We remodeled the kitchen last month and moved the location of where the refrigerator sits. This model fit the area perfectly and gave us the largest possible cubic inches. The doors were also conveniently engineered to be reversible to swing either way.

We recently bought this fridge/freezer combo, to replace a 20 yr old one that recently deteriorated in performance. Main driver to get this model was the more ergonomic design with freezer at bottom, and most frequently used fridge section at the best height and visibility. Since it was not in stock, our dealer had to order it, and said it would be here in 7-10 work days. At the end of that period, they called us to say it would be another week. After that week, we were told that that model was on back order, and would take an additional week. We were getting close to cancelling our order, and by another model, as our old model resulted in spoiled food on a regular basis. After 5-6 weeks from ordering, it got delivered. As only compensation, we got a "free" 3-yr warranty, which has ZERO value to us, as we would never have bought that, and we don't expect to exercise it on such a new appliance. Now to design and technology:1.) What bothers us the very most is the noise! It is not so much the level of the noise, but the particular frequency, that is notably impacting conversations - it is one of those very annoying humming noises that just goes on your nerves every time you hear it. We have not figured out a way, if there is any, to mitigate that noise through additional insulation. I am just sitting in the basement typing this, and I can hear the noise of the running fridge upstairs! The manufacturer certainly needs to look into this and improve it!2.) Space allocationThe very lowest shelf in the fridge is notably retracted from the shelf above, which makes it not only shorter (less space), but more difficult to see what is in that shelf, and to access that lower shelf. This results in both lower drawers being shortened.I measured a gap between fridge door and lower shelf/ drawers of at least 2.5 inch. Unless there is any significant performance impact, I strongly suggest to extend the lower shelf and drawers for more space/visibility. Thx f listening!

Replaced my 15 yr. old Amana

Comments about Amana Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Refrigerator:
This model was very similar to our first Amana which gave us 15 yrs. of untroubled service. This model provided wider door shelves, brighter lighting, and runs considerably quieter than the old model. Likely more energy effiecient as well. We'll have to wait to see how durable it is, 15 yrs will be tough to beat !

One Week In
By Linda G

Well...I've only had a week and so far so good. It fits in my spot with room to spare, very quiet. I'm not sure that I like the bottom freezer. I had a top freezer before and I had more room even with the ice maker. This time I choose not to get the ice maker (had problems before) and I'm glad I did. I make Ice with my filtered water and all is good, but now to get into the freezer I basically sit on the floor to see where everything is. I will need to get used to this. Overall good but not enough room in fridge and freezer.
Very nice product.

I have a small home so this model fits in my kitchen very well. It is also very quiet when running.

I bought this fridge as my old one was going downhill and needed something that would keep a large frozen turkey safe. The bottom freezer easily held my 22 lb turkey and then all the leftovers. The wire rack in the freezer feels flimsy and the vegetable drawers stick a bit.

Works great very quiet - Thinking about another one
I am very pleased with my new refrigerator
After looking at many refrigerators I am very happy that I purchased the Amana, it fits perfectly in the space I have.
Amana Refrigerator review
from Viola, Idaho
I had an Amana refrigerator for 26 years and loved it so it was only fitting that my new refrigerator had to be one too. I love how well it is lit, the adaptability of the shelves and the large freezer down below with a pull out drawer. Easy to clean and very nice looking.
A big change from my previous refrigerator

Purchased this a month ago when my 32-year old GE refrig/freezer stopped working, was able to arrange for home delivery a few days later. Generously sized for the needs of 2 people and 2 house rabbits (we do a *lot* of produce.) Very easy to custom rearrange the interior shelves & bins, good access and excellent lighting, haven't needed to mess with adjusting the cooling system.Glass containers (Pyrex/Corning, wine bottles) hang up on the glass shelves, don't push or pull smoothly (and no, the bottoms are clean.) Freezer drawers are much less easy to pull out when loaded up, have had to re-distribute items several times trying to minimize problem. (Also offloaded a bunch of stuff to my full freezer downstairs after defrosting & cleaning it.) Biggest thing to get used to is that the refrigerator door must be physically closed by hand - you can't just give it a push and assume it will close. It'll close partway, but then swing back to fully open, with a jolt when it stops that was strong enough to throw a quart of yogurt off the door bin and onto the kitchen floor, where it exploded all over everything. Incredible mess. So now we make sure to hand-close the door every time, which was never an issue with the GE.Assume it will be more energy efficient, but haven't seen any bills yet.

I am glad I bought this type of refrigerator
The worst refrigerator I ever purchased.

I would not recommend this product. Never had crisper drawers fall off the track when pulling out. Your representative that was out here advised me to pull drawers open slowly without moving a fraction of an inch. The drawer even fell off the track on his initial pull. So now when anyone goes to get something out of the crisper drawers I have to warn them of the problem. You do have a manufactures defect on this product. I actually hate my refrigerator because of this. I'm really sorry that I purchased your product. I really feel like I have been had and it appears nothing will be done. I have never given such a bad review in my whole life as I have done now..... I even had to give you 1 star so that that this could be submitted. How sad is that...
