1. Capacity - I can put so much in this! Recently had a party and it stored three 9x13-10x15 casseroles, one 9" round, and a 12-pack of soda in addition to four days' worth of groceries for my family of six and the usual condiments and such. I can keep four gallon jugs across the bottom door shelf. The split top shelf gives essential flexibility for tall items without sacrificing all of the second shelf; eggs and other shallow items still easily fit under the lowered side. I use my chest freezer a LOT less with all that this freezer can hold. 2. Real-life storage - the crispers are the full size I'm used to from my previous, 20-year-old fridge. (Shop for fridges and you'll see how few have decent-sized crispers.) You can actually put in long things like celery. The full-width deli easily holds all the deli and cheese (and then some) my large family requires. 3. Freezer - The freezer has two drawers for easier access to everything. The bottom drawer is deeper and has an adjustable divider that keeps things organized in their place. Both are solid, not wire, meaning debris isn't going to fall through where you can't get at it. 4. Built-ins - Love the recessed LED lights and integrated temperature controls. Really opens up the full capacity of this fridge when you don't have half of the top shelf interrupted with a huge unit for light bulbs and temperature adjusters. 5. Speaking of temperature adjusters - digital controls mean you know what temp you are actually setting. No arbitrary 1-10 scale. Separate freezer control allows better fine-tuning. Keeps temperature steady. 6. Appearance - 33" wide, it's a great option for the small- to average-sized kitchen. Smooth front and texture-free handles are SO easy to keep clean. Together with a slightly bowed front, it would look as good in a contemporary setting as it does in my vintage-styled kitchen. 7. Cleanability - The inside is also easy to clean with removable door bins, shelves and drawers. The only cons thus far: I do find it a bit noisy compared to my old one. A high-pitched whine similar to but less annoying than a florescent fixture. I can hear it when I'm in the kitchen, but not when I'm in the next room. And I have no use for the bottom door shelf that is sized for juice boxes; this allows me to set my other door shelves lower and with greater spacing, giving me more space for the things I use.

Nice appliance, good looking, works well, a bit noisy on start-up of cycle, lots of room. But the freezer has a major design flaw: items can fall over the back of the drawers and lodge in the well of the drawer. At this point, the freezer drawer jams, and cannot be closed. The fix requires that the sliding drawer be emptied, and removed, in order that you can reach over and behind the drawer to retrieve the fallen item. It happens frequently and is a major pain. Some sort of a blocking screen needs to be added.

Overall a good refrigerator - brittle plastic.
from Richmond, VA, United States
Comments about LG White Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator:
Perfectly good, functional, sleek refrigerator. Very good ice production and storage efficiency. Only complaint (important one): all of the plastic within the interior of the refrigerator (surrounding glass shelving) is extremely brittle, and even more so when very cold. When removing the glass shelving to clean, there is a high likelihood that some of the plastic will break. Within 90 days of purchase, I had 2 cracks in the plastic around glass shelving.

My new Frig. looks so great in my kitchen. It works beautifully and has so much room and is easy to stock with tons of food!
Love this refrigerator, so many reasons.
from The Villages, Florida
I bought all new LG appliances for my kitchen a few months ago. Where do I start? The refrigerator is my favorite, I love the door in door feature, so energy saving! The ice maker on door, great. I had a 28 cubic ft. side by side, I have more room in this one. Every time someone comes over I show them the appliances I purchased, especially the refrigerator. They all love the door in door feature and the space in the refrigerator and freezer. I am 84 years old and still get excited over a new refrigerator, I love not having to open the whole door to get milk or eggs or small things I use often. Such an energy saver.

Love this refridgerator. Everything we were looking for. Only complaint is the ice maker is somewhat noisey.
great size for smaller opening
The fridge works great, and it is fairly large given our smaller opening. Our food no longer gets lost inside. The fridge is bright and the food is easy to see and is easily accessible. I only have two minor concerns about the fridge. First, the middle shelf, which runs the width of the fridge (resulting in more space than two separate shelves!) doesn't have a center support. So far that doesn't seem to be a problem, but I worry about it warping in the long run. Second, the fridge operates with a slight electronic hum. It is MUCH quieter than our prior fridge, which made more of a mechanical noise when cooling. But the electronic hum grates on me a bit at times. Still, this wouldn't affect my decision to purchase it again. We looked at a lot of fridges and this was definitely a great choice.
Great Features and Lot of Space
from Overland Park, KS, USA
Love the amount of space in the freezer with the icemaker in the door. Refrigerator has lots of space, just a little short on space for tall items (ketchup and other tall bottles). The door in door features is great with a busy family. Only complaint is the door in door does not latch easily and frequently gets left open, luckily the open door chime alerts us to this.
We have had this fridge for about 7 months now and I'm impressed with the overall design. It's intelligently laid out - definitely the best fridge I've owned to date. We have noted a few downsides: -The door in door feature requires a real effort to latch so it frequently gets left open a crack (especially with kids) dismissing any energy savings you might realize. - I REALLY miss the roll out shelves in the fridge compared to my old design. -The separate water and ice activators confuse the heck out of most people and they typically spray water all over the floor when going for ice for the first time. Maybe some better labeling could fix that. -We have had an issue with this unit freezing the water in the ice supply tubing rendering the ice maker useless. They have had to replace the door under warranty to fix it. I am hoping this was an isolated incident and not endemic to this LG model. If it is I hope LG will own up to it. Time will tell.

Largest fridge to fit in the available opening
from Libertyville, IL, USA
We have looked for so long for a replacement fridge to fit the opening in our kitchen and this was just perfect. We wanted to stay with a frrezer on the bottom. Plenty of room and so far so good. I do not get the noise in the icemaker that some reviewrs mention. We are very happy with this unit and only wish there is a way to guard against prints on the stainless steel finish.

Very nice, but...
from South Shore, MA
We bought this refrigerator nearly a year ago and have been happy with it. If you leave the door open for a few seconds it has an annoying chime to let you know, but that is probably a good thing. In the last month we have started to experience a very loud grinding noise which lasts maybe 3 seconds. It happens once every week or two. We're going to have it serviced, but since the noise isn't predictable we have some concern about being able to remedy it. Right now I would not recommend it, but that may change.
