With Panasonic Inverter Technology you get delicious flavor along with great color and texture in the food you cook. The consistent delivery of microwave energy means delicate foods can simmer without overcooking. Which means dinner has the look and taste you expect -- without the wait.
The Sensor Cooking button takes the guesswork out of cooking by automatically setting power levels and adjusting cooking or defrosting time. The sensor measures the amount of steam produced and signals the microprocessor to calculate the remaining cooking time at the appropriate power level. So you get the perfect meal every time.
Panasonic has taken Auto Defrost to a new level with the Turbo Defrost, which allows you to defrost foods even faster than before. Panasonic Turbo Defrost technology is an advanced microwave sequencing system using the inverter's continuous-power delivery feature.
The Sensor adjusts power levels and calculates cooking and reheating times automatically for various food types, doing all the work for you.
A steady delivery of low microwave power keeps food temperatures constant — so stews, gravy, and even desserts remain warm until ready to be served.
Quick Minute Feature
The one-touch button allows you to automatically set the time in one-minute increments.
For a streamlined look in your kitchen, this Genius Countertop Microwave Oven can be installed in the wall using an optional matching trim kit.

Our prestige genius from 2006 stopped working. Ordered new one. Found the proper bits to take cover off old one. Found charred wires on door switch due to not performing cleanup on fan outlet. Cleaned fan outlet, replaced charred wire and switch and the old one is working fine. May take the new one inside and use the old one in my man cave garage. Great product but Panasonic has been unable to make it self clean dust over cooling ports. (Recommendations) Read the manual and when it tells you to dust and clean the air cooling port in the back once a year do it. Let it go for five years and what happened to me could happen to you!

Initally passable, but failed after four months
This is the second oven that I bought from Panasonic. The first one failed after 21 months, and the second after 4 months. The warranty of the products seems to be a myth

Comments about Panasonic Luxury 2.2 Cu Ft Full-Size Genius Countertop/ Built-In Stainless Steel Microwave Oven:
I found that the unit heated up much quicker than my old microwave. I especially liked the Genius Sensor for reheating refrigerated foods. The food was alot hotter than if I would have put in the settings myself. I was a bit surprised to see how big it was. I wasn't able to keep it where my old microwave was sitting. All in all I would definately recommend. Blueyes

Unfortunately, the Panasonic microwave lasted only a couple of months before it stopped working. Very disappointed. My last microwave was good for 9 years. I did not get any insurance.

It's big and powerful but still very quiet. Defrost feature works great
Very reasonably priced with an incredible array of features
Great features, concerned about quality

This Panasonic microwave replaced an almost identical 5 yr old model that had sudden overall failure. This model has the large capacity desired and functionality of the "inverter" technology that we wanted. We consider the price to be "mid-range", not really a "cheap" microwave. Our concern is our historical trouble with Panasonic product failures...a TV, cordless phone, radio and now the previous microwave, always moderately beyond their warranty. While this microwave was the only one we could find with all the features we wanted, we would have bought another brand had one been available.

Pleasantly surprised at the efficiency

it is larger and lighter than my older microwave and defrosts quicker. It heats leftovers quickly. I have not used it much but so far it exceeds my expectations.

I purchased this microwave after a lot of research. We've had it about three weeks now and it's been fantastic. We try to use all of the different settings and most of them are fine. The oatmeal setting didn't cook properly but the others did well. Fit and finish are very good. The only question I will have is quality and how long will the microwave last without repair. So far we are very happy.

Received the microwave and the door had many scratches on it. Around 12 small ones and one large one. Is a stainless steel model. Tried to work out a solution by calling the given number. Only recourse was to return it. What a hassle.
