This is the most convenient and spacious fridge we have ever owned. My wife loves the storage capabilities and roll out features.A lesson we learned was that upon installation we placed all of the food and drink items we use constantly in the left side door, which contains the in-door icemaker unit. We were not pleased with the size or quantity of ice produced.Duh!!! We quickly figured out that the family was opening that left door 90% of the time and of course; left it open for periods of time. This degraded the quality of the ice. We simply moved all those high use foods, butter, bread, soft drinks, milk, wine, etc to the right side and our problem completely went away. The ice is now always of quality, size and plentiful.

This is my second try at a review. The first one was "moderated". I have had 2 service calls and an unofficial service call on this refrigerator that was purchased December 27,2013. All for the block of ice and icicles that form on the upper back and ceiling. My refrigerator compressor will not stop running and the noise is a high pitched whirling sound. Still not fixed. Still waiting on yet another part.

I bought this two months ago and it completely stopped working. I had to wait over a week before warranty service could come. Meanwhile I lost over $500 in food plus had no refrigerator over thanksgiving which ruined the holiday for my family. Repairman finally came and new parts have to be ordered...so now another week... he did charge it as a temporary measure and was nice and polite but I found out that this unit was worked on before my purchase for the same problem. I'm angry. I did purchase it on clearance but it was no value since I've lost $500 in food and weeks of having no refrigeration. Buyer beware.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Nothing but trouble.
Constant problems, repair after repair. Still leaks water from ice maker. While under Warrenty Kitchenaid sends out repairman time and time again! Replaces part after part and still doesn't fix the problem. Awful awful awful. Pretty refrigerator don't be fooled. Buy something anything else.
Definitely wouldn't buy again

We purchased this refrigerator in March of 2014. If you're looking for an appliance that will last a while and not cause several hundred dollars in repairs in the first couple of years of ownership I would definitely avoid this one. After the first year I stared noticing frost collecting on items in the freezer, it would come and go so thought nothing of it. Then in August of this year, after only 2 1/2 years we've had to replace the entire ice maker at $413 and two months later had to replace a sensor in the refrigerator that prevents the water line in the ice maker from freezing, that cost us another $272. Absolutely appalled we have had to spend $685 to fix an essentially brand new appliance after paying over $2000 in the first place. The refrigerator we replaced was a Kenmore that we had for 20 years without needing a single repair. We bought Kitchenaid because we thought we were getting a high end appliance of great quality that would last another 20 years. Very disappointed. I have lost confidence in the quality of a Kitchenaid appliance.
Major Design Flaws - Don't Buy It!!
from Falls Church VA
Beautiful looking fridge, but that's it. Cheap thin plastic tabs hold the drawers together, and we have replaced all the drawer fronts at different times (they fall off very easily) and have only had this fridge a couple of years. If you put ANYTHING in the drawers, the fronts fall off! They can't take normal everyday usage. Extended warranty would not cover it (said it was cosmetic, not functional... really??). Repairman showed me the tiny plastic tabs and laughed, that is all that's holding the drawer together? I complained to KitchenAid customer service who would not replace them either. Bad but expensive fridge, all show and looks but cheap construction, and untrustworthy company, too bad they won't stand up for their big name and back up their products. If one drawer failed, could be a fluke. When all three drawer fronts have fallen off bc of cheap plastic, that's a design flaw! We bought the Kitchenaid name, not knowing they don't live up to their reputation. Won't make that mistake again!
Nice appearance, low ice production
Really nice looking refrigerator. Too bad the ice maker does not work as well as it should. Any appliance this expensive should have a five year warranty. We bought an extended warranty and found out it is through a third party, just be aware! I f the ice maker isn't important I would recommend it to a friend.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This refrigerator is designed well and works nicely, easy to fit lots of food in here, adjustable, lots of options. Only negative is that the icemaker seems to overflow a bit, the freezing area bleeds out and i see ice on the insider of the fridge in places it doesn't belong. but its working fine.

We bought his refrigerator in 2013 along with stove, dishwasher, garbage compactor from KitchenAid. The refrigerator was loud from the beginning. But we overlooked this. In March of 2016 the freezer we out. 1 week later the top cooling area stopped cooling - called kitchen Aid repair and went through 2 service calls with different service companies before repair man was able to determine compressor was out. He replaced compressor - freezer worked but top cooling area will not get below 45-50 degrees. We called the repairman back - he told us to fill the refrigerator up with food and it would cool down. Called KitchenAid again the sent a different repair company who has been back 5 times - replace all parts they can think of and as of today October 22 - freezer and refrigerator not cooling at all - From March 2016 to October 2016 no refrigerator! SO tired of this! Waiting on repairman to contact KitchenAid to see what their resolution will be now. Gave 1 star or could not submit

We bought this a week ago, because we really liked all the features, including ice and water in the door, section dividers in the freezer and meat drawer, the special section in the freezer for boxed pizzas and the deep storage area in the right side door.
Great things about this fridge: beautiful to look at, insil

I am redoing my kitchen so I bought this to go with my kitchen. It is absolutely perfect! My builders built a box/shelves on it and it looks like one of those really high dollar refrigerators!! Can't beat it!!
