Definitive Technology Incline Black Desktop Computer Speakers, Model DS100INCLINE

Incline, a pair of selfpowered loudspeakers with USB Digital Analog Signal Conversion, tansforms the space around your desktop computer into a rich listening environment. Incline has been optimized for use on desktops, shelves and credenzas using a unique form factor that enhances sound quality while complementing the appearance of today’s desktop monitors and laptop computers.

Features:

  • The 9.5 Degree Solution
Desktop speakers often sound dull, lifeless and flat. Incline’s 9.5 degree angle literally points the speaker toward your ears, aiding directivity and making it possible for you to hear full bandwidth. Vocals are more intelligible and music and movie soundtracks sound utterly lifelike. Incline’s unique form factor was just the beginning, however. Built-in amplifiers, digital signal processing and a bipolar speaker configuration take desktop audio to a new performance standard
  • Bipolar Speaker Design. Full Bandwidth, High Definition Sound
Incline’s bipolar configuration radiate sound in an omnidirectional pattern. Front facing drivers include a one 4-inch polymer cone mid/woofer that is pressure-coupled to a 4-inch bass radiator; there is also a ¾-inch silk dome tweeter. A rear facing full-range driver creates a spacious soundscape far beyond the confines of your desktop. Your listening experience is more life-like, more involving for music and movies. Four 20-Watt amplifiers (each speaker is bi-amplified) power the system for effortless high volume, low distortion clarity. For higher output and more powerful bass, you can add an optional external powered subwoofer to the Incline via a rear panel Sub Out jack
  • Versatile Connectivity
For higher output and more bass, you can add an optional external powered subwoofer to the Incline via a rear panel Sub Out jack. And Incline can be connected to any audio source that has a digital optical, USB or headphone output jack
  • Definitive Fit and Finish
Definitive Technology is renowned for its uncompromising fit and finish, and the Incline's details include a striking support-base made from a solid slab of machined aluminum to provide stability. The enclosure is fabricated with Definitive’s trademark Polystone mineral-filled polymer, and wrapped in acoustically transparent grille cloth

No bass

By

from Norway

Comments about Definitive Technology Incline Black Desktop Computer Speakers:

I connected the Inclines to my Imac via USB, and what a huge disappointment. There's no bass! It sounds like it's playing inside a box. My old $50 Altec Lansing speakers dating 15 year back sounds better.. When connected by the analog cable the sound gets better, but I bought the Inclines for the USB feature. There clearly must be something wrong with the DSP.

Big and bold!

By

from High Desert Oregon

Comments about Definitive Technology Incline Black Desktop Computer Speakers:

Long and shot of it, these speakers sound fantastic! End of story. My ears say, "So this is what's been missing in my listening pleasure all these years!" "Excellent!" Con: Size of speakers. They are large and do take up some desktop real estate they dwarf others speakers I have. They make my already cluttered small area, smaller. Pros: These speakers sound fantastic! I set the speakers to pure mode and let em' rip! I listen mostly to praise and worship and they sound light years better than my Klipsch promedia's, they are more exciting than my Harmon Kardon Soundstick III. I did listen to Pink Floyd Comfortably numb; the guitar solo gave me chills. These speakers are big and bold, they are very loud and adding an external subwoofer into the mix takes listening to a higher level. I didn't have any problems setting the speakers up, or with cables, or removing the back in order to hook up an external sub. I'm hoping that they last many years... I would say Definitive Tech Inclines are a work of art in themselves! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

These Speakers Rock

By

from Chicago, IL, United States

Comments about Definitive Technology Incline Black Desktop Computer Speakers:

I purchased these speakers about a week ago. I added a powered subwoofer. Let me tell you I couldn't be more pleased. The sound is warm, clear, full, non-distorted, and they a provide a sound field of what you would think to be a much larger speaker. The best computer speakers I have heard and I have had a lot of speakers.

The sound is beyond amazing!

By

from Chandler, AZ, United States

Comments about Definitive Technology Incline Black Desktop Computer Speakers:

Having long been a fan of Definitive Technology's products but not ever having had a chance to own any from new (the only way I choose to buy electronics for the most part), I was immediately interested in hearing these speakers and pairing them with my high end PC setup. Despite not getting to hear them until I hooked them up, I just knew I wouldn't be disappointed. To put it bluntly, these speakers are out-freaking-standing in their sound quality, construction, and look. While they sounded excellent on their own, pairing them with a sub is the way to go. It makes an immediate impact and rounds out the sound just so. Getting the panel off the right speaker didn't seem as pesky as I've read, but individual experiences may vary. As for connections, there's several options available and all connections (minus the TOSLINK cable) are included with them. As is suggested by Dev Tech and elsewhere, I'd suggest they be hooked up via the USB cable so as to use the dedicated and built in DAC. Again, I couldn't be happier if I tried at this point. These could easily sit next to a television and be just as awesome. I'm so pleased Dev Tech decided to venture into the realm of PC peripherals. Outstanding job, fellas. Truly outstanding.

Love My Inclines

By

from Houston, TX, United States

Comments about Definitive Technology Incline Black Desktop Computer Speakers:

I have these connected to an iMac with the USB connector, no DAC, no sub, nothing else but what came in the box, and i am thrilled with them. While i don't consider myself a well versed audiophile I do have a habit of taking things back (buyers remorse especially with speakers) from a sense that i could do better. I often decide i just need to up my price limit in my search for enjoyable sound. What I'm saying is "I'm picky." I always feel a solid sense of satisfaction after listening to the Inclines that I made a excellent choice.
