Comments about Bosch Tools 18V 1/2" Hammer Drill/Driver:
I bought and used this drill several years ago. I love that I can pick it up after several months of no use and have it run like a top. Good torque.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Top notch drill
from Holland, IN
I bought this drill about 2 years ago and it has been the best purchase. I like the lithium batteries because of the superior charge time for drilling and or hammer drilling. Recharging time is great too. This is my go to drill for most of my tasks.
very durable, well made.

very durable, tough, reliable excellent drill. I have dropped it from atop of our eight foot ladder numerous times and it runs flawlessly.

Best cordless drill I've ever owned. Lightweight and powerful. The 2 batteries are excellent and the drill fits perfectly and comfortably in my hand. I like the power indicators on the batteries that let me know how much is left on my charge. The batteries also recharge quickly so I can keep working.
Verry good cordless hammerdrill
from Québec, QC, Canada
I like this drill ergonomic and good balanced with a good power. Batteries are effective and it reload very quickly. The auto-lock chuck also is has a practice. A negative point for the case and its storage space.
Compact and lightweight

Its a very nice drill for its size, it packs a punch to handle any job, very ergonomic, and battery life is great being a slim pack.

I've used this drill quite a bit since purchase, and and impressed with the power and build quality. I've used it for various jobs - even drilled 5/8" holes through double-brick walls. Aside from prudently letting the motor cool off after every couple of holes & swapping out the slim battery when needed, it was the workhorse I needed. Much better than dragging around a long, heavy-gauge extension cord for those smaller jobs.
Hammer works better than expected

I have yused this for more than a year now and I have to say I have been surprised by how well the hammer feature has worked for the times I needed it. Plenty of power, decent action. You won't get the best hammer bits for this, but at the level of a handyman, its better to have one tool to carry around than two. I do like the Makita and Dewalt lights more than this setup, but

The drill feels great in my hand and the smaller battery packs are not only nice and light but they last quite a long time. The only negative thing I can think of is that the drill doesn't fit into the case when the belt clip is attached.
Good, not great.

When in hammer mode drilling hard concrete the clutch setting rotates from vibration out of drill mode down to a clutch setting. The chuck has loosened on more than one occasion when drilling large holes. The drill struggles to drill holes larger than 3/4" in wood in high speed. More light please. The hammer drill function is very good. I have dropped it without any negative impact on the tool. The new batteries are a big improvement and the smaller charger is really appreciated.
