I bought this washer about a month ago. I did go to the site and read the reviews. It does make some noises but it is a new machine and machines change with the times. This has sensors to tell it what to do. How much water to use, and to use special detergent. I hardly have to use any. It uses less energy to run, less water, less detergent, I am saving all around. No large agitator in the tub, it spins the clothes practically dry. Less drying time in my dryer. I did not pick up the extened warranty. After a week I went back and bought the warranty, Since it has sensors I wanted to be safe on the warranty. You have up to 30 days from purchase to pick up the waranty.

After our reliable Maytag broke, we felt confident that Whirlpool would be the right choice for our new washing machine. We were impressed with the "no agitator" feature - it seemed we were keeping up with progress. Many of my washed items do not go in a dryer and are hung up to dry. This is impossible now. All clothes are heavily entwined and extremely wrinkled. Having done laundry for 50 years (I am 75), I have no need for instructions as how to do wash. However, I followed all guidelines that could supposedly eliminate the heavy wrinkling result. Pack clothes loosely, use warm water, use gentle setting, put a towel in with the clothes, etc. To no avail! I actually have to entwine clothing from twisted pajama pants. So sorry I bought this product. Wish I had my machine with agitator back. I now dread doing laundry. As far as energy savings - what energy savings (since I now have to iron most of my clothes)?

Comments about Whirlpool White Top Load Washer:
I bought this a few months ago. We like the features and how well it cleans. We had to purchase this size due to the size of our drain pan that's in our townhouse. The only bad thing is - it's very noisy. But I had read other reviews and was prepared. Besides the loudness of it, it's great!

We got this a couple of weeks ago. It does everything well, and the energy savings appear to be substantial versus our old washer. The only downside is that it is also noisier.
Really big basin

I love that I can now do just a few items at a time. Used to put everything together to save water. This is the best feature.
Most amazing Spin Dry Cycle ever invented.
By Dale Lawson
from Barrie Ontario Canada
We bought this without any research and had a 25 year old whirlpool that we had given away to a neighbor who is still using it. The New Whirlpool spins the washed clothes so dry that we only need to use our dryer for about 20 minutes for a full load. Whereas with the old one it was at least 60-90 minutes for the dryer cycle. We are saving a ton of money on the dryer usage. This washing machine also takes a huge load of clothes and is relatively quiet compared to the old one. This is a must buy for anyone looking for a heavy duty washer without the heavy duty price.
New Kind of Washer For a New kind of Clean!
from Alta Loma, CA
This review is after almost a year's use. Coming from a conventional washer, the cycling seems unusual, but that turned out to be a good thing. The lid locks, but user can press cancel to add, inspect, etc. and the load finishes it cycle from where interrupted. The real surprise with this washer is how C-L-E-A-N the clothes come out! I thought it was just our opinion, then relatives who had a down washer, came over and used it and sung its praise as we do. The clothes rinse clean, smell so fresh and keep their fresh smell because there are no residues left behind. We didn't know what we were missing till we started using this. The no agitator design allows easy wash of large blankets, too!
Very happy with my new machine!!
By Beach Villa
I am so happy with my new washer! Ive had it almost a month and it's very easy to use. I like not having the old agitator in the middle of the machine. The lid locks for safety and it's quiet.
got washer and matching dryer
from Grand Marsh Wisc.
both work with great thought on their ease of operation
Good Washer at a fair price
from Michigan, United States
I am happy with my washer overall. I love the amount of room in the washer, making it possible to throw in a comforter without the pain of a center agitator. The value for the money was worth it.
Love the new washing method
