I'm pleased with our new microwave and the ease with which ABT was able to help me. I needed the same microwave but the "newer" model and in stainless. I was worried about the installation and the removal of our old microwave and about getting ripped off. The experts at ABT price matched to a competitor's price AND our phone communication was fast and easy. The operator assured me that the microwave would fit in the same space and that installation would be fast. I'm learning just to call the experts at ABT before I stress about appliances! Our neighbor's microwave went out at the same time and I told her to call ABT. She was able to get her new microwave delivered on the same day. So I not only recommended it to a friend, we got ours installed on the same day :) The only bummer is that we had to wait 6 days for deliver/installation (which seems standard when I looked at other vendors).

Purchased in June 2014. Unable to install until September 2014. This whole process took two days because of the need to re-drill multiple times because the template was wrong.We planned to vent up outside through the roof as with our old GE micro. So I read the install instructions - (A) Outside Top Exhaust (vertical duct) had NO instructions that the blower motor direction needed to be changed so I installed the damper as instructed, then we installed the micro and connected the exhaust to the duct work. Only Install instructions for (B)Back Exhaust and (C) Recirculating showed instructions on how to change the blower motor direction. Finally I thought we were done - imagine my horror when I turned on the vent and it blew INTO my kitchen, NOT up out the duct work!!!. No where in the instructions are we told to test the direction of the blower and my model number was NOT indicated for specific shipping assembly - JNM7196SF1SS. I do not have the energy or ability to go through taking down this thing again to move the blower motor so unhappily I installed the carbon filter. Now I have exhaust into my kitchen which is NOT what I want. Because of this I cannot recommend the product.

Product quit after warranty - possible fire hazard

Purchased a new home and this GE model was included. Worked great for the first 17 months and then bad things started happening. The microwave would turn on by itself, make a humming noise and it was hot. Turned out to be the control panel, had it fixed and seemed like things were good. About 12 months later, experienced same problem; control panel again. Rather than replace another control panel, purchased another OTR microwave. Just couldn't take the chance that if we were weren't home, that the microwave could somehow turn itself on.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Very noisy rotating tray

I bought this about 5 months ago. For the first month it worked quietly like every other microwave we've had. Now the rotating tray is very very noisy. I'm hoping it dies before the warranty SE we have some small chance of getting it fixed. Though I really don't want to take it down either.

Very Dissatisfied with product

Purchased microwave a couple years ago, Worked fine until a couple days ago. The microwave will keep on running when it is off. Of course the warranty is no longer valid. The cost to repair is too high verses buying another. I'm also concern about other issues occurring if repaired. Will be very hesitant in buying a GE for a while.
Lasted exactly 1-year to the day

After 1-year the unit just stopped working. When I bang the interior top of the unit it will come back on and work for another minute or two. Then the thing shuts off. Like its not getting any power. Now what? Buy another GE?

Nice size. Use it everyday. So far so good. Hard to keep the stainless clean.
GIVEN THE COST OF THIS MICROWAVE I WAS SHOCKED THAT THE DOOR IS PLASTIC RATHER THAN GLASS AS IN MY PREVIOUS GE MICROWAVE.

This is a new house unit and we are pleased. It looks great, easy to clean and cooks well. The separate timer and lamp buttons are so perfect; great idea GE.
A bit of an improvement over the previous one.

I like most of the features of this new Microwave oven. My only objection is with the control panel. The buttons are difficult to read and the light behind the clock/timer is not bright enough in our very bright kitchen.
