This is my second review of this machine- -Does a great job of cleaning my dishes , runs super quite, seems very well made! Only issue is that one of the countdown bars in the little front window burned out and was replaced under warranty ! Also the CLEAN sign in the front display says CLEAN EVEN WHEN rinse & hold is used, makes no sense to me !! BUT I love this machine very much!! T.Y.

Bought this in July 2015. We are now pre scrubbing every single item loaded into the dishwasher. We have spent the last 2.5 months trying to find ways to load it that food is not left on plates, glasses, and silverware. We have tried different detergents, different rinse agents, and even water conditioners,to no avail. We run the dishwasher about once a day. The dishwasher has unique racks that took time to figure out but even on the bottom rack with space between the dishes, food is stuck on and hen dried on with the drying cycle. It's quiet. Cycles run a long time, but are average 70-90 minutes. Pro cycles don't improve results. We have had 3 other Kitchen Aid dishwashers and loved them. Wish there was a 90 day guarantee on these. We hate this one and hate that we had to pay so much more for something that does not work as well as older models. We are now hoping it lives a short life so we can replace after 5 years instead of 10. We probably won't ever by KitchenAid again as new models should be easier and clean better than previous models. I miss our 2012 model in the old house.

Not very happy with dishwasher
from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
This dishwasher is not the quality that I was expecting., especially for the cost. I replaced my almost twenty year old wonderful Kitchenaid Superba diishwasher with this one, to my horror. My silverware comes out with little brown spots that must be scrubbed off; not tomato stains, but rusty orange stains. The cycle runs much to long. The stainless steel on the door streaks after every cycle and looks terrible.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Top rack not well made
from San Jose, CA
I had this dishwasher installed 1 year ago when I remodeled my kitchen. After about 6 months the top rack started falling apart. I am very careful with my appliances so misuse is not a factor. Technican came out today and informed me parts are not covered with extended warranty. Kitchenaid had always been a quality brand but now I am rethinking that.
Failed in less than a year
from Parker, CO
Top rack bracket on our KitchenAid dishwasher fragmented nine months after purchase, spewing plastic into the inner workings of the machine and seizing up / damaging the unit. Think that's covered under warranty? Think again! KitchenAid/Whirpool's service technicians don't think so! Don't buy KitchenAid!

TOP RACK FALLING APART
from Fort Washington, PA
Had the Architect Series dishwasher installed in September of 2013. Two years later the top rack and the connectors to the rack rail have literally fallen apart. This has rendered the top rack useless. I had my previous dishwasher for over 10 years and never experienced any problems. The quality of the rack materials for this level of dishwasher seems quite poor.
Everything we wanted

We've had our new dishwasher for about a month. It cleans the dishes even when not completely rinsed (all our other dishwashers wouldn't do this). We are sold!!

Architect II dishwasher has been in operation for 4 weeks. It literally stinks inside. Can't find anything on the Kitchenaid website that has an operations manual or addresses any way to discover why it stinks inside. I ran the rinse cycle yesterday when dishes were put into it (though it was not full) and today it stinks. Anyone have a suggestion?
Didn't clean nd no replacement
from Southern Illinois
I bought this a month ago and found immediately that it did not clean the dishes. I call customer service and was told I had to wait a week for repair service rather than just replacing the unit. The repair service stated the entire inside mechanism was defective and he had to order a new one. He suggested that I request a replacement unit which I did and was again denied. I waited another week for the part and repairman came and it still wouldn't work. After waiting another week for the part he came and it now finally functions correctly. So.....I have had it a month abut it has only recently begun to work correctly.
