible noise. Then broke down and had to be replaced...Lowes honored our warranty. So far the replacement machine seems to be working fine.

THIS UNIT WORKS WELL AND GETS CLOTHES REALLY CLEAN IT DOES HOWEVER MAKE MORE NOISE AND "WALKS" MUCH MORE THAN OUR 5 YEAR OLD UNIT OF A DIFFERENT BRAND BUT IT QUIT. OUR HOPES ARE THAT THIS ONE LASTS LONGER. IT LOOKS VERY GOOD, AND HAS MANY FEATURES WE WANTED.

I bought my Duet after using my mother's washer on vacation. I have four kids, and was totally impressed with how many clothes could go in one wash! Time saver? Absolutely! I have enjoyed a clean laundry room, and knowing I can always be caught up with my laundry now. I have enjoyed not having an unbalanced load anymore. I love being able to wash my quilts at home, and not the laundrymat. I can see that clothes are getting cleaner and smelling fresher when they are done.I would highly recommend this washer, with the matching dryer, to accommodate the load size. So, so glad I bought this machine!

I had purchased this washer after my old top loader went out. I was astonished how quiet this front loader runs! Although the wash cycles run a bit longer than a top loader, my clothes are only damp when the cycle is finished, which takes much less time in the dryer. I like the different options the washer has, which have yet to use them all. If you're looking for a great quality brand, you'd be foolish not to consider this super item!
