Bought mine today. I was replacing the older 6000 V2 (mouse was disintegrating). I am very happy with the keyboard, mouse, and even the detached keypad (it's like a separate calculator on your desk that you can slide away when not in use). The angle of the new keyboard is slightly different than the 6000, but I am getting used to it. I think it will eventually be more comfortable than the 6000 based on its feel. The quality and workmanship are excellent. Very classy looking device. I initally had some trouble getting the USB dongle to work with my IO Gear KVM, but after disabling the "mouse emulation" mode and plugging the dongle into the "Mouse" port of the KVM, it works perfectly, even using Remote Desktop. All in all, I would happily recommend this keyboard to others.

I want to say this is the best keyboard ever. I almost would. I had the Ergonomic 4000 and switched to this because of the smaller profile. I was so happy at first. Better keys. Magnetic attachments. The numpad can be pushed out of the way when not in use. I would have rated it five stars. Except the numpad completely ruins it. The numpad itself is fine. Does the job, and when not needed is out of the way. It's the battery. The numpad apparently never goes to sleep and burns the battery to dead in a month or less. The first time I was given a whole new keyboard because the numpad was dead (great service in that) But I suspected the battery. The next time I bought a new battery for it, and low and behold everything works. If Microsoft could figure out how to properly put the numpad to sleep so the battery would last (or maybe they're just using a cheap battery and should switch away) then this would be a 6 star (yes 6) review. If you absolutely don't ever need a numpad, it's a 5 star I'd recommend. If you need a numpad, stay away. I'll say I'd recommend the product... but tentatively.

Not as good as earlier Microsoft keyboards

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I've been using the Sculpt for a few weeks, but am having to write this review with a different keyboard. The Microsoft Sculpt would often miss out the first character of sentences, or the space bar would not work when typing at speed. I've still got an original Microsoft ergonomic keyboard with the old PS/2 adapter - it's still working after 10 years of use - that was the quality I was hoping for in this new Sculpt keyboard but I was disappointed. On the ergonomic front the sculpt feels great - the position of the keys is perfect and comfortable, it just was not reliable. I so want it to work I'm going to ask the supplier to replace it with another sculpt keyboard - just in case I was unlucky and the 2nd one will be okay ... here's hoping.

Simpy the BEST

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

Recently had a new computer & printers installed and decided I didn't want to use the keyboard & mouse that came with it. Especially because I have been using some type of Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboards & Mouse's for over 10 years. This Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop set is simply the best. It did take me a few days to get used to the somewhat smaller keyboard (from my last ergonomic one) but now that I have, I love it. Typing seems much smoother, keys seem quieter and wrist pad is much improved. At first I thought that the height of it might be too big for my slide out shelf but that was not the case as it actually sits a little lower then my last ergonomic. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants or is thinking about going with the ergonomic style. I know that I could never go back to a normal keyboard. Bravo to Microsoft for creating this great product!

Best Keyboard Ever!

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I've had many, many keyboards, this by far is the most comfortable keyboard I've ever used. The touch on the keys is magical, smooth and soft. This is a winner!

everything great except the ESC and Function keys

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I use ESC and the function keys frequently, and those keys on this keyboard are the worst possible. I've owned so many of the massive 4000 series and finally got fed up with the useless numpad in the way I was so happy that this came out. The ESC and function keys are a huge disappointment, but I still end up using it regularly, just painful every time I need to use ESC, and so the 2 stars deducted. I wish they make a version of this with better ESC and function keys!!!!

Great product - Horrible and huge USB adapter

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I love this mouse and keyboard. I have tried several different products trying to find something that does not I cause pain in my hand and wrist. I love that the number pad is separate so that I can move it out of the way when not in use. The keyboard is light thin and comfortable. This mouse is a little large, but very comfortable. The issue is that the USB adapter is HUGE. It sticks out about a penny length and is not good for laptop use. Unfortunately my adapter stopped working and now my mouse, keyboard, and number pad are all completely useless. I would go buy another adapter, but unfortunately, that is not an option. I would need to buy a brand new set, which is very ridiculous, especially for the price. All of the other products that I have tried come with a very low profile adapter that does not get in the way or get caught on anything. This adapter needs to either be made smaller or with Bluetooth technology to resolve this. I love this product, but with this big of a design flaw, I don't know that I can justify buying a replacement. I feel very let down, having wasted so much money on a product that is so easily rendered useless. Only buy this if you are planning to use it with a desktop where the giant USB adapter can be plugged safely out of the way.

A comfortable keyboard even for touch typing

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I purchased this keyboard to keep up with my role as an adjunct faculty member and technical writer. It was slightly smaller than I expected, but fits well in the layout of my desk. It is taking a little time to get used to the manta ray design, but most keys are where I would expect. The biggest relief was the set works with the Microsoft dock and Continuum.

I LOVE this keyboard!!!! But...

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

... I don't understand why Microsoft hasn't released a wired version of it. I love the layout and the fact that it doesn't have an attached numpad! My wrists love the fact that they don't hurt anymore! This is simply an awesome keyboard!!! (perhaps the function keys could be a bit bigger, they tend to get stuck) But the wireless system is annyoing, I keep replacing batteries. As soon as the batteries are not brand new I start noticing keyboard lag and dropped characters. I found that moving my USB hub almost next to the keyboard helps, but for some reason when I boot, the hub doesn't work so I insert the dongle directly into my pc. I don't get what's wrong with a simple cable... it would make the keyboard less expense, more reliable and more secure! This is apparantly the only way I might get the attention of Microsoft... there are no feedback forms or human beings I can email / talk to.

Forget about pain

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I bought this mouse 3 months ago, because my hand started to hurt. I'm using mouse everyday at work. From my point of view materials used for this mouse are good and hand feeling is great. I'm able to use it all the day without feel any hurt in my hand. Buttons are on their right place and clicking is not disturbing myself. Movement on screen and on the table is smooth. Right know 7of 9 of my colleagues are using this mouse and are enjoying comfort and work without pain. I recommend this mouse to all. What to improve next time: pls. USB communication adapter is to big and looks awful. You need to be really cautious when you want to put your laptop in to the case. Side button (under blue button), pls. in next generation try to implement this button in to the better position. By now you need to "bend" your finger to push it and it take time to grown in to (and use little finger as stabilization to prevent side move). Maybe it will help to increase little bit high of the button. Thank you Microsoft, really good mouse.

RECEIVER NOT REPLACABLE!

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I lost the receiver (the dongle) and now I have to throw away the mouse! Microsoft customer service rep said there are no replacements dongles for this type of a mice. Each receiver is specific for each mouse and I have to buy a new mouse. Terrible.
