I bought this washer about a month ago. I did go to the site and read the reviews. It does make some noises but it is a new machine and machines change with the times. This has sensors to tell it what to do. How much water to use, and to use special detergent. I hardly have to use any. It uses less energy to run, less water, less detergent, I am saving all around. No large agitator in the tub, it spins the clothes practically dry. Less drying time in my dryer. I did not pick up the extened warranty. After a week I went back and bought the warranty, Since it has sensors I wanted to be safe on the warranty. You have up to 30 days from purchase to pick up the waranty.

After our reliable Maytag broke, we felt confident that Whirlpool would be the right choice for our new washing machine. We were impressed with the "no agitator" feature - it seemed we were keeping up with progress. Many of my washed items do not go in a dryer and are hung up to dry. This is impossible now. All clothes are heavily entwined and extremely wrinkled. Having done laundry for 50 years (I am 75), I have no need for instructions as how to do wash. However, I followed all guidelines that could supposedly eliminate the heavy wrinkling result. Pack clothes loosely, use warm water, use gentle setting, put a towel in with the clothes, etc. To no avail! I actually have to entwine clothing from twisted pajama pants. So sorry I bought this product. Wish I had my machine with agitator back. I now dread doing laundry. As far as energy savings - what energy savings (since I now have to iron most of my clothes)?

Easy to Use
from Rockwood, ON, Canada
I bought this washer, knowing nothing about high-efficiency washers with no agitators, but the instructions were clear, and it proved to be easy to use. Of course, the high-efficiency aspect is a plus (energy saving).

so different from our old machine. makes strange noises. takes a long time to sense the load sometimes. takes a while to load keeping the center free. otherwise it's OK

Best washer with analog inputs!

I searched for a washer that didn't have a digital display with buttons, etc. I'm surprised we're not to the point of having everything be touch-screen... how unnecessary. This is exactly what I wanted, and I really appreciate whoever designed it. Works great too! I wish there was a softener dispenser, but I bought some Downy balls and I've had no issues.

We are pretty happy with the machine so far. Only complaint is it is a bit noisy and it sometimes comes off balance, then it gets very noisy. Wish it had some sort of a signal to let you know when to add liquid softener (Dads complaint, doesn't bother Mom!)
Love Water Level Sensor

This is my first time having a washer without an agitator, and I love it! You can put more clothes in the tub than with an agitator, and the clothes are not all tangled; I did read the instructions before using the first time--they say to put the clothes in loosely. The water sensor is fantastic; it senses the amount of the water one needs; uses a lot less water since it agitates side to side. My clothes come out nice and clean. This model has a locking lid, however, you can open it during a cycle by merely pressing the pause button. So handy--you must get used to the idea that the water is a lot lower than in an agitator type of washer. There is a "bulky item" cycle that gives more water if you want it. The spin cycle is quite loud, but the clothes are quite empty of water. I find that I use less time in the dryer. All in all, if I had to purchase a washer again, I would buy this one! I have only had it for a little over a week--but have done a fair amount of laundry since I had to catch up after my previous washer malfunctioned.

I love the large capacity and energy efficiency settiongs.
Need to continue to get use to no agitator,,,,,seems odd not to have that feature,,,,the open drum is something different.
