We've had our range installed and have been using it daily for just over a week. So I'll start my review by letting you know that it is still rather new to us. I narrowed down my choices to this range because it had all of the features I wanted in the price point. The top of my list, just after 5 burners and large oven capacity was self-cleaning. I was disappointed to learn that nearly ALL of the competitors that offer the "self-cleaning" features have moved away from the pyrolytic method of self-cleaning to a "steam" cleaning/low temperature method (translation: the residue doesn't burn off - you still have to scrub afterward based on reading dozens upon dozens of reviews by unhappy owners of those ranges). Less important was having convection - but this range had it also! It does seem to shorten overall cooking time when it's used. I'm pleased that I can choose to use it or just bake/roast without the convection fan running. (With all of the places we need to be after dinner, anything that can shorten our prep-time is worth trying. Moving from electric to gas I can say everything is taking much less time to prepare than before on top of the range and in the oven.) We were converting from electric to propane, so not only is this range new to me but having a gas range is new to me as well. The most serious downside I've found, and I don't find it very serious at all, is that the vent at the top of the range does throw out a good deal of heat when the oven is running. It was mentioned as a negative in a lot of reviews I read but it was the only drawback I read about that I took seriously. Yes, you will want to keep your hand away from the vent especially when you exceed 375 degrees with this oven and consider what you have atop the stove during operating the oven. But seeing as its a range, you should be exercising this kind of precaution anyway. One think you might want to consider given the above is shopping just as carefully for whatever you have above your range, be it a microwave oven or a vent to make sure it will move air quickly enough to usher heat and steam up and out. (We also looked to Samsung for a microwave and found one with a 4 speed exhaust fan. My top consideration in a microwave was how it would function as a hood with exhaust and light. I will review that separately.) The burner configuration and size options are great. I did not buy this range for the griddle but I have to say I've found a use for it at just about every meal, whether it is to toast buns, fry eggs with no added fat, sear tuna steaks, or toast herbs or nuts, I'm finding that it's a convenience that I'll soon not want to live without. The non-stick works beautifully and it cleans easily. (Please educate yourself on how to care for non-stick surfaces for happy results! I've banned cooking sprays...) The controls are convenient and easy to figure out. The range looks great overall. Oh! And one of the best parts - the capacity! I can fit four of my sheet pans (10 x 151/2 x 1) in this oven or four standard muffin pans. I've never before had an oven that allowed them to fit side-by-side on one rack. This one is going to make holiday baking a breeze. (The storage compartment is rather small, but I'll give up some space there for this happy surprise.) Some reviewers complain of a smell that persists after the initial burn off of factory residue. I am not experiencing that problem at all. (It took only about 2 hours of use to not notice the initial odor any longer.) Lastly, there is a control lock option and an alarm will sound when the door is opened. We liked this feature because we have small children. While it won't prevent them from opening you'll get some warning that they're messing with the oven, which is better than most. All-in-all I'm very happy with this purchase and though I haven't used the pyrolytic self-cleaning feature yet, I don't anticipate any problems. (I hope I can update this review once I've used all of the features including bread proofing and self-cleaning.)

The stove top is very hot. Unable to get burners low enough to simmer, they continue to boil. I had a smooth top range before and I find this top very difficult to clean. Seems to soil easily and difficult to get spots off. I find the oven extremely frustrating. It never registers the temp it is set for. Indicates it is a set temp when it is not when preheating. If the divider is in it the bottom oven does not get to temp set for, but remains much lower. Takes longer for product to be done. For example took bars 10 to 15 min longer to get done than in previous stove oven, and they were less successful. Oven was set on bake. Another time oven set at bake 350 and highest thermometer went was about 313. With divider in the top oven seems to run hot, but could that be because it is a small space?? Runs about 25 degrees hotter. The oven seems to work best without the divider. A technician was here and was uncertain it could function any better. I have been baking and using an oven for 50+ years and have never had a problem with an oven before. I find this oven very frustrating. I do not feel the divider accomplishes what I would have expected. I would appreciate a call from Samsung about this issue.

Comments about Samsung White Freestanding Gas Range:
A beautiful addition to our kitchen. Range top burners very efficient with precise control. Oven controls and settings simple and straight forward and temperature control is accurate. In other words, with one exception, love everything about the range. That one exception is with the warming drawer hardware. The drawer must be removed to change the orifice in the pressure regulator when converting from natural gas to propane. Re-inserting said drawer is a nightmare. The drawer slides on either side of the drawer must be aligned with surgical precision or they simply will not mesh and allow the drawer to close. While I am not a highly trained appliance repair technician I am a Mechanical Engineer and have a basic understanding of such things. It took me over two hours of fiddling and two calls to Customer Service before finally getting the slides aligned so the drawer would close. So, a word to the wise. If you ever remove the drawer for cleaning or service be prepared for some frustration.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This is a great product with plenty of functionality and a design that compliments our kitchen. The oven cooks evenly and warms to temperature quickly. The griddle cooks evenly and the burners are well designed and have a good range of control. The control panel is nicely designed and the control panel offers many options for baking.

