I was very excited to use this tool but found out fast that it is very confusing to use and to make matters worse, it's measurement style doesn't coincide with my miter saw's angles. Where this tool registers 90 degrees, my miter saw is zero degrees and while that only requires a little simple math to figure, it doesn't fail to confuse me now and again causing me to curse myself and the tool that was supposed to make my job easier. In figuring the cut angles of crown, it does this very well and accurate but requires me to re-read the instructions every time as the process is overly complicated. I have also found the tool to be too large for many angle finding tasks even when used with the supplied sliding extension (which can also lead to some angular confusion if you aren't careful). On top of that, the tools pivot is rounded instead of pointed causing you to have to go back and extend out any layout lines to find the beginning point. On the other hand, it is VERY accurate and finds angles to the tenth of a degree. But at a pretty steep cost.

Comments about Bosch Tools Miterfinder Digital Angle Finder Kit:
I had this angle finder for over 10 years and I love it. I am a full time contractor and have over 50K in tools. Most of them are Bosch and I can not recommend them enough.

Dead on Accurate! Well Made.
from Bowling Green, KY, United States
I use this tool for all sorts of applications. It is really good for trim and crown molding. It is very rare to find an exact 90 corner and this gives you an exact measurement. I combine this with a digital angle guide for my miter saw and caulk and putty in corners are a thing of the past. Having the level with it helps to when needing to know the angle of something hanging out in the middle of nowhere. It also feels substantial and well made. The only con I have is sometimes it is a bit big to fit in places but then again sometimes the size is a positive. If you do work where you need to figure angles this is a big time saver and the quality of your work will improve.
Straightforward and indispensible

I use this tool for a multitude of projects ranging from deck installations and moldings through to a custom rabbit hutch! It pays for itself many times over in less wasted time doing trial cuts and rework. Very accurate - probably better than I can cut! Simple and effective.

from Fort Nelson, BC, Canada
I bought this to help me with doing my reno's around the house. Mostly for doing the crown mouldings and let me tell you it is one vantastic tool sure cut down on the time it was taking me to make the cuts before it shaved off about 2/3 the time. I fully recomend this item to anyone that is haveing problems with doing angles that are realy hard to figure out , this makes it a breeze to do them. Am really glad that i bought this.
All angles are not 90's or 45's ...
from Fort Worth, TX, United States
I have an older version of the DAF220K. I don't have to utilize it very often, but when I had to measure a 111,000+- square foot two story church, essentially by myself, with more odd angles than I care to remember, it and my DLR130 laser measurer saved the day. I simply could not have measured it without this angle finder. All angles are not 90's or 45's and you can't always get one leg and the hypotenuse or both legs. I highly recommend this product for anyone interested in real accuracy, under those conditions when you simply cannot do it any other way. This accuracy is data you must have to take back to your drawing program and expect your drawing to "square". When surveyors, engineers and architects go out on a project like this church, they take an entire crew. When appraisers go out, they just take a surly attitude. This tool will turn you into at least two people.

I have owned this tool for many years and I use it on every trim job I have, from running base to hanging doors to complex crown...it is quick, accurate and rugged...everything a carpenter needs. And, I find more uses for it on every job. It's never far from my hand on any task that demands accurate angles...and which jobs do not demand this?
time and material saver
from Québec, QC, Canada
I needed to add ogee's to my house and tried many tools and angle mesuring tool and always lost time and many length of material to error and trials. But with this tool, to date I have the right angles to cut and this saved me money and is easy to use. The only drawback I had at the beginning is the understanding of the instruction booklet that I felt hard to understand.

I bought this a while back but haven't used it much. Looks great though. Everything seems to function. I am very pressed for time so when I get the green light to woodwork I am finding it very hard to learn new tools. So I buy then learn But Bosch Has not done wrong on very little so far. The bosch manuals some things are vague so a lot of utube and I Have a few GreyHairs I see out on my real job. I
Does What It Says It Will Do.

While that may seem obvious, I'm amazed at how ad copy for some tools is more sizzle and less steak. This tool was purchased to remedy some issues on a deck built by a guy who didn't have one of these. Angles that should have been 45 or 22-1/2 degrees turned out to be as much as 3 degrees off. Mitering hand rails would have been a nightmare of trial and error. This tool measured the angle, gave me the correct setting for the miter saw and, since I was dealing with actual numbers instead of trying to match the angle to a sliding bevel, most cuts were dead on. The ones that weren't perfect were [probably] caused by me translating the tenth of a degree accuracy the gauge gave me to the 1/2 degree markings on the miter saw. I even like the case which is sized to fit the tool and not an over large, blow molded plastic box designed to look big so you'll think you got a lot for your money. All in all, a 5 star purchase.
