We replaced our 11 year old GE Monogram Convection/Microwave oven with this new GE Profile Speedcook oven. I chose the 120 volt over the 240 volt only because I didn't want the bother of running 24V to the space. I think and hope I only gave up cook time speed but time will tell. Installation was simple, almost "Plug-N-Play". We have the GE Monogram convection oven in black below. It is also 11 years old but still going strong so we didn't replace it at this time. The Profile style looks very nice with the Monogram style, only the handle is different but only the most discriminating would notice. We have a very beautiful kitchen and this fits right in. So far it works great and we are looking forward to doing more in the Speedcook mode. We considered a double oven because we entertain a lot during the holidays but we also needed a microwave and din't like the idea being on a counter top. This seems like the perfect solution with its convection bake ability and now Speedcook option as well. Our 11 year Monogram didn't have the Speedcook feature. Can't wait for the holidays, in fact we may have to do a big family cooking event this summer just to try it out sooner.

Steam from oven vents out sides; damages cabinetry

I would love this oven for its features if it weren't for the fact that it directs steam generated out the sides of the doors, rather than over the top through the built-in vents. There is enough steam that it damages the finish on the cabinets. GE has replaced it, but the replacement one still does this when I cook with a combination of heat and microwaves for even long enough to bake two potatoes. When I only cook with microwaves for a short amount of time, there isn't enough steam to cause damage. I'm sorry I spent so much money on it because of this poor element of its design. That is why I have rated it poor in the overall rating.

Really like all the features. The microwave takes longer than others iced had in past but am getting used to it. The one thing I wish they would change is the door. I wished it had a side open door as is hard to put things in and take out with the oven type door as we have it above a wall oven

I can do EVERYTHING with this oven that I need to do: broil, bake, convection bake, microwave, and combinations of those. There is a learning curve because it's not the old style "hot box" our mothers had, but I think this evolution is so much better and faster. I can bake an entire chicken so the skin is crispy but the inside is cooked thoroughly but not dried out, and in less than half the usual time. I recommend spreading out appetizers so they don't touch and not bunching them in the middle of the tray so they cook evenly as they rotate. Keep an eye on small items like that the first few times because they will cook much faster than expected. If I prepare a second tray to replace the first one when I am serving, I can keep a steady stream of hot appetizers for guests. Really, this is such a fun oven to work with!

We've cooked everything, turkeys & steakes to cookies & biscuits. It is a great oven and is large enough for all of our needs and cooks, bakes and broil fast! Microwave operation is a separate function and also works great.
