Dyson DC59 Animal Cordless Handheld Vacuum - DC59AN
The DC59 Animal cordless vacuum cleaner is powered by the Dyson digital motor
V6. This 350W motor, 2 Tier Radial™ cyclones and a re-engineered nickel
manganese cobalt battery combine to provide powerful suction. Together these
technologies enable the Dyson DC59 Animal to suck up as much dust as a corded
- Balanced for easy cleaning - from floor to ceiling
DC59 weighs less than 5 pounds and is easy to lift – its center of gravity is located towards the grip, for easy cleaning up top, down below and in-between.
- Engineered for balanced weight distribution
In other cordless vacuums, heavy parts such as the motor, dust separator and filtration system are located close to the floor – away from the handle. This makes it awkward to lift the vacuum from one surface to another – particularly surfaces at different heights. Using Archimedes' principle of the Lever, Dyson engineers have shifted the center of gravity. The weight is distributed differently. The motor and batteries are located directly above and below the hand, making the cleaning end lighter.
- The most powerful cordless vacuum
DC59 has more suction power than any other cordless vacuum. The combination of the Dyson digital motor V6, 2 Tier Radial™ cyclones and a re-engineered nickel manganese cobalt battery makes this possible.
- Digital motor technology
Other cordless vacuum manufacturers compromise on either weight or suction. Dyson cordless vacuums are powered by the Dyson digital motor. It's small size means that the machines it powers can also be small, light and powerful. The Dyson digital motor V6 inside DC59 is 50% more powerful than its predecessor, V2.
- Dyson digital motor V6
DC59 is powered by the Dyson digital motor V6. The digital motor spins at
up to 110,000 times a minute, up to 3 times faster than conventional motors
contributing towards the machines powerful suction.
- 2 Tier Radial™ cyclones
15 cyclones, arranged across two tiers, work in parallel to increase airflow
and capture fine dust.
- Improved pick up across every floor type
A re-engineered floor tool helps DC59 to suck up as much dust as a corded vacuum.** Stiff nylon bristles dislodge ground-in dirt from carpets, and soft carbon fiber filaments gently remove fine dust from hard floors. DC59's floor tool has been engineered to be lighter and improve pick-up. A
self-tightening mechanism keeps the brush bar stable and a dust capture channel
prevents dirt from escaping back to the floor, increasing pick-up. The new
configuration of carbon fiber filaments and nylon bristle strips removes dust
and dirt across carpet and hard floors.
- Anti-static carbon fiber filaments
Many cordless vacuums don't have brush bars, and those that do only contain nylon bristles. While these loosen dirt from carpets, they're not as effective on hard floors where fine dust can be left behind. The brush bars of Dyson cordless vacuums are different. They have a row of anti-static carbon fiber filaments, as well as nylon bristles. The filaments prevent the build-up of the static charge that holds the dust to the floor, allowing it to be sucked up into the vacuum.
- 50% More Power in Boost Mode
The DC59 has 50% more power in boost mode than DC35 and DC44. 6 minutes of increased suction power for more difficult tasks.
- Lightweight and ergonomic
Fits naturally into the shape of the hand. Center of gravity located towards
the grip for easy handling.
- Mini motorized tool for tough tasks
Removes hair and dirt from upholstery and confined spaces.
- Re-engineered nickel manganese cobalt battery
Transmits 1.5 times more power than DC35 and DC44. Customized to provide fade-free
power. And the DC59 turns on when you
need it, off when you don't. Many other
cordless vacuum cleaners remain switched on from the moment cleaning starts.
Battery power is wasted between cleaning tasks. Dyson Digital Slim™ vacuum
cleaners have a run-time enhancing trigger. Trigger grip releases instantly,
meaning battery power is only used for cleaning. It allows for a 26 minute
- Cleans under low furniture
Low profile cleaner head. Stays flat to the floor when the machine is fully
- Stair cleaning
Motorized head attaches directly to the machine for cleaning stairs.
- Hygenic bin emptying
New hygienic one-touch bin empty. Just push the button to release the dirt.
Accessible from either side.
- Captures dirt and dust with no loss of suction
Dyson has been continually refining vacuum cyclone technology since inventing it more than 20 years ago. The cyclones spin the air and create strong centrifugal force to fling dust and dirt out of the air and into the bin. No bag. No loss of suction.
- No extra costs
Other vacuums rely on bags and filters to capture dust and dirt. Dyson machines have Root Cyclone™ technology. Centrifugal forces up to 100,000 times gravity fling dust and dirt straight into the bin. And that includes the fine dust that clogs the filters in ordinary bagless vacuums. Unlike other vacuum cleaners, Dyson machines don't lose suction - and don't need costly replacement bags and filters.
- Built to last
Tough and durable. All Dyson vacuums are made from ABS and polycarbonate – the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. Every single component is relentlessly tested to survive real life.
- Traps allergens, expels cleaner air
Dyson handheld and cordless vacuums have constant powerful suction, high dust removal, the ability to capture allergens, expel cleaner air and do not have dusty bags to empty.
- Docking station
- Stores the machine for charging. Holds two additional attachments.
- Extra tools
All Dyson vacuums come with Dyson-engineered tools for cleaning hard to reach places around the home.

- To prove this our engineers test for pick up performance across carpets
(ASTM F608), hard floors (ASTM F2607) and hard floors with crevices (IEC 60312-1
5.2). To mimic actual use, they load machines with dust before testing (IEC