Strong on Cooking, Weak on Finish
from Sacramento, CA, USA
Installed about five plus months ago, this unit meets all of our needs. PROS: The continuous grates are perfect for starting food on a high temp burner and then slide the pan back to a lower temp burner when needed. The variety of burner temps is great for quick boil, simmer, high and low heats. The oven gets to temperature quickly and the digital readout is easy to read. Most of the controls are intuitive and easy to set. Most of the directions are on screen and easy to follow. We manually clean the oven interior and the surface is easy to wash. The center griddle burner is nice to have for those Sunday mornings where French toast is a must. But generally, it's not very useful. You cannot leave the griddle on because it gets in the way of any pan over 8" wide, like a large frying pan. CONS: My two cons are (1) that the stainless steel scratches too easily, (2) The burner caps and aluminum bases stain easily, and (3) the back vent grate is ill designed. (1) The stainless steel surface scratches so easily, I am amazed. I've used other steel tops and never had any scratches but this surface's tensile strength is extremely poor. If scratches bother you, then this is not the product for you. Many ranges will perform equally well. (2) The burner caps water and oil stain easily. The surfaces are a rough black iron finish that seems to hold the stains and no matter how much scrubbing, I cannot get them clean. The aluminum base that holds the cap, has a porous surface and it holds stains easily. Don't dare spill or splatter - you'll never get them clean. This is a no brainer: it's a cook top - food splatters. The surfaces should be smooth, like a porcelain or some surface that releases food and be easy to clean. These are not. It's always going to be a trial to keep the cook top looking nice. Lastly, (3) The pan grates have rubber feet to hold them in place without scratching. But the back vent iron grate scratched the cook top the day it was put in place. Mostly because the under-surface ends of the vent grate are not the same, one is smooth, the other has a locating bump. The mounting surface is not symmetrical - one side smooth and the other has a well to receive the grate's bump. Why? I have no idea. It's a design flaw in my view! I would recommend the unit because it cooks very well but I would warn the prospective buyer that if scratches bother you as the do me, I would look for a unit whose surface is durable, this one is not.
The product is beautiful

I haven't been able to cook with gas since 1999. This range is so much more than my range back then. I love the gas convection and the 5 burners. Like I said, it is beautiful.
This range is AWESOME! !!!

I ENJOY COOKING AND BAKING SO MUCH MORE, HAPPY JOY

We needed a new range right before Christmas. I jumped online to do my research and had actually found a similar Samsung range that we had intended on purchasing. That is until we came across this one in the store. It was on sale for slightly more than the original range we intended to purchase which was 1/3 the list price for this one. It was a no brainer. Anyway what sold it for us was the size of the oven which is huge with a large viewing window, the more powerful burners and the slide out rack. The all stainless steel surface cleans easily - much more easily than the typical porcelain top ranges we've owned. The oven heats up quickly and holds and maintains temperature quite well. One of the things I like is the "door open" warning you get if you leave the door open too long. The burners are powerful and provide a wide range of cooking temperature options. I've seen several complaints about being unable to find a "simmer" burner...Well, this range actually has two. The center burner with the griddle is great for foods like pancakes or bacon. The nonstick griddle cleans up easily. My only complaint is that the display panel. If there is any sort of glare it makes it very difficult to read. The background is stainless and the letters are black. Not a clever design. But the controls are easy to use and I like the fact that you actually have to press and hold the touch pad for 3 seconds to avoid accidental shut off or temperature adjustment.
The dishwasher is junk. Won't run a whole cycle because of "Overflow Sensor"
from Iowa, USA
Dishwasher works okay sometimes. But more and more regularly, it stops mid cycle to error out with a "Smart Auto" and "Heavy" lights flashing indicating that the dishwasher is "Over-Level Water Sensor". We had the board replaced in it during our first year of ownership, and I've personally replaced one of the sensors, but the problems always return. This thing needs a recall big time.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Simple Modern Design
Simple Modern Design - Does not include a lot of unneeded or unused features simple and does what a dishwasher is suppose to do - wash dishes stainless steel finish is a bit of a chore to keep clean and if anyone ever has a suggestion or product that works i would love to hear about it (i've tried many)

Very nice range
I have had many ranges in my life and this is the best. Easy to clean...grill is great and non-stick
Range has many features
We bought this range to replace our 30 year old one when we remodeled our kitchen. We needed a slide in unit and liked this model's many features especially the warming drawer and the dual oven capacity without paying the additional price for the double oven doors. It is still new to us and we will enjoy learning and using all the features this range has to offer.
