My previous GE range that I had for over 20 years was aging and I had been looking for another. I do not like Stainless Steel, White. I did like the GE slate appliances but a complete overhaul of appliances would be required along with a kitchen renovation so the new refrigerator would fit and that was out out of the question. I also wanted matching appliances. I presently have bisque colored appliances and wanted a range to that color. There lays the problem. Selection was very limited. Based on other reviews we decided to go with this GE range. It had my different sized sealed burners, a fifth burner for griddle and was convection. It did not have the warming drawer that I was looking for but I knew I was not going to get all I wanted in my color choice. I must say I'm very pleased. The initial set up took some time and after baking a couple batches of cookies had the oven temperature calibrated. I do like the grates but they are very heavy and rough. They come in three sections which in my opinion make it easier for cleaning. I've notice the two side grates that I use almost daily seem to be getting a little smoother from the cooking oils and is making clean up easier. I also like that it has a steam clean option but have not used it yet so cannot comment on that feature. The color is lighter than bisque looking almost white but it's growing on me. The only other ironic thing was that in just a couple of months the appliance bulb burned out and needed to be replaced. I don't ever recall replacing the appliance bulb once in over 20 years in my previous range. I do enjoy cooking on this new stove. It is well built and I am overall pleased with our purchase and would recommend to others. We have only had the range for three months though so if I'm able I will try to update in a year or two.

Comments about GE Bisque Free Standing Gas Range:
I'm glad we went back to gas. As soon as you turn off the burner it starts cooling off faster than the electric. I've noticed that when you open the oven door the light comes on, no matter if you physically hit the ON button or not. It also preheats faster than our old oven.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The color was the big factor.

The color bisque was the one reason, but features were just what I wanted.

Changed over to gas after my electric stove finally died. Couldn't be happier with the stove! The only downside is the first one I picked up was damaged (huge dent in the corner by the burner), got the second one and the paint was chipped above the clock and the left front corner on top was scratched! I decided the hassle of returning another was not worth the "damage" so I kept it! My advice, open up the box and check out the areas you'll see when it's installed.

I recently moved into a house that had a newer stainless steal electric range so I decided to buy gas. I bought this gas convection oven because my parents had one and the food was always fast, easy and evenly cooked to perfect every time. I choose this color instead of stainless because it is a hassle with fingerprints and this color blends in nicely with the rest of the neutral kitchen colors. However I did encounter one problem; the ignition switch was not plug in on one of the burners so when I opened up the back of the range to check it out I seen that the other plugs were loose, I plugged it in & tighten the others. Works perfect now but I guess someone was not paying attention on the assembly line that afternoon.

Purchased this range 4 months ago. It has made cooking and baking fun again. Food comes out evenly done and baking is a breeze. My cookies for the holidays were absolutely delicious. I have been experimenting with new recipes. And cleanups are so fast and easy.

We love our new stove. We like that we have different size burners and that they cook our food evenly. The oven does a great job when we are baking something.
