Bought mine today. I was replacing the older 6000 V2 (mouse was disintegrating). I am very happy with the keyboard, mouse, and even the detached keypad (it's like a separate calculator on your desk that you can slide away when not in use). The angle of the new keyboard is slightly different than the 6000, but I am getting used to it. I think it will eventually be more comfortable than the 6000 based on its feel. The quality and workmanship are excellent. Very classy looking device. I initally had some trouble getting the USB dongle to work with my IO Gear KVM, but after disabling the "mouse emulation" mode and plugging the dongle into the "Mouse" port of the KVM, it works perfectly, even using Remote Desktop. All in all, I would happily recommend this keyboard to others.

I want to say this is the best keyboard ever. I almost would. I had the Ergonomic 4000 and switched to this because of the smaller profile. I was so happy at first. Better keys. Magnetic attachments. The numpad can be pushed out of the way when not in use. I would have rated it five stars. Except the numpad completely ruins it. The numpad itself is fine. Does the job, and when not needed is out of the way. It's the battery. The numpad apparently never goes to sleep and burns the battery to dead in a month or less. The first time I was given a whole new keyboard because the numpad was dead (great service in that) But I suspected the battery. The next time I bought a new battery for it, and low and behold everything works. If Microsoft could figure out how to properly put the numpad to sleep so the battery would last (or maybe they're just using a cheap battery and should switch away) then this would be a 6 star (yes 6) review. If you absolutely don't ever need a numpad, it's a 5 star I'd recommend. If you need a numpad, stay away. I'll say I'd recommend the product... but tentatively.

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

Took a week to get used to. Good ergonomic. Pretty bad quality mouse for the price. The left click started to give me problem in 9 months. 3rd button on the thumb has collapsed (stucked).

Great look and feel - terribly unresponsive

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I've had both the sculpt keyboard and mouse for a month now. Both are very ergonomic and easyto use - except the fact that it is terribly unresponsive. Often the mouse will jump around, as if it only reacts to half the movements i make, and the keyboard will not type every third letter. It is completly useless. I have tried all tricks in the book (unplugging anything that might interrupt the wireless signal, and remove/reinstall the drivers) to no avail. I run Windows 7.

Best desktop set I've used to date...

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

Between my wife and I we own four of these: three complete desktops and one keyboard only. I'm a developer by trade and have used my desktop set for eight or more hours a day since Microsoft released these to the market. I liked it so much I bought a keyboard only for my home workstation since I already had a separate gaming oriented mouse. My wife ended up doing the same thing. She works in customer service for a large financial firm and has had the Sculpt destop set for well over a year. She also ended up wanting one for her home workstation. They are very comfortable to use, providing a perfect balance between a traditional desktop keyboard and laptop keyboard feel. The ability to set the number pad to the side when not in use helps maximize desk space at work. The mouse is a bit unconventional in shape, but is very comfortable in hand. These things have worked flawlessly as long as we've had them and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. however there are a few cons to this set that do need mentioning: 1) The function keys are too small and much harder to press than the rest of the keys on the keyboard. They also wobble in their mountings. My wife and I have not experienced them getting stuck, but I can definitely see how this can happen with the current design. 2) The arrangement of the Insert, Delete, Home, End, PgUp, PgDown and arrow keys takes a lot of getting used to. It's not as bad as most laptop arrangements, but it's worse than the traditional desktop keyboard layout. If we didn't have the same keyboards at work and home, this would be frustrating to switch back and forth. Even after a couple of years with this keyboard, I still find myself fumbling around when using these keys. 3) The mouse could make better use of the thumb buttons. I'm used to a mouse with four buttons by my thumb, and this one only has two. Not only is it short on extra buttons, the blue "Windows" button is hard coded to open the Windows start menu and cannot be reassigned to any other functionality. This is a huge oversight on Microsoft's part.

Dongle gets damaged too easily

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

The keyboard and mouse are very comfortable to use. However, the dongle that connects the both is very vulnerable to external damages due to its design. Both of my keyboard and mouse are uselessly lying on the table because the dongle refuses to receive signal

The only keyboard for me!

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I have severe RSI issues in my hands, and this is the only keyboard I can use reliably without pain. I've deployed at least 30 in my company since I purchased mine almost 2 years ago. I read a rumor that it's being discontinued... I sincerely hope that's not true!

Very good ergonomic keyboard

By

from Undisclosed

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I bought this ergonomic desktop (keyboard and mouse) couple months ago and have been using it since. Keyboard is quite nice and comfortable, it has key touch similar to laptop keys and it is designed to be ergonomic as it has split in middle and it is naturally curved. One of the problem is too wide spacing between keys, I have big hands but still got problems hitting return key with pinkie, maybe I am used to narrow spaced normal keyboards. I calculated that keyboard width is 10 cm left side from A key to G key and 15,5 cm right side from H to RETURN key, so overall width is 25,5 cm, which is about 1 cm more wider than normal laptop keyboard. Other problem is insert, delete, pgup, pgdn and arrow keys, there isn't any spacing between this keyblock, like in normal keyboard, so it is hard to know when to reach those keys without looking them. Without these problems I would rate this keyboard as excellent. Mouse is ergonomically fine and usefull, I use it with finger tip grip and it suits well for that and curves wrist to correct position, maybe it could be too high for other mouse grip styles.

Meh

By

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I bought this mouse in March 2015. The usb lasted till today until breaking. Benefits: - Comfortable feeling. - Has the windows and back button located on the thumb. Easier than moving your hand. - Awesome thumb rest Disadvantages: - 3 month battery life - USB looses connection often - USB slowly breaks after pulling it out of the port (I would recommend this mouse for desktop users, not laptop users) - You can get a bump below your palm after long usage. - USB is too long. Easy to break.

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse:

I loved the mouse until I broke the USB FOB. Now I have no other option except to purchase a new mouse. I checked the Microsoft Store they said they could get parts but then would say later that they couldn't. Help!
