Comments about Bosch Tools 1" SDS-Plus Bulldog Xtreme Rotary Hammer:
Finally upgraded my hammer drill from a B&D Firestorm to the Bulldog. The SDS bits are durable and the drill makes quick work of setting anchors in foundations.

Bought this rotary hammer for a basement finishing job and used it to chip out high spots in the cement around some lolly columns as well as drill about 150 holes for Tapcons. Couldn't believe how fast and smooth it drilled through the concrete floor. Just watch out how hard you push using small-sized SDS-plus bits - broke off the 5/32" bit after about 75 holes. That's when I got a chance to drill a few holes with my old 6 amp regular drill. Drilling holes went from about 5-8 seconds to taking a full minute and with a lot more force on my part. Needless to say, I went out and bought some new SDS-plus bits the next day. This was my first Bosch tool of any kind. A short 3-months later and I now own about 5 other Bosch tools. I'm a believer.

I am over 70. The ground where I live is hard as a rock. My doctor recommended this device. Seems the people who put in her swimming pool used them to break up dirt. Having worn myself out using a pick and digging bar I decided to try it. Works beautifully breaking up ground for postholes.

I had to drill some holes in 50 year old concrete and it was harder than granite. I first tried with conventional drills. I burned out the first a 1/2" and gave up after after 2 hours and one hole done with the second drill. I got one of these Bosch 11255VSR drills and within 2 minutes had all of the holes I needed done. It was nicely balanced, easy to change bits rugged

This is the newest of ...

This is the newest of three Bosch tools I own and I am impressed with all of them. I was unfamiliar with SDS interface and concerned about having to buy special drill bits, but as an engineer I recognized that decoupling the functions of rotation and hammering would be superior to traditional hammer drills. Although I have only drilled small holes thus far, I'm convinced it is a superior system and the time saved is worth the cost of special tools.
Sufficient power for the job

Purchased for work on concrete at home. Used a larger unit to break the concrete floor but finished the work with my unit for drilling and do the final concrete chipping. Depth gauge is not very strong, so be careful when using it. Very glad to have this unit when doing renovation.
