I bought this washer about a month ago. I did go to the site and read the reviews. It does make some noises but it is a new machine and machines change with the times. This has sensors to tell it what to do. How much water to use, and to use special detergent. I hardly have to use any. It uses less energy to run, less water, less detergent, I am saving all around. No large agitator in the tub, it spins the clothes practically dry. Less drying time in my dryer. I did not pick up the extened warranty. After a week I went back and bought the warranty, Since it has sensors I wanted to be safe on the warranty. You have up to 30 days from purchase to pick up the waranty.

After our reliable Maytag broke, we felt confident that Whirlpool would be the right choice for our new washing machine. We were impressed with the "no agitator" feature - it seemed we were keeping up with progress. Many of my washed items do not go in a dryer and are hung up to dry. This is impossible now. All clothes are heavily entwined and extremely wrinkled. Having done laundry for 50 years (I am 75), I have no need for instructions as how to do wash. However, I followed all guidelines that could supposedly eliminate the heavy wrinkling result. Pack clothes loosely, use warm water, use gentle setting, put a towel in with the clothes, etc. To no avail! I actually have to entwine clothing from twisted pajama pants. So sorry I bought this product. Wish I had my machine with agitator back. I now dread doing laundry. As far as energy savings - what energy savings (since I now have to iron most of my clothes)?

More room in the tub and no more twisted clothing from the old style agitator
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was scheduled quickly. Installation was done very well. I could not believe how quickly my appliances were installed, and the old items and packing were hauled away.

I love the capacity. I find it easy to use and like the water and energy saving features. When family comes to visit I have to explain the settings, but once you use it once, it is easy to use going forward. I like that it does not have a lot of buttons to break and still has turn knobs.

I purchased this a month ago and am very satisfied with my purchase. The machine is quiet, has start technology, and cleans thoroughly!
Excellent washer for my family

We bought our washer [whirlpool 3.8 cu] just over a month ago and I am so pleased that I decided to go High Efficiency. I love the fact that you put in your detergent and laundry and it locks the lid, no more guessing if I've put in enough water for the small loads I do. I would recommend anyone buying this washer to be sure to read the owner's manual, if you're new to HE washers you almost have to learn how to do laundry again. But that's okay considering the excellent cleaning I have experienced. I also prefer this model because of the top load feature rather than the front load style. Thank you
easy to use, great size. Uses downy ball.

Heavy blankets cause washer to become unbalanced

This is my first washer purchase in many years, so I was nervous about all the fancy features. This one has a "wash plate" instead of the old style agitator. Overall I'm happy with the product and it's performance. My only negative experience so far is when you wash a heavy blanket (for a bed), the weight of the blanket moves it to one side during wash/rinse, so when the spin cycle starts it is unbalanced and starts the dreaded shaking (sounds like an earthquake). You have to stop the cycle and rearrange the blanket, sometimes multiple times. I discovered a trick- put the blanket on one side of the washer plate, then put sheets on the other side. This seemed to work as the blanket stayed on one side.

I purchased this Whirlpool Washer several weeks ago . It has been one of best purchases of my life. The choice of settings rocks over some of the other washers I looked at with just a couple. I especially enjoy the fact that the washer "evaluates" your load and washes the clothes etc .... I'm looking forward to buying the dryer as son as the washer is paid off .
