I didn't know what I was missing!
Comments about Panasonic 360 Quick Multi-Directional Steam/Dry Iron Alumite Soleplate:
This is the first iron I have purchased since college (25 years ago). I still use that iron today. However, I saw this one and said thought I would go for it. What a difference. Its like going from my Ford Pinto in college to my BMW X5! This thing rocks! Awesome steam, light weight, and fantastic non-stick surface. The the dark color of the water tank was a bad call on the part of the designer but that is the only bad thing about this iron. Its build like a tank too. Therefore, I may never need to buy another one! Note that I have only used it once but I am actually looking forward to firing it up again! Enjoy!

I like this iron the design is very helpful of ironing something with the hard to reach places. Very durable being used in house my and my two son's were replacing irons often. I love the no drip and the ease of use. I rank this one with as one of my favorites. The only plus I would have wanted to add may be a retractable cord.
re-discovered design bonus - TWO pointed ends!
from Appleton, WI
I owned a 1940's-era iron that was pointed on both ends. This was a tremendous feature! I was delighted to see that Panasonic had re-discovered this design, and improved upon it. This is a GREAT iron with every 'bell and whistle' that you would expect.

This is a wonderful iron. And I bought it because I could always trust the Panasonic name. The iron has a great flow of steam. Gets out wrinkles I didn't even know were there and leaves the clothes with a crisp look. HOWEVER.... the person who designed this iron probably never had to use an iron in their life. Because of the purple color it is impossible to see the water level when filling the iron. It sounds like a little thing, but it is so annoying. I have taken to keeping a little flashlight next to my ironing board so I can shine it at the iron and see the water inside. If it wasn't for this problem I would have given it a 5-start rating.

Over the hump on design-I'm happy
By Coach Vickie

I was looking for an household use iron with a little more wattage and great steam for pressing large table cloths on a regular basis. I went to Consumer Reports, I'm a long-time member, this iron was on their recommended list. I read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. I'm very happy with my purchase.
Makes other irons seem like The Stoneage
Pricey but I would do it again.

Love this steam iron. Heats fast, lots of steam, heavy and well balanced. I checked prices and Abt.com had the best price. They really shipped fast. How many people really enjoy ironing! I do.
