Being recently single, buying a new washer and dryer wasn't something I was going to take lightly. I wanted to make sure I made a good decision because I don't plan to make this large of a purchase again for a long time. And, I chose to buy a washer/dryer set first and will have to put off buying a refrigerator because I can't afford all three right now. I did research and knew I didn't want a front load washer, but had read reviews that some top loaders caused clothes to be extremely wrinkled. This caused some concern because I didn't want to have to iron. Another thing I had read was that some new top load washers are extremely noisy and it was recommended not to buy them if the laundry room was close to living areas. Anyway, I took a chance and bought this top load Whirlpool and couldn't be more pleased with it! Wrinkling is absolutely not a problem! Clothes come out practically dry because of the efficient spin cycle, but they are not wrinkled any more than any other washer I've owned, maybe even less. As far as noise is concerned, my laundry room is very near the family room and noise has not been a factor at all. One of the best features of this washer is the size of the tub! I can fit a king-sized comforter in it which means I don't have to take my bedding to the laundry mat! I am absolutely happy with my decision to buy this wash machine and would be happy to recommend it to anyone who asks for referral!

I have wanted a washer without the middle agitator so that I could wash bigger batches like my queen comforter, etc. In reading the reviews many mentioned the large loads, including large comforters, etc with great results. I just purchased the cabrioWTW8000 and was disappointed to read that only small comforters should be put in. My question is how do I do a large load including my comforter and keep the center open? Doesn't seemed like I gained any more space then I would have had with an agitator. I really know I am going to love everything else about the machine. I did a lot of looking and felt this one would suit my needs the best. But I am am looking for answers about the loading. Betsie.

Comments about Whirlpool Cabrio High Efficiency Washer:
I bought this machine about 3 months ago and I'm very happy I did, for the most part. The machine has a cycle for basically any type of wash; whites, sheets, heavy loads, or just a simple rinse and spin, etc. I noticed that it doesn't take as long to fill up as my previous washer with an agitator did. And the clothes seem to be coming out nice and clean every time. There are 3 different slots; one for detergent, one for fabric softener, and one for bleach; which I love. The only thing I do not like about this washer is that I bought a 4.5 cu ft washer, thinking I can load it up to the top with no problem. This isn't the case. And no I don't cram it full of clothes so they don't have any room to tumble, I just loosely lay them in on top of each other. When I fill it up to the top with normal clothes (not bulky items), the spinner always gets uneven and thrown off track and the machine reads "uL". Basically stating that I need to take some weight out in for the machine to spin properly. And in the midst of this, all my clothes are being tangled amoungst each other, some cases possibly being torn. So what I got to be a "larger washer" with more cubic feet in order to do more laundry in fewer cycles, actually turned out to be a waste of space. If I would of known that, I would of just paid less money to buy a smaller cubic foot washer to do the same amount of laundry. But all in all, even though I can only fill the washer half full at a time, the brand is great and I love the quality of my washes.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Is The Best Washer I Have Ever Had
from Collins, NY
This machine is user friendly and does a fantastic job of washing and wringing clothing. It has made my life so much easier. I would recommend this machine to everyone. I have never had a washing machine that I found as easy to use and as efficient as this one.
Energy efficient and easy to use

I've had this washer for about a month and am very happy with it. It is energy and water efficient, easy to use and has great options without having "too many" choices.

First experience with an HE washer and have only had this unit for a month, but so far so good. Appears to clean well. We've put some really dirty stuff in there and they came out clean. Enough cycles to address any situation, but I did notice that there was no cycle that defaulted to "cold" water. Not a big issue since you can override cycle defaults, but if you use cold all the time, you need to override each time you do a load (minor inconvenience). Would love to have an option to override water level, but as with most HE units, this one is auto-sensing and does not have such an option. Cycle times are reasonable in length, only slightly longer than my previous washer (and shorter than a competitor's which my parent's recently purchased). This is of importance to me as I don't want doing a load of laundry to be an all-day affair. Noise is reasonable, not whisper quiet, but not annoyingly loud as some other reviewers have stated. Overall, I'm very happy with this unit, got a good price, has plenty of features, so it's a good value. I would recommend it based on my experience thus far, but it's only been a month. The biggest test for me will be to see if this machine stands the test of time. I'd much rather have a machine with fewer bells & whistles than one that breaks down!
Lots of features

Love the large load handling
from E. TN
We love the large loads this washer can handle, it saves us time, water, electric,.. And with the high speed spin drying time is saved also. Much quieter than our previous machine before it died. I would definitely buy this machine again tomorrow if I had it to do over.
