I bought the AC because it fit an existing in-the-wall slide and there were options for various electrical set ups. I am generally satisfied with it . The AC is located in a large bedroom in a 5 room apartment. If I run the AC with doors open and ceiling fans on it will cool the entire apartment, except the kitchen. It really draws out the humidity. I wish, in this day of cheap little lights, that you had put lights in/on the control panel. I have to keep a flash light on the window sill to turn it off or on during the night. Or, maybe lighted remote buttons would have been a solution. You could make that upgrade and I would buy the remote..

Air conditioner was just installed. It is too cool to use so I can't make any other comments other than it looks great and after reading the manual it sounds real easy to operate.

Flexible air flow, but LOUD!

Comments about GE 10,400 BTU 9.8 EER 115V Wall Sleeve Air Conditioner:
I purchased a similar unit for my galley kitchen in 1991 because it was the only unit that could blow air straight up rather than at my waist while standing at my sink, plus the extension inside was shallow allowing my drawers to open in front of it. This new unit has the same benefits, plus remote control and higher efficiency. The only drawback is when the outside fan turns on with the compressor, it sounds like a jet engine! I'll get used to it, but it's definitely louder than my old unit. Maybe that's how they increased efficiency - higher air flow.

Easy install, remote is great and runs very quiet in addition to doing a superb job of cooling.
more than In expected
It is very efficient and I like that it shuts off when the required temperature is reached
Works well and cools easily. But it's really loud for some reason

I had the older model and love the newer features: timer function and having the remote control! Keeps our room nice and cool through the hit summer months.
Digital features are great.
Cools very well. Only issue I have is that it is much noisier than my old GE unit.

Since I have been using this AC, literally every day, I noticed that my electric bill has decreased. It does a great job in cooling off and maintaining that cool for an 1100 square foot home.

Very cold and quiet. Little pricey but so far so good.
