This is the second full week that we've had our new refrigerator, and, on balance, we're very happy with the new unit. I thought I would break out the three categories in the heading and report on it from that perspective. I'll try and remember to update my product ratings and review at six months and twelve months. Esthetics - My wife had not seen the refrigerator before it was delivered and set up(what admirable trust she placed in her husband), so when she saw it in its appointed space she remarked that it updated the style of the kitchen greatly, and I must admit it does have a hi-tech look and feel to it. It has a nice stainless steel surface and appearance that complements our other kitchen appliances and so fits right in. The crew who set it up did a nice job of balancing it and that is very important so make sure you get the same effort. Take a level balance to it if they don't and check it before they leave. Grade A. Convenience - The flex drawer is really nice. If you have young children, they can reach it and get after school yogurts or cheese items and the drawer opens very easily. We use it for cold drinks, fresh fruit, and dog meat items. It can be set to multiple temperatures depending on the items present. The bottom freezer drawer is cavernous and holds small items in the top tray, and large frozen turkeys and other things in the bottom section. The lighting is superb with bright LED lights illuminating even the far corners. The ice maker works great but do remember to set it up correctly for the first time and every time the ice bucket is emptied. Samsung did a great job thinking of product planning and finding how people use their fridges and designing a product around that. Grade A+. Quality - The digital inverter compressor is a great breakthrough in long life and quietness. Unfortunately, our unit had a vibrating rattle that sounded as if it was coming from the sides of the fridge but that was only a radiated noise. When the compressor came on, the noise would start and only end when the compressor quit. It was really loud and irritating. So we placed a service call and the technician came out and fixed it in ten minutes, and he seemed to know right where to look. He removed the six or eight screws holding on a metal plate where the compressor is located and the water tray at the bottom was touching the evaporator coils. When the compressor started, it would vibrate the tray on the coils and cause the noise, which was amplified within the enclosure. He bent the tray away from the coils and the vibrating rattle completely disappeared. Now the refrigerator is extremely quiet and doesn't interfere with the audio on the TV which is not too far away. I would like to see Samsung test the individual refrigerators for at least twenty-four hours and catch as many of these gremlins as possible before the refrigerator is delivered to the customer. It would make for a much better end user experience and greatly reduce their warranty costs. Grade B-.

rust spots have started to appear on the 'stainless' steel fridge doors and freezer doors which is deemed just a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered under the warranty Always had great products in the past from Samsung, so thought the fridge would be good, but turned out to be a terrible, very expensive mistake. also the ice production is poor, way less than my old fridge I used to have and the veg crispers are tiny, not large enough for a regular shop

important items to check before purchase
in addition to measuring hight and width it is important to measure depth. I almost didn't and it would have extended to far out. Refigerator is so quiet I do notknow that it is running. Liked the fourth draw very much. The folding shelf is great for exended shelf hight to store wine bottles. The extra money paid for counter depth that we needed was a little pricey.

For the most part this is a great frig. The shelves in the door are bif enough to put a gallon of milk on them. My only complaint is the ice maker. The ice maker is far below standard for this high end frig. The amount of ice it makes is very small. The information on it when we got it says that it will produce a large amount of ice. Not even close. If you have more than a caouple of friends over and want to serve drinks, the ice maker can not keep up. Very disappointing on that. Over all is a nice machine though. We'll probably get a stand alone ice machine for parties.
Nice and Quiet

I bought this almost 6 months ago - absolutely no complaints - I have counter depth due to limited space but still can fit in things more than i thought - Few things before buying a stainless steel Wet hands leave marks on door or anywhere you touch so its bit pain to keep it clean specially with small kids Be careful with scratches when cleaning, make sure cleaning with right kind of piece of cloth -
Love the features

First time having a refrigerator with crushed, cubed ice and cold water. The digital read out tells you the temp for the freezer and refrigerator. I've read reviews that it runs loud, well just the normal hum which is a quiet hum.
Nice features but lets work on the shelves

The ice maker on this unit is wonderful. It is a much better system than the other brand we had before. It seems to have ice on demand where other ones we would have to wait. The outward appears is sleek and stylish. The only drawback to the counter depth model is just that. The depth on the right side where you can push a shelf back to make room for taller items is no very narrow in depth. It would be nice if it were bigger to accommodate a full gallon of milk better. I am nervous putting one there. 2 liter pops work ok there.
We love it but...

So far we're very satisfied with the style and the capacity for us empty nesters also it fit like a glove in the opening where our old fridge was. We chose the counter depth model. Wouldn't recommend it for a family though, it would be too small. My only complaint is the Master Icemaker box is hard to remove. We had to wait almost two months for delivery because it needed to be shipped from Korea but the wait was worth it.
Looks good has great performance and features.
I've only owned this refrigerator for a month but compared to the Samsung fidge it is replacing I would have to say they're getting better at it. This ice maker takes up less room makes ice faster and doesn't seem to jam. The doorseals are better the doors and drawers seem to snap closed as if the seals were magnetic. It seems to run a bit louder than the last one but still quite. The lighting is better and is well laid out while taking up less space in a counter depth. In fact we are able to get the same amount of groceries in this one at 23 cubic feet as the 29 cubic foot one it is replacing. Hoping it is durable because I really like the looks, inovations and performance so far.

This refrigerator doesn't handle tall items very well. It has a removable and fold up shelf but if you remove that shelf then you have to find somewhere in your house to store it. This is my first icemaker so I can't compare it to anything else, but if I'm sleeping on the family room couch and the ice keeps dropping loudly, it will keep you up. No butter compartment. Shelves are strong and heavier than most other brands I looked at. I like that it sounds if you leave the door open.
