We've had our washer for about 4 months and it's been great! It's quiet, spins things hard and overall does a good job getting things clean. I have two small things to point out that might be helpful to someone...first, it is very deep. My kids can't help put stuff in the dryer because they can't reach in that deep...I feel like I'm crawling in to get that last sock sometimes. And often, things get really twisted and tangled, which in turn makes a lot of wrinkles if you weren't going to put those items in the dryer. But overall, we're happy happy happy :)

I have owned several Whirlpool products in the past and never had an issue until now. This product is simply poorly designed and a poor performer. I have read and followed the instruction manual to no avail. I have a large family and the washer has been used many times over the last six months and my wife agrees - it simply doesn't work. The clothes will not rotate (we used to call it agitate) in the drum, and those on top tend to stay on top. Pants and sheets usually become twisted and knotted together. There is simply no way sheets can be clean if they are come out like a wad of Twizzlers tied in knots. Stay away from the top loaders. We will be going back to a front loading machine as soon as possible.

Happy with purchase

We bought this washer this summer and have been very happy with it so far. It is easy to use, does a good job, can hold more than our previous washer and is an energy saver.
WORSE THAN MY 18 YEAR OLD WASHER
from Salt Lake City, UT, United States
We bought this washer 6 month ago, and by now we have to replace already almost half of our clothes! This washer spits at best at the clothes, the water level is that low. I washed some dark blue new pants that were simply very dusty from having been forgotten on the top of a closet. After they were dry I could see the shades of the old dust simply pushed further into the fabric, but not washed out. Bulky items like blankets don't get moved around enough to even be washed, the spin cycle, even on gentle, was strong enough to rip several seams on the twin size blanket. It finally made sense to me why the seams on 3/4 of all of our t-shirts were suddenly ripped. I understand that the longer and more powerful spin cycle reduces drying time, but I don't think it should destroy the sewed seams! During the remodeling process of our new home I had to wash a lot of white t-shirts. All of them appear now gray. At a trip to our old home I washed 2 of the same t-shirts in my old washer and was surprised how white they were again. Both homes are connected to a water softener, so it was for sure not the quality of the water that grayed my whites. I think this washer pushes the dirt further into the fabric, due to the low water levels, at best. My theory was even more confirmed when I started to wait until the washer was totally filled and the detergent was mixed in, I simply pause the cycle now and add 1-2 buckets of water, so the water level is about an inch below the wet clothing, and finally visible. Even my very dirty whites are finally getting white again, and my darks look somehow cleaner again. Since I really don't want to keep doing the bucket trick for the rest of this washer's life, I'm thinking already about getting rid of it. It simply is not a good washer without the deep water option, described in the manual that came with the washer, but mine doesn't have it.

Gets the Job Done
from Winnipeg, MB, Canada
Couldn't be happier with the performance of my new washer and dryer. Just enough features, simple operation, water and detergent efficient, and looks good too.
Love the options

The fact that this machine will weigh the load and figure out how much water to use is a wonderful feature. It is so easy to use just load the tub select the option push a button and poof your done. It's nice and quite an extra plus.
This washer is AMAZING!
This washer can hold a king sized comforter. It is super easy to use and the features it offers are EXACTLY what my family needs.

We have had the unit for about 3 months now. Massive capacity which is energy and water efficient, and gets the clothes clean very well. Hard to get used to the low water level which is part of the design....it is different than the traditional agitator post and full-water tub, but it does the job. Love the control panel and ease of use.

Great washer with weird flaw
from Sedro-Woolley, WA, United States
We upgraded from an older top loading washer and I am very happy with the increased efficiency and load size. This washer spins your clothes so they are practically dry with less water which saves on our water bill and electric (from drying.) My one complaint is about a weird flaw (and I hope this gets fixed in future models) is the lock that keeps the lid shut. For whatever reason, they manufactured this washer with a plastic lock that ended up breaking within a few months of ownership instead of spending a few more bucks for a metal lock. Without the lock engaged, the washer will not operate and the repairman said it's not so simple for a homeowner to replace themselves either.

This washer replaced a front loader I never really liked. I was skeptical that I would like this but find that I do. The glass top is interesting but it is a smoked glass so you really do not get a great view of the wash. It is important to load your wash around the perimeter of the tub and not over the center agitator and do not overload. You may be tempted because the tub is large (larger than necessary). The fill water will cover most of the laundry and the agitation is good so I believe it cleans well. I also noticed my laundry is softer than with the front loader and I am using the same products. There is a cycle for sheets that should be used with larger materials such as sheets, drapes and shower curtains. I washed a shower curtain on normal load once and it ended up covering the entire agitator and all the laundry in that load - not good for the shower curtain or for the washer I imagine. I will mention also that it is a quiet machine. Have had this a little over a month and so far very happy with this one.
