I spent a great deal of time reviewing and comparing all the options in stainless steel ranges. I read reviews, i watched videos, i even got out a magic 8 ball !! But when all was said and done, this was the entry point I decided on, and I have not been disappointed. The center oval burner does a fantastic job of firing the griddle, which is included !! (an extra plus) and the oval is also a great way to keep 2 pots or pans warming while cooking other items for the meal. The Turbo burner is a very welcome feature. It not only boils water as fast as a specialty water kettle, but it is also idea for heating a flat bottom wok to sear and stir fry to your hearts content! The smallest burner simmers low without constantly having to keep an eye on it. The cooking surface has the diversity to allow you to find, or create whatever temperature you could possibly need to make things turn out "just right". The cooking surface grates are heavy duty and create a wonderful, almost seamless cooking surface and are easy to remove to clean under. The convention oven is whisper quiet and quite spacious It does a superior job of maintaining low temperatures ( 225* for slow cooking pork). The racks are not heavy duty, but are definitely heavier than other manufactures. And there is a depression on the oven floor so by adding a little water and starting the cleaning cycle you can steam clean the oven? The controls for the oven are easy to operate and you don't need to put your nose into the manual to figure out how to get things done. There is a lockout feature for children and a Sabbath option as well. All in all I could not ask for a better range to follow my passion for cooking. This range has all the features that I could ask for, without the extreme price of some of the competition. I have recommended this range to my friends and would not hesitate to share my joys with anyone interested in taking cooking to another level of refinement and pleasure.

I was initially very happy with this stove, but after using it for several months I have found some huge flaws. Pros - Quick boil burner - Ability to slide pots and pans across the burners - The easy of cleaning - Appearance Cons - General design - Heat rolls off this stove to the point of it raising the temperature by 10 degrees in the kitchen, fine in the winter, but not so great in the summer when it is 110 outside - The burners are high which does produce a great cooking surface, but the back of the stove was not raised to account for the high burners so it is uber easy to scratch the stainless steal on the control panel - The high burners also allow an insane amount of heat to roll off the stove - The oven allows so much heat to escape that the microwave above the stove can be used as a warming oven without it being on at all (a whole stick of butter will melt completely) - The oven temperature is not consistent, after being on 30 minutes the temp difference is 25 degrees and after 30 minutes the temp difference continues to grow to about 50 degrees - By no means is this a true convection oven, the fan rarely to never comes on - The middle burner looks great, but it is effectively useless since it is too small to cook much on at any one time The following are not design flaws, but factors that should be taken into consideration for those with children that are actually expected to learn to cook, people 5'2" and under, and those with arthritis/weak grip. - The grates are ridiculously heavy and large and cannot be soaked in a normal, two sided deep sink; they are so large it is actually hard to handle them at all - The stove is deep so it is hard for the back burners to be used by those whom are 5'2" and under I am very disappointed with the design flaws as I will have the stove at least another 9.5 years. The one thing I do know is my next appliance will not be a GE.

Comments about GE 30" Free Standing Gas Convection Range:
We really like it. The only complaint would be that the entire top and front get very hot from the burners (not just the grills).
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My new gas range is just what I needed. I enjoy the different size burners and the grill in the middle. The oven works wonderfully and makes beautiful cakes. I am really enjoying using it.
My Stove, My Friend

We had our kitchen remodeled. And this stove with the first major appliance be got. It arrived at our home several weeks before construction was done in our kitchen. It also came with a few insignificant cosmetic flaws. Like small scuffs and scratches, and ill fitting back panel, and the stainless steel wasn't molded correctly around the storage drawer. We called the place where we bought the stove. They in turn contacted a GE rep. GE sent a technician out and did a fine job fixing the molding on the storage drawer. But we didn't nit-pick over the scuffs and scratches as they were superficial anyway. Performance of the stove: Wonderful. I couldn't be happier with it since I do most of the cooking. What I like the best is how easy it is to clean (stove top only). I love that spilled food or splattered grease doesn't get into and underneath the burners. Long story short: We love our new GE stove.

Love the steam clean, Love the grates that do not get messy, Love the stainless. Not crazy about the gray top, but don't know what would be better. It's a great stove!

I bought this stove a couple months ago and the oven didn't work. GE came out and fixed it while I was away and I haven't been back to see how it works. BUT GE did come out in a couple days and had to order a part and was back soon as it came in. The service tech called my parents and they met him there and I'm hoping it's all better when I get back
