We've had this washer for less than 24hrs, but have done 5 loads of wash in that time (yes, laundry was piling up while we looked for a new machine).... and we're delighted with it! (So delighted, in fact, that I'm tempted to go door-to-door asking if I can do other people's wash.... I like watching it do its thing with the lid up, which is doable if you don't mind using a magnet to temporarily defeat the lid-open sensor.) It's mostly very quiet, although there are occasional pops & clicks which I suspect are normal and which don't especially bother or concern us.... but we'll hedge our bets anyway & buy an inexpensive 2-year warranty extension, just in case. The agitator works great! I'm reasonably sure that you can adjust the agitation intensity by choosing the appropriate settings / overrides, eg Colors, Delicates, Jeans, Hand wash, Soil, etc... We LOVE all the gee-gaws -- almost as entertaining as an ipad! The machine gives you a choice: (a) pick your cycle type plus preciseFILL and let the machine decide what to do, or (b) use the various overrides -- Soil, Temp, Spin, etc -- to decide for yourself the parameters of the wash program. We agree with all the positive reviews -- we've had it for only a very short time, but so far it seems like an excellent product, and way better than the 20-year-old model it's replacing!

Wanted to purchase a washer made in the USA. Hoped I was purchasing a washer that wouldn't spin the clothes to the point of permanently wrinkling them. The reviews I read were misleading because this machine spins so hard (even on the gentlest settings) that the wrinkles don't even come out in the dryer and forget hanging clothes up to dry, even ironing doesn't get the wrinkles out. The shiny metal tub of the washer is already showing water/mineral spots and it's only a few months old. They should have painted it the traditional enameled coating that wouldn't attract those mineral deposits. For the longest time after a wash load was over and emptied there was a powdery white substance left on the bottom of the tub. This powder settled all over the bottom of the tub and had to be wiped out after every load. The changing gear noises as the washer moves through its cycles are really loud and sounds like it's about to take off from my laundry room floor. I have stored my 25 year old washer & dryer (still working fine) in the garage just in case I can't stand this new washer and it's "new and improved HE" properties. Can't wait until they go back to the old technology that allows for slower spinning and adjusting the water depth. These properties might not be as energy efficient but your clothes turn out so much better and will last a lot longer because this new HE washer is spinning the life out my clothes. Wish I had bought a new washer/dryer 10 years ago before the manufacturers went HE.

Very Quiet, easy to use, cleans great
from Miami, FL, United States
We bought this unit a week ago and could not be any happier. The unit is very quiet and does a great job cleaning the clothes. We have been running the washing machine non-stop for about a week. Living in Miami, during the summer, with visiting family and a home pool, dirty clothes and towels are being washed daily/
Sorry I bought this washer

Always bought GE products, but this is a terrible washer. Clothes spin dry too long and washer is so loud. Quick rinse feature can not be set, (I've read entire booklet of instructions and have not seen anything for adjusting the feature.) Can't reduce or increase time of washing cycle. Fabric softner does not always mix well with water and I have two blouses that have big fabric softner stains. Don't understand why GE would manufacture and sell a product like this. I have had GE washers, dryers, stoves, microwaves and never had a problem.

Enough water to clean!

We exchanged a high efficiency top loader for this machine and like it much better. It does have a 'high efficiency' setting, but you don't have to use it. I am skeptical that clothes are really cleaned in the very low water settings on HE machines. You can have as much water as you want with this model. It's a bit noisy on the spin, but the wash cycle is quiet. Compared to the cost of other machines, this one was reasonable and does what I want.
New Washer works like a champ.
My old washer lasted over 30 years, so the bar is set pretty high, but so far my new machine has preformed flawlessly. It has tons of useful features of which I've only tried a few, but it has passed with 'flying colors'. Great machine!
so far, so good

1 day after installation and 3 loads of wash, satisfaction is achieved.

Washer met my high expectations on all levels EXCEPT the water level seems to be too low even on the highest setting. Clothes come out clean, but I must reset water level on each load.
It is so... quiet and it washes so... well

Love, love, love this machine!!!! Love the ewash cycle. One button does it all. Saves me money and at the same time, I don't even know it is on.

I bought this washer 4 months ago and am very happy with it. I wanted a washer with an agitator. I did my homework and found this one. It lets my choose my water level, AND the top does not lock. Two very important items for me.

Cleans better than my old Kenmore front load with less water usage.
