I have no frame of reference with jigsaws. My first and only jigsaw was a cordless model that I received as a gift in college, and I assumed that it worked the way all jigsaws worked. It finally broke and I was forced to get a new one. After my experience with my Bosch table saw, I didn't bother looking at other brands. I figured that if anyone could make a nice jigsaw, it would be Bosch. And I was correct. The JS365 was a wake-up call. It never occurred to me that it was possible to start cutting in the middle of a plank without drilling a pilot hole. I read the owner's manual and it showed how to start at a 45degrees angle and I remember laughing at the absurdity until I tried it. No bucking or tearing, it just went through like a hot knife in butter. I giggled. This saw made a grown man giggle. I am not ashamed. The t-shank blades have a fairly thin kerf but are not flimsy. It's easy to make turns, even in thicker wood, without having the blade start to twist and cut at an angle. I recently decided to invest in a dust collection system and I assumed that only the "professional" range of jigsaws would be able to hook up to it, but this does have an optional attachment accessory that I will be purchasing as well. The fun continues...

Just purchased this jigsaw. After some research I decided that I didn't need the most powerful top of the line and most expensive one, rather one that gave me lots of power, quality and reliability and returned me with $ to buy an assortment of saw blades. When I installed a blade it didn't ride in the guide roller groove, rather up on one side of it. I was not able to make it set into the groove, even after removing the blade and running the unit a few seconds. I exchanged the jigsaw ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BOSCH QUALITY NAME. Had it been any other name brand, it would not have a second chance! The replacement unit worked in the store and I took it home. I'm yet to cut anything with it ...so average is the score!

Comments about Bosch Tools 6.5A Top-Handle Jig Saw:
Weak spring on plastic saw blade release arm. Motor hesitates on initial trigger pull.

I've owned several saber saws and jig saws throughout years and this saw ranks near the top of the list. The only feature that could use some improvement is the adjustment for making bevel cuts.
Super piece of equipment

This jigsaw replaced my 30+ year old Craftsman and equipment has come a long way. The Bosch design is sophisticated and elegant. It's a breeze to change blades. (But be advised that it takes "T" blades and all your old ones won't fit. I wish I known that before purchasing a bunch of traditional blades.) The ergonomics are perfect; it fit my hand like a glove. I've used it on several projects and cutting was precise and easy. This is my first Bosch product and I'm impressed.

gift for Christmas and I wanted one because my last jig quit
Easy to control
I bought this saw after a 50 year old Black and Decker given to me by my grandfather gave out (avacodo green if that's any indication). I am a diy person and am currently making my own outdoor furniture, a first for me. I am retired and learning wood working. As a result for the last 6 months been buying the additional tools I need. I have been doing a lot of research to find the tools that fit my needs. I am not a professional so I don't need the high end tools, I do however want one that will last. This saw meets my needs very well, l am not all that experienced so ease of use is important to me. This saw certainly meets that requirement. The only thing that would make it better for my needs would be a light. The built in dust blower helps minimize that problem.

I purchased this jigsaw over a year ago and like all bosch tools the most obvious point is ease of operation and quality of tool. this is one smooth saw very little vibration transferred to your hand an straight quick cutting, buy good blades and this is one tool no diy should be without.

I have owned a predecessor to this model for several years, and have found it indispensable for many tasks around the house for updating and remodeling our home. Bosch offers tremendous variety of blades for cutting almost any material including a carbide "grit edge" blade for ceramic material or cement "backer board". I have purchased other Bosch power tools over the years, and often found them to have universal features not offered by other manufacturers.
Great Jig Saw
from Las Vegas, NV, United States
When I purchased this jigsaw I was only replacing an ancient jigsaw I purchased several decades ago. I didn't have any expectations at all. The price was fair, and I knew Bosch had a reputation for quality tools so I took the plunge. I have to say after using this tool, I was impressed. It's smooth running, plenty of power, and easy to adjust.
