Sony Alpha A58 Black Digital SLR Camera - SLTA58K
Sony Alpha A58 Black Digital SLR Camera With 18-55mm Lens, Model SLTA58K
Sony continues to revolutionize the world of hobby photography by combining professional features and image quality with proprietary advancements to make affordable, easy-to-use DSLR cameras. The Sony Alpha A58 DSLR Kit is part of that trend, using Sony SLT technology to gain an edge over other beginner DSLRs.
Sony Alpha A58 High Resolution Sensor
At the heart of the Alpha A58 DSLR is a 20.1 megapixel Sony Exmor HD CMOS sensor, with the resolution needed to capture even the smallest details of the scene at hand. Your photos will look stunning on a monitor or TV, or even as extra-large prints. Sensitivity up to ISO 16,000 lets you take natural-looking photos in low light without needing a flash. Auto HDR feature and a variety of scene modes can add just the effect needed to make your photos totally unique. And if you prefer video to still photos, the Sony Alpha A58 also shoots vibrant Full HD 1080p video, at 24 or 30 fps.
High Speed Autofocus and SteadyShot Image Stabilization
Since all of that resolution doesn't matter if your shots are blurry, Sony outfitted the A58 DSLR with an array of focus technologies that help make every shot sharp. An advanced 15-point autofocus system utilizes three highly-sensitive cross-type sensors to ensure focus in the most demanding lighting conditions. Capture fast action with continuous shooting of 5 frames per second, while Lock-On AF mode accurately tracks moving subjects, helping get every shot in focus. And to combat camera shake during low-light or when using heavy lenses, the Sony A58 uses SteadyShot image stabilization technology to keep the camera sensor steady, lessening the likelihood of blurry photos. By building this feature into the sensor, every lens in the Alpha DSLR lineup is stabilized.
Versatile, Compact Body
The unique body of the Sony Alpha A58 DSLR will help you get the best shot in any situation. Sony SLT technology replaces the optical viewfinder with a high-resolution OLED screen that displays a simulation of the final exposure. So while you can frame your scene the traditional way—with the camera to your eye—you'll see the real-time results of changing any exposure settings. You'll always know exactly how your shot will turn out before you ever take it. If you're moving up from a Point & Shoot camera and prefer to compose using the LCD screen, the Sony Alpha A58 improves upon that experience, with a 2.7-inch hinged rear display. Face it upwards and shoot low to the ground without getting your hands and knees dirty, or flip it pointing down and raise the camera above your head for unique birds-eye shots. However you can imagine a shot, the Sony Alpha A58 will help you achieve it.
Features:
- 20.1 MP Exmor® HD APS sensor with 5 FPS continuous shooting
Every scene is captured beautifully, from corner to corner, with fine details and rich tonal gradations thanks to Sony’s proprietary Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor. Its large size delivers high sensitivity, attractive defocusing effects, and low noise in wide-ranging shooting situations including dimly lit environments. Impressive 20.1-effective-megapixel resolution also brings every detail to life - Translucent Mirror Technology™ accelerates AF performance
Sony’s Translucent Mirror Technology™ simultaneously directs light to the image sensor and AF sensor on a continuous basis to realize full-time live view shooting and accelerated full-time continuous phase-detection autofocusing even during HD movie shooting. It’s the cornerstone of Sony interchangeable-lens camera technology - 1080/60i/24p Full AVCHD™ or 1080/30p MP4 movies
Create movies of amazing clarity at Full HD resolution with full-time continuous phase-detection AF, the same swift, accurate focusing used during still photography. Movies can be recorded at 60i for super smooth playback or 24p for a rich cinematic look. You can also use P/A/S/M exposure modes to expand your movie making creativity - Lock-on AF for even easier focusing of moving subjects
Now it’s easier than ever to keep moving subjects in focus. Using Sony Translucent Mirror Technology and subject size detection, the new Lock-on AF continuously adjusts target frame size based on various subject characteristics and dramatically increases the in-focus rate. Even if your subject’s face cannot be detected, it ensures smooth, stable focusing using the optimal AF point — without having to search - High Contrast SVGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF
The OLED viewfinder makes it easy to shoot stills and movies in almost any lighting condition and allows for live-view shooting thanks to Translucent Mirror Technology™. The ultra-sharp, bright 1.44 million dot display provides 100% field-of-view frame coverage that is perfect for accurately monitoring results as you shoot - Up to ISO 16000 sensitivity with advanced noise reduction
With a new Exmor™ sensor that features the same adaptive noise reduction technology from Sony’s flagship SLT-A99V, the SLT-A58 easily offers a wide range of sensitivity from ISO 100 to ISO 16000. Even in dim lighting, you can shoot beautiful photos with natural tonal gradations and low noise — without using a flash. Auto ISO provides outstanding results in most lighting situations and you can select settings manually to suit particular occasions. Excellent low-light performance is made possible by cutting-edge features like the same area-specific noise reduction as found on the a99 - Auto Object Framing intelligently fills the frame with your subject
Easily create studio quality portraits of still lifes, moving subjects and even macro close-ups using the iAuto internal exposure intelligence found in the SLT-A58. Simply photograph the subject and the Auto Portrait Framing feature will save an additional, optimally framed image in portrait or landscape orientation. Combining Face Detection and By Pixel Super Resolution technologies with Rule of Thirds, and Auto Object Framing provides enhanced images for beautifully composed and appealingly balanced full resolution portraits - SteadyShot INSIDE™image stabilization
Image stabilization reduces blur by compensating for camera shake. SteadyShot INSIDE™ image stabilization is built into the camera body itself. You'll reduce blur with every A-mount lens because it provides compensation equivalent to approximately 2 to 4.5 additional steps in shutter speed, allowing for more hand held opportunities in low light or longer focal lengths - Advanced 15-point AF system with 3 Cross-sensors
To maximize the value of Translucent Mirror Technology, Sony incorporates Phase Detection AF of great sophistication. Three cross-type sensors to maximize focus precision - Large 2.7” Tilt-able, 460K dot Clear Photo LCD screen
Tilt it up or down to frame high- and low-angle shots that would otherwise be hit-or-miss. Fold it flush to the camera with the LCD exposed for shooting or protected for travel - Auto HDR built into camera
Captures more scene dynamic range than a single exposure can handle—and more range than photo film. Combines the best highlight detail from one shot, the best mid-tones from a second and the best shadow detail from a third for one incredible shot. Captures in a split second. (Recommended for still subjects.) - Picture Effects
Ordinary scenes become extraordinary photos and movies with Picture Effects. Choose from 11 modes and 15 effects that significantly increase visual impact by adjusting camera parameters and applying advanced processing techniques - Multi-frame NR
Experience incredible low-light shooting without a flash. The camera captures six images in a fraction of a second. Combining the data from all six, it creates a single image with a reduction in noise equivalent to two additional steps of ISO sensitivity. Sensitivity selectable up to ISO 25600. (Recommended for still subjects.) - Hand-held Twilight
Get cleaner and sharper nighttime pictures—beyond the capability of traditional cameras—without using flash or a tripod. The camera captures six images in a fraction of a second. Combining the data with separate algorithms for still and moving parts of the picture reduces blur, minimizes noise and enables extraordinary detail
