Construction issues: The dishwasher arrived with one rear balance foot inserted at an angle. We removed it and tried to reinsert it straight, but it wouldn't go in straight no matter how many times we tried, so obviously the hole for it was drilled crooked. The left-hand stemware holder won't stay in the upright position; this is an issue with the upper rack itself, as we tried both stemware holders and the left side always falls down. Design issues: We're using the flatware basket with the covers lifted; who has the time or inclination to insert every piece of flatware individually? That's a bit much. However, the separated areas in the flatware basket could have used a couple more partitions as an option for people who don't want to individually load each piece of flatware. I may switch out the flatware basket for the old one I saved from our previous dishwasher because I'd suspected this might be an issue. The section of angled tines at the back of the lower rack is slightly annoying, but this might just be something I have to get used to as in figuring out how to load everything in a different way now. At this time, though, I don't yet see the point of the angled tines in that section. The "retro" decal on the front doesn't look nearly as good in real life as in photos; it looks a bit cheap. If the handle were chrome rather than stainless steel that would have gone a long way toward boosting the retro look of the piece. Other issues: We'd thought that almost any dishwasher would be (or seem) quieter than our very old one that broke, but this one isn't quiet as quiet as we'd expected. It does make different noises than our old one (hissing as opposed to wooshing) so this too is probably just something to get used to. We haven't used to the heated dry function yet because it seems like a waste of power, but we may have to start doing so; the dishes are dripping wet without it. We attribute this to our old dishwasher having such a poor seal that the dished were unintentionally air-dried by the time we'd unload them the next day. With this dishwasher, even two days of leaving clean dishes in it leave them as wet as just after the wash. The manual could more clearly state the cycle choices: for instance, we did try to use the dry function tonight, and after a while the front light turned green, which we assumed meant the machine was done. It was done washing, but not drying, so we gave up on that for tonight. The manual doesn't state that the light turns green it just says the light will go on. Odd. Things to like: The dishwasher has an overall clean design and should go well in almost any decor scheme. It's very unobtrusive, even with the handle.

Bought this dishwasher 1 week before xmas 2013 and it was not working from day one, the store i bought it from was great and they brought me another one in 3 days, and this one has been having trouble from day one. this dishwasher vibrates my counter top intermittingly and no repair man will stay long enough to hear it, and every once in a while during the wash it whines like something is not spinning correctly like the arm. the repair men have been out 5 times and no one except the first repair man have heard the noises im talking about. but yet no one stays long enough to hear it. the upper rack is not designed correctly, the glasses dont fit right and they always tip over, and the silverware basket is to spaced out and the silverware lays to flat to get clean,it needs more uprights so they stand up straight, my silverware all needs to be rinsed by hand after the cycle is done. im very dissapointed with the repair service for this machine, the first repair man ordered parts and then a different man came out the second time and he wouldnt even put the parts on because he didnt hear the noise . it still makes funny noise and im calling them again for repair.

Comments about GE Artistry 24" White Built-In Dishwasher:
This is actually our second dishwasher of the Artistry Series. Of all of the dishwashers that we have had, this one is by far the best. Gets the job done with no real issues. Just a good dishwasher made in the USA! Good job GE

Beautiful, efficient, and quiet!

I have run this dishwasher only twice so far. I am very impressed. I am trying out the various cycle settings to see what works best for different dish loads. The glasses and mugs have lost their spots, stains, and grunge! Yay!

It is amazing. It will get the most stuck-on food off, no problem. Also, it is the quietest dishwasher I have ever used.

Great look and works well

We bought this dishwasher to match the artistry series range we purchased for our country home in NH (to blend in with older painted cabinets). It is sleek and unobtrusive (just the way I wanted), and has lots of capacity inside. The silverware holders aren't 'perfect' but there are plenty of them. It has a dark grey plastic interior (not stainless). The controls are simple and has the delay wash which I like a lot.

This dishwasher is easy to use and very quiet. I like the features like the utensil holder that you can connect to the door in order to have more dish space. Brilliant!
Not a bad buy

The dishwasher is not bad at all in cleaning caked on food on your dishes. You might see small specks on the plat but it is not bad at all. Fairly quiet and it cleans well. The only thing that I do not care for is that it requires a significant amount of dishwashing liquid and you have to add it every time you run the dishwasher. Other than that it's not a bad buy at all.
