I've owned this saw for almost a year now. As other reviewers mentioned this saw is true right out of the box and stays true even with constant transportation in a trailer. The overall quality of this saw is top notch. The axial glide arm is what truly sets this apart from any other saw on the market. As shipped the glide action is set to very smooth movement but can be adjusted for a stiffer glide action. I personally have left it at the factory setting. After one year the arm glides as smoothly as it did on the first day. Most of my use of this saw has been for cutting framing material. The integrated rafter pitch angles is a welcome feature and has sped up my productivity in custom roof construction by atleast 10%. If I were to able to improve the angle markings and rafter pitch markings I would make the lines thinner since the width of the lines on the guide can represent about a half a percent of a degree if you are not paying close attention when setting. The upfront controls are fantastic and one of the major reason I purchased this saw over the others. The locking mechanisms still work as good as they did the first day. The override indent lever works well but can be easily tripped back to the locking position when working with the saw with gloves on in winter conditions. The fence extension wings are a little difficult to slide without frequent cleaning of the saw because the tracks fill with sawdust. This could be easily fixed if the tracks were enclosed on the top but would require the removal lever to be redesigned. The locking levers for both the extension wings and the fence extensions lock tightly every time and can be adjusted to be tighter or looser. The actual location of the locking levers in both the fence and the extension wings are in an awkward location making them difficult to use. To use the fence lock when the fence is extended you either must approach the lever between the fence and the base or from over the fence. When the fence is locked tightly this usually results in rapped knuckles because of it's location and the size of the lever. The base extension wing locking levers on the other hand are more accessible but there is not much room to maneuver the levers when the wings are not extended. If I could make changes to it's design I would try to find a better location for these two elements and perhaps making them bigger. The 12 inch blade and powerful motor are great aspects of this saw and I have yet to run into a problem with lack of power. It does have a downside though. Setting big bevel angles is difficult because of all of this weight. This could be solved if the saw had a spring assisted movement in the bevel plane or a gear driven mechanism. The only feature of this saw that does not have a pro component to it in my opinion is the depth stop. The depth stop is easy to use and adjust but seems like an afterthought feature of the saw. It is not very robust and making less than through cross cuts at a constent and accurate depth is near impossible. I do not think that this is because of the depth stop itself but rather because of a slight amount of movement in the entire arm / motor assembly where it connects to the base of the saw. As for a laser I thought this should be standard equipment when I bought the saw but after using the saw for a year I have since changed my mind. This saw is obviously designed for the professional and I have yet to see a professional that does not align their cuts manually first before comitting to the cut regardless if there is a laser guide or not. For the price of the saw I would have like to have seen the upgraded clamp included. The clamp that comes with the saw has been put in a draw after the first time I used it because it is simply to time consuming to work with. Overall I would recommend this saw to anyone. It's expensive but worth every bit of it's price.

The saw will not cut square on both sides of the fence. The blade is .025 out of parallel to the glide path. Cannot be corrected as far as I can tell. I have followed the instructions in the users guide to no avail. You can square the glide path to the fence or you can square the blade to the fence but not both. I will need to contact customer service to see if I am missing something. I will update my review if this problem gets resolved

Poor dust collection
from Seattle, WA, United States
Comments about Bosch Tools 12" Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw:
The dust collection is useless on this saw. It doesn't matter if the dust port is connected to a good Fein vac or large stationary shop dust collector, most of the dust ends up all over the saw and the floor. You may as well not even try to collect it because you'll need to vacuum after every cut if you want to keep a clean healthy shop

Great Design !
from Harrisburg, PA, United States
I bought this saw over two years ago and have had great success with it in all facets of remodeling. The best part is being able to cut 7" crown molding with it! It outperforms many other top brand named saws. The fact that it can go tight against the wall is fantastic! The forward controls are a huge plus that you aren't leaning over the back of the saw for bevel settings. It did need a little fine tuning out of the box for squareness to the base but only a minor adjustment once complete it has been dead on ever since.
Best Miter Saw I've Ever Owned!

I've had my saw for about a year now. The space saving on setting the saw close to the wall is awesome. Out of the box, the saw was nearly perfect. A bit of adjusting and putting on an eighty tooth blade, I've been installing trim ever since. An impressive saw.
Purchased about 1 month ...

Purchased about 1 month ago. Checked the calibrations as soon as removed from box. Did not require any adjustment. The articulating arm is extremely smooth to use. The lockout feature on the articulating arm prevents any unexpected movement. A set screw lockout may not be tight enough to prevent movement. In the case of this saw the lockout is either locked or open to movement. I am extremely pleased with the saw. It is a little on the heavy side if you are trying to use the saw as a portable unit. I find it very well built.

I bought this product about a month ago and I am very happy with what it can do, I am in the middle of a full basement and main flr reno and it has done everything and more. I love the bevel design and the quick degree lock for crown molding. The instruction that come with it are very helpful as well.
Great saw with precision and power
from Eagle River, Anchorage, AK, United States
This saw delivers all that I require in a compound mitre saw. It is easy to set up, accurate and precise, has lots of power and most importantly does it all in a much smaller footprint that its competitors, thanks to the innovative articulated arm. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a crosscut or miter saw

What versatile tool! So far the saw is great as a chop saw, and a sliding miter saw. I like how you can set small fractions of angle when getting those exact fit cuts. No noticeable sway or jiggle in the blade. Very smooth action. I look forward to using it for complex cuts. It's a little on the heavy side so would make an awesome bench saw. I prefer it's mobility on jobs though, and will just grin and bear the weight. A must have for exacting craftsmanship!
