I installed this unit about a week ago, replacing a similar, 15 year old GE that had a burned out lower element, and 'possibly' fritzed control board due to the high heat utilized in the 'Self-Cleaning' feature. The new model has both, Self-Cleaning and Steam-Cleaning, the later using a much lower, component friendly, heat cycle to dislodge the spatter of baked goods from the interior walls and pan. Overall first impressions: Easy installation, user friendly control panel, two bright interior lights, isolated lower element for easy cleanup and quiet fan. While researching for a replacement unit, I had stumbled upon an 'installer's' remark, admonishing against even using the 'Self-Cleaning' cycle, because the high heat generated, over 1000 degrees, during the several hour cleaning process, will, over time, wreck havoc upon the logic board, and fail. Here's looking to decades of happy baking.

I bought this oven to replace a 19-year-old unit that had failed. That unit was slightly higher, so I was concerned about cutout height and checked the specs carefully. The specs show the unit's total height is 30 3/16". My cutout height is 29 7/8". So, I calculated that while it would not have the full 1" overlap at top and bottom, with the right height spacer rails installed underneath, the overlap would be 3/16" at the top, and 0" (even) at the bottom, which I could live with. After installation (including the bottom white trim that's supplied), I had a gap at both the top and the bottom. It turns out the actual height of the unit is not 30 3/16' but 28 3/4", a difference of 1 and 7/16". So the top and bottom gaps add up to 1 and 1/4". This is in hardwood custom cabinetry, so it will take some doing to get additional trim made to fill those gaps and match the cabinets. It's not the dealer's fault, it's GE's. I've requested that the dealer contact the GE factory rep to see if they will cover my additional installation costs that result from their publication of significantly incorrect specs. Bottom line: buyer beware. If a simple tape-measurable dimension is wrong (not only on the website but in the printed literature supplied with the unity and elsewhere), then you can't trust any other physical or performance specification.

I bought this on black Friday, just installed yesterday and I already LOVE IT!!!
Slow slow slow
To heat to desired temp takes forever and forever twice when heating via convection bake. And logic behind controls work flow (sequence of buttons to depress based on type of cooking and timer controls is cryptic st best.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

New wall oven thwart week before Thanksgiving. Such fun to get the 25# Turkey cooked along with plenty of room for the sides. Love having the controls at eye level!

I bought this oven over a week ago and I love everything about it! I used the convection to bake brownies in 25 minutes! Roasted a turkey and it came out golden and juicy! The complaints about fan noise are ridiculous. Who has a whisper quiet kitchen?? You will not notice the fan any more than a very quiet dishwasher. I absolutely love cooking and baking in it!
Convection oven worth it for flexibility.

I had to replace my GE profile wall oven and wanted a convection oven, but did not think the additional money was worth going up to a GE profile. The logo on this model is not attractive, sticks out, oven works fine so far, but like the older panel front better.
