This washer leaves a dusty residue on clothing that is tough to remove. Its very obvious on dark clothes. It also builds up mildew very quickly if the lid is not left open for aeration.Odors build in this machine without consistent use of Afresh.Cycles times seem a bit long.Otherwise, washer is ok.Noise is not much of an issue. Vibrations don't move the unit due to the pads it sits on.

I love my new washer. Its so quite!!
from Rochester, NY
After using our Whirlpool Cabrio washer for a year, we are still happy with it. The technology takes a bit getting used to, and some stains definitely need to be pre-treated, but it is quiet and reliable.

I bought this about a month ago. Very different from the old washer that fills the tub with water so I could see the water to soap sloshing around the aggitator. Initially I was concerned about the small amount of water while the clothes were swirled around the tub and the jet engine taking off noise, but my clothes appear to be clean and undamanged by the motion before water is in the tub. I don't like that the lid locks so I cannot see the action inside the tub, but I guess they are all like that.Large tub handled king size bed blanket well. Seems to use less water. Distribution of soap, bleach & softner work well. BUT you can't rinse out the soap, bleach and softner cups since no water enters the machine while the lid is open.Appears to be a good product for a reasonable price. Taller than old machine so not recommended for short people as I can barely reach the bottom of the machine to locate & retrieve the ever missing sock.
The smell comes with time

This was our first HE Top Load Washer. We liked the idea, but after we washed a particularly smelly load of laundry, we can't get the smell out of the washer. We have run various wahsing machine cleaners through it and it still smells. We haven't found a good way to clean it yet.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
HE Makes it easier!
from Plano, TX
Wasn't sure how we'd like the HE until we got it, but so happy we did. It's easy to load and unload has ample room for a family of 4, and uses minimal water. The buttons and display are intuitive making it easy to learn. Even though we recently had a new washer and dryer this one is so much easier to use!
A complete waste of money
I bought this washer about a year ago. I noticed after the first load that something wasn't right. Clothes were coming out after a complete cycle with dry spots on them. Other issues I had were that the clothes were not coming out any cleaner, they were coming out covered in lint, dark clothes were coming out with white marks on them, clothes were tangling up mid cycle so much that the washer was shaking uncontrollably and I would have to stop it to take ten minutes to untangle the clothes, clothes were coming out extremely wrinkled so that after hanging them to dry they were a disgrace, and it was tearing some of my clothes up. I made all the changes they suggested, smaller loads, he detergent, less detergent, washing on bulky load setting so that more water was used, pressing the fabric softener button so more water would be used, washing on a regular cycle rather than gentle, and being sure to load the clothes loosely and not on the center, but I continued to have issues. I have since replaced the washer and washing clothes is no longer the struggle that it was for 9 months.

Love the size of the tub and cycle selections.Moisture wicked away like nothing I've experienced.
Terrible for Drip Dry
from Wenatchee, WA
About 60% of my weekly wash is cold-water wash, drip dry. This washer is horrible for that cycle! It leaves so much lint and dirt on the clothes they come out streaked and have to be placed back into a rinse/spin cycle. I am VERY disappointed. When I contacted the company they were equally disappointing.
A world of difference
from Minden, NV
After using a 30 year old hand me down washer for many years the new Whirlpool washer has made the clothes come out cleaner and so far and can see a savings in operational cost.
