My new washer is quite a leap forward. The Maytag that this replaced was loud, and used a lot of water. This new machine is super quiet. You just put some High Efficiency soap in load it with clothes and close the lid. Press the start button and then the spaceship gets ready for take-off. With clicks and buzzes that follow it measures the weight of your clothes and selects the correct amount of water to clean the wash. This is very unique from what we were used to, and very happy with it, even the 12 year old is doing her own laundry. Excellent product at a fair price.

Over an hour to wash one load of permapress and twice as long to dry because of slow spin. Hate that lid locks down & can't see how much water there is. Supposed to add soap and softener before adding clothes and instructions say add water to fill-line of softener dispenser, but no water comes in until it senses and lid locks down so have to go to sink to get water. Have tried casual, normal, deep water wash & heavy duty. Seems to clean okay, but I liked being able to choose the amount of time to wash, type of load, etc. On heavy duty, waited 8 minutes for it to sense and fill up and start to wash. Wanted to see how much water was actually in machine so pushed button to unlock and it pumped all of the water out and had to start over. I will probably only use on NORMAL or Casual and allow twice as long to wash AND twice as long to dry. Worse machine I have had in 76 years. Think I could almost do laundry on old Maytag wringer and two wash tubs just as fast. At least I would know what it was actually doing!!! Hope I NEVER have to buy another one since I want agitator, top load, and this was supposedly the BEST CHOICE. It is like being asked if you want to be poked in your left eye or your right one -- either one isn't a good choice.

We purchased this machine in June 2011. Over the years, we have always insisted on Whirlpool and have received great service and value. Our machine was very lightly used and developed a problem June 2014 which was traced to the drive belt. The technician showed us that the belt had oil on it from a transmission leak and that it needed replacement. He also warned us it might happen again if the transmission continued to leak oil. If so, he suggested we purchase new because a transmission repair would be half the cost of a new machine. It broke again in Sept 2014 and we replaced it with a competitive top load with a much sturdier design. When the covers were off, I was stunned at how the machine is constructed. The wash tub just sits on top of a very thin transmission shaft. Looks a little like a 35 gallon barrel balanced on a screw driver without any other support. The drive motor is petite. I have looked inside many washers over the years and this one just appeared flimsy. If you do purchase, I would get the 5 year extended warranty. Our experience says you will be happy you did.

Very happy with washing machine. So glad I switched from Maytag to Whirpool. I had a Whirlpool 40 years ago at my first home and after we moved from this home, we purchased a Maytag for the new home. The Whirlpool is much better!

I bought a new dishwasher last August and am very happy with it, dishes come clean and there is no noise. I recently bought a new Whirlpool washer and dryer, the machine is great but I have not used the dryer yet. I have used Whirlpool products for many years. Love them.

I bought this Washer about 6 weeks ago and I am really happy! My old Whirlpool washer was 17 years old and still running. But these days I think energy saving is important and this HE Machine is perfect
