I bought this monitor and it works just fine, specially considering the price. However, it has an inexplicable defect: I'm still trying to understand why and how in the earth is it even possible that in this day and age these monitors are not VESA compatible (they don't have the 4 screw holes at the rear#. I was hoping to put this monitor and another 8 years old monitor I have in a multiple monitor stand and, !surprise!: my old cheap monitor has the 4 screw holes but my brand new Samsung monitor doesn't, ?why? please somebody tell me. Sure I should have checked the compatibility before I bought it,#anyway it wasn't specified anywhere in the web I ordered it, so I should have realized it watching the promo pictures) but it is such a basic feature that It never crossed my mind I could have this problem.

After two days of trying to get decent image quality on this monitor - i am quit. Colors are washed out (and i would say highly unrealistic!), there is too much brightness, even when i reduce it, backlight at the screen bottom is annoying, it causes 'blurry' effect (change of viewing angle reduce problem, but it is impossible to look at the screen from frog's perspective), the contrast does not adjust, unless you look it from one very specific unrealistic angle... things get better when you are viewing from distance bigger than 1 meter, but this is not comfort... I have even thought that my monitor is simple - faulty, but after reading of some reviews - i found that many others experienced same/similar problems, too... So, i am disappointed, especially because my more than five years old LCD monitor (same prince range, and not so well known brand!) produced higher quality image. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who has to spend more than 2 hours on PC daily.

I'm a huge fan of samsung.... i use this monitor as a tv in my room. Its perfict.
First month - red line
Used it for a month, then a red line (pixel) appeared completely down the left side of screen. A cable must have disconnected inside.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My first monitor was D.O.A. with only a white backlight. However, I exchanged it for the same model and have had no problems since. Setup was very simple and easy. The screen is very bright and clean

Great monitor for the price. took some time to get use after years of another monitor. But at my age it was not hard and the results are great. I would buy a Samsung again.
Colors are VERY Washed out. I had a headache after looking at the screen for about 20 minutes because it was so bright. Colors are so bleached out, I had to tilt the monitor all the way back just to be able to see colors on the bottom of the screen. I adjusted brightness and contrast all the way down to the stops and the display still looks bleached out. I bought it last night and will return it to the store today. If I had known it looked this bad, I would have much preferred to pay a little extra to get something I can actually use.

For work use, this is a great monitor.
Terrible instructions and control system
from Bellevue, WA
After spending about an hour reading both the printed instructions and the online manual, I still find it almost impossible to adjust any of the features (brightness, etc.) on the monitor. The control buttons are hard to control or use. Every monitor I have ever owned in the past has a simple onscreen system that one can use almost intuitively. The ones on this monitor are frustrating and not-intuitive; trying to adjust them is made very difficult because the various screens have a tendency to flicker on and off without seemingly any input from me.
A good, inexpensive monitor with 1920x1080 resolution
from Chicago Suburbs
Upgrading from an older flat-screen, this was nice because it has VGA hookups (the blue plugs), so installation and setup was very quick and easy. On the downside, viewing angle is pretty limited, both vertically and horizontally. As long as you stay in the sweet spot, you're fine. Also, at first I thought the viewing angle wasn't adjustable; the base mount apparatus pivots, but somehow that's not really obvious. I searched the net to see if others had the same issue, and found a video showing how to adjust the angle. It's really simple once you know how. The display is true 1920x1080, so that's nice, and the images and colors are sharp. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but overall, a good value for the money.
