We've had this for a month. The large window makes the competitors look ancient. AquaLift makes cleaning the oven very easy. My only suggestion, make sure you get some Whirlpool Cooktop Protectant. I don't know why this isn't mentioned in the instructions. This product will put a thin protective coating that will prevent scratches and spills from burning in. You can get it on e-bay. They have recently reformulated the product and I understand the formula in the older looking packaging works better. I got the original formula, works great. Use Cerama Bryte for daily cleaning. Make sure you use the proper cookware. Read the instructions. Some cookware will leave a stain on the top. Convection oven is wonderful! Beware...this unit really smells when you first turn on the oven, so don't expect to cook in it right away. Turn oven to 425 for 45 minutes. Open the windows, turn on the a/c and take a walk around the block. Let unit cool overnight. Smell should be gone. If not, repeat process. Again, not covered well in instructions. Warned by our sales person. If we didn't know it we would have thought the unit was defective.

I am not impressed. The stove that I previously had was a GE 30-inch 4coil burner Electric freestanding range. My Kitchenaid oven takes 15 minutes to preheat to 350,my old GE I didn't have to preheat because in less than 5 minutes the oven elements would go off because it would be up to 350. It takes at least twice as long for the range
elements on the glass top to bring anything I cook to a boil. I have to spend(or waste) a lot more time every time I cook something. My wife wanted the glass top stove because we thought it would look nice and be easy to clean. WRONG!!! It looks good right after it is cleaned. Than it attracts dust, if you touch the glass it picks up the oils from a persons skin and smears and you can't use the area for anything else. Example if you take something out of the oven you can't put it on top of the stove because it is too hot so you have to get a hat pad and put it on the counter top. I almost forgot the best part. If you have to brown or fry something (two -three batches) you might as well plan on twenty(20) minutes to clean the top. I have one more item to bring up. We chose the stainless steel line, it looks nice but did any one look or touch the bottom (and some top) corners. They are sharp and not forgiving. This is not only on the stove but also on your refrigerator, microwave and especially the dish wash (check the door). Since we have had the new appliances I looked at other brands and the corners were dealt with much better. One more thing I have a neighbor lady that has bought the same kind of stove except it is a white one in stead of a stainless and she wanted me to tell you that she feels the same as I about the oven and the glass top.Thank You for your time and I hope that I am some help. Leon.....

Love the dual burners

By

from Wisconsin, United States

Comments about Kitchenaid 30" Architect Series White Freestanding Electric Range:

We've had this for about a month now. Love the dual burners on the cooktop and like having the "warming" spot on the cooktop. The downside to the cooktop . . . you have to be VERY, VERY careful with pots and pans on it as it is a glass top. We've always been careful with our cooktops (our last was a smooth top also), but our old one never scratched this easily. After one month, we have several scratches on one burner. We're not liking that; and because of how easily it scratches, we're not certain how long this unit will last. The oven is good. It seems to take absolutely forever for it to preheat. Our old oven would be heated in just a few minutes. I timed this one last night. To reach the 425 degrees we needed, it took almost 10 minutes. Haven't used the convection part of the oven yet so can't comment on that. Overall, it's good, but not as good as I was expecting from Kitchen Aid.

Comments about Kitchenaid 30" Architect Series White Freestanding Electric Range:

Don't like alot of bells and whistles or computerized operating gizmos. Love this stove--plus it has convection capability and a warming area on the cook top.
