I've tried at least 5 other handhelds, spent hundreds of dollars, ea yr trying to find a handheld that actually works. Well I've found it. The DC58 is by far the best handheld vacuum in the world. I use it in my car, picking up cat hair and litter in my house, for dusting and picking up dirt in all those hard to reach places, etc. It picks up the dirt in one swipe. The max setting is an awesome feature and sucks the diet and hair right up. The attachments are great too. Overall this is the best handheld I have ever used. Don't hesitate, buy it now. It's worth every penny.

After careful review of the reviews, I purchased my first Dyson. I do not have carpet so only wanted a handheld for small jobs in hard to reach places. The device has great power! It heats up fast on high suction and shuts off in about five minutes for another recharge. But do not recharge so fast....this lil fella needs to cool down first. Also the device must always be in upright position when in use. There is no flexible hose so kinda cant vacuum where you need to. And the air exhaust blows right in your face....how annoying is that. But in the end, I just hold my breath for the five minutes and vacuum easy to reach horizontal surfaces. I wish I had more positive things to write about. Can I return this please?

Battery life is a joke
Comments about Dyson Cordless Handheld Vacuum:
I have had this vacuum for about a year now and I am more annoyed with it now than ever. Each time I go to use it, the battery is dead or almost dead even if I charged it completely after the last time I used it. I would say I attempt to use it once a week. In my opinion, a handheld vacuum is meant to be a convenience, not a hassle. This one is a complete hassle when you go to use it for a quick clean up and it's dead or only works for under 60 seconds; very annoying especially when it costs what it does. IF the battery held a respectable charge, I could recommend it. It's light, has enough suction to get the job done and easy to empty. I have a DC65 and can't find a negative thing to say about it, so Dyson really dropped the ball on this one. Dyson, please fix the battery on this machine.

I'm in the dog sitting business and this is a great little handheld for quick pick ups, when I don't feel like taking my upright Dyson 41 out of the closet. You can't beat Dyson vacuums when it comes to cleaning up dog hair. The one drawback to the handheld is that the battery runs out with absolutely no warning, that's why I give it 4 stars instead of 5, otherwise, I love this machine for its cleaning ability.

I owned a I owned a DC31 for many years. I real workhorse, working and outlasting several other brands. Ordered the new DC58 for our other locations. Even better in power, but not user friendly in emptying. Don't dare to use it for a rental property. OK for self/personal use.
Excellent. A little tricky cleaning the inside when pet hair gets trapped way up and not in the bin.
This handheld Dyson is so easy and convenient to use in all situations. I use it all over my house from the sofas to the base boards and the windowsills. I also use it in the cars. No matter what needs to be cleaned, using the Dyson handheld is just easiest!
great for those little messes

About Me Medical Professional
I use mostly in kitchen/dining area, when cooking something always ends up on the floor.
It's the best
The DC58 is the best thing we have bought for the house in ages. We use the handheld vacuum all the time.
Cannot believe that this is made by Dyson! After buying a DC07 many years ago and buying the new ball animal for Christmas, which I LOVE, this machine should not carry the Dyson name. Suction is not as good as a competitor for 1/3 the price. Battery is sub standard and will not last long. Sorry, but this is the truth.
I bought the DC58 primarily for cleaning the car and moved to doing spot cleaning around the house. I bought a DC65 about four years ago and it is an excellent machine, as is the DC58. I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner, very powerful, holds a good charge and is nice and compact. Well worth the money.
My Favorite Thing!
I love my new Dyson handheld vacuum! I'm replacing an older one, so I'm a little biased, but even though my other one broke, I really, really love these machines! This one is a little louder, but that just make me think that it's a little stronger which probably makes it a little better. Yep. . .that's what I'm going with!! Just get one. . .you won't be disappointed! Well, until it breaks. My first one lasted 7 years, and I used it practically every day on my kitchen floors.
