We've had our washer for about 4 months and it's been great! It's quiet, spins things hard and overall does a good job getting things clean. I have two small things to point out that might be helpful to someone...first, it is very deep. My kids can't help put stuff in the dryer because they can't reach in that deep...I feel like I'm crawling in to get that last sock sometimes. And often, things get really twisted and tangled, which in turn makes a lot of wrinkles if you weren't going to put those items in the dryer. But overall, we're happy happy happy :)

I have owned several Whirlpool products in the past and never had an issue until now. This product is simply poorly designed and a poor performer. I have read and followed the instruction manual to no avail. I have a large family and the washer has been used many times over the last six months and my wife agrees - it simply doesn't work. The clothes will not rotate (we used to call it agitate) in the drum, and those on top tend to stay on top. Pants and sheets usually become twisted and knotted together. There is simply no way sheets can be clean if they are come out like a wad of Twizzlers tied in knots. Stay away from the top loaders. We will be going back to a front loading machine as soon as possible.

Great washing machine

We love our new washing machine, very quiet and smooth running.
from Essexville, MI
I purchased this washer just before Christmas and so far it has met all my expectations. I love that it uses less water, does an excellent job at cleaning clothes, is super quiet, never has gone out of round, chooses just the right amount of water for each load and gives me so many wash cycle options. Because it's capacity is larger than my old washer, my laundry time is cut in half. I love the glass lid, glad I chose it. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Very unhappy with the performance of this model. Should have bought a front loader.

The washer twists the clothes up so that I have to unravel them before putting them in the dryer & then they come out very wrinkled. Also it leaves soap residue in the wrinkles.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
A new experience in washing clothes.
from Lodi, CA, United States
This washing machine is completely different from any other I have ever used. There is no preset water level like low, medium, high. Instead there are sensors that tell the machine where to stop filling and washes your clothes with the least amount of water they need. Since I live in California where learning to live in a dry state seems to be our future, this machine is perfect. The tub size, even though labeled 'standard' is more than large enough for my normally large sized loads. I am very happy with it, and the last thing to be seen is how long it lasts.

Had a Samsung front load machine before this. No comparison between the two. This is a far better machine. Quieter, better balance. Great machine!
I've had the machine 3 weeks, it's ease of use, fantastic. Washes beautifully, tub easy to wipe down, low maintaince, small to huge loads. Quiet running
Love my new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum 4.5 cu.ft. HE Top Load Washer
from Sumner, IL, United States
My last washer and dryer set was new in 1995 and they were also Whirlpool. I have been wanting to get a new set and just kept putting it off until January 19, 2015. I decided after 20 years with the same washer and dryer it was time. I just love this washer and I am very, very pleased with it.
large wash tub, easy to use controls
from Pennsylvania, United States
Love the large wash tub, much easier to load when washing bulky items like blankets, mattress covers, etc. Also easy to unload with the big lid opening.
large capacity, less dryer time
from Nevada, United States
I decided to change from a front loader (smell, off balance, difficult to unload) to the top loader. I am shocked at how much it can handle, it isn't that much larger than the front loader I had, but if I tried to put that much in my old one, it would all fall out on the floor! It seems to clean well, the clothes do come out quite dry, I see a lot of comments about the wrinkling, but I set mine on MED spin instead of high and they still come out much drier than in the past, a quick delicate spin in the dryer and I have not had a problem with the wrinkles not coming out. It is not all that quiet though, it sounds like an airplane when it gets started, but so far that's about the only draw back I can think of.
