I purchased a one month subscription at Consumer Reports to read about front loaders and top loaders. This is the third washer I have purchased in 12 years. First was builders grade in my new house and died in 3 years. 2nd (a Maytag) lasted 9 years until the computer board would not clear and would not pump out rinse water or spin or cancel...you get the picture. I was unsure about a front loader but when Lowe's had this model on sale saving me $250 and the reviews weren't bad I decided to purchase. I am still learning all the cycle settings but I am pleased with the washer's ability to clean a load of dirty laundry. I bought specifically to make sure I could was my own comforters and not have to go to a laundromat. I have only had one strange encounter when I selected a cycle and pushed start it did not. This was after I changed the preprogrammed cycle. I think I wanted Delicates with a faster spin than was offered and the machine lights did not blink like they normally do before I pushed start. It would not start and to clear it I turned the machine off and back on. I could select medium spin with delicate cycle but not high. Ok I lived with it. The Maytag I had prior to this was a HE model with an impeller top loader and every 40 cycles or so it would display a clean washer icon. I used bleach to rung the clean washer and it took about an hour to run that cleaning cycle. This washer has an icon display as well after 40 washes but when you run it there is nothing to add no bleach no Affresh. The cleaning cycle uses hot water and runs about 4 hours. It focuses the hot water to the gasket area in the front of the machine and swishes water in the tub filling it with more water than I have seen it use to wash clothes but all in all other than taking 4 hours to do the cleaning cycle I really love my new washer. I have decided next time I see the icon to clean washer I will start in the evening when I don't usually do laundry. I have done my comforter and I do believe it was cleaned better and the spin increased the overall loft of the comforter.

When deciding to replace my old laundry appliances, I did a lot of reading. I was aware that some people had mold/mildew/etc. issues with front loaders but thought that a simple wiping of the rubber ring after washer would resolve that problem. I care for my appliances so assumed I'd have no problems. No longer so sure. After the wash cycle is completed and the clothes removed, I wipe down the fairly wet glass/plastic door and as well as the rubber seal around it. I also wipe and leave open the compartment for the detergent and fabric softener, which are also wet. At this point I feel that the machine is far more high maintenance than the top loader it replaced. However, I wouldn't even mind doing the extra drying steps if I felt as though it would be effective but I don't. I think the machine has a stale or otherwise funky smell nonetheless. I've only had this washer for a little over week because I had to wait a month past the scheduled delivery date to get it (likely the fault of the retailer but double-check availability when ordering). Still, I've done lots of laundry in that time and fear the smell will get worse, not better. I have just done pretty basic washes and still need to read more in the manual. My impression is that there are a plethora of options but it will take some reading and time to be able to fully take advantage of all the settings. I did not purchase an extended warranty at the time of sale because I generally believe that when you pay a lot of money for a high quality product you should be able to depend on it. With respect to this washer however, I would strongly recommend getting the warranty if you decide to buy it.

Comments about Samsung Platinum Front Load Washer:
This is my first front load washer and I love it!! I have had this washer for a little over 2 months now and am super happy with it. It is very quiet!! The music it plays at the end of cycle is what lets me know the load is done. Hoping to have several years of great service out of it!!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have no complaints on this product so far, granted I have only had for a few days, this washer seems to be one of the best I have bought so far. I love all the features. The washer seems to have a little vibration, however I believe it is due to my floor, you can see my floor bow down where the feet are located as it spins around. I plan on getting a solid piece of plywood to sit on top of my floor to reinforce it. So far any issues I have had are due to issues outside of the manufactures controls, only my landlords : )

I have to say, Samsung products some how always seem to continue to progress into the new age with the old-time reliability. Built to last with a user friendly facade and effortless operation, just hook up and go! I would definitely recommend this to a friend and my loved ones, because I love clean laundry like no other and this washer does an amazing job with a delicate cycle for your most prized and literally you're most delicate articles of clothing. I give it a two thumbs up and a definite steal! Take care everyone and happy washing (^.^)!
Good features for the price.

Previous washer was unrepairable after 11 years, this washer so far has been a great replacement and the pedestal from the old washer fit the new model. The cycles are quiet and quick and the was is really clean

First I was a little worry by the size, but when I push the start button after the setups, there was no noise, no vibration, it was amazing!. it saves me time to the Laundry, I'm very happy with this buy, I use a little liquid soap, it uses the necessary water. I recommend this also to use in an apartment.

When running the allergen cycle, it requires a little more than twice the time of my old washer. It does, however, remove every trace of pet dander; I just need to learn patience.
